Maxwell Peary always had a way to KO Nia Mitchell with one sentence.

"Uncle, please don’t scare me!"

Nia Mitchell’s wails echoed. Maxwell Peary touched his forehead; he felt like a villain who had abducted a young maiden.

Ears pricked for any sound outside the door, Nia Mitchell, fearing that the unrestrained man might actually burst in, quickly rinsed off and walked out wrapped in a bath towel.

Maxwell Peary staggered. The door he was leaning on had suddenly been opened from the inside. The sight that met his eyes was a breathtaking vision of a beauty fresh from her bath.

"Uncle Peary, you can take your shower now. I’m done."

Nia Mitchell walked past Maxwell Peary, sighing inwardly with relief. Unexpectedly, after only a few steps, someone scooped her up from behind by the waist.

A pleasant chuckle from Maxwell Peary sounded in her ear. Suddenly, with a surge of strength, he flipped their positions, so she was lying on top of him.

Nia Mitchell was startled. Her two small, fair hands pressed between them, trying to create some distance.

But how could she stop it? She was already pressed tightly against him.

"Uncle Peary, weren’t you going to shower?"

He didn’t answer.

"Uncle Peary, I’m too heavy. I might crush you."

Again, he didn’t answer.

"Uncle Peary, I’m thirsty. I want to go downstairs to get some water."

Maxwell Peary sighed. He moved his hands from her waist and cupped her cheeks.

"I was originally going to let you go," he said.

Nia Mitchell’s mind couldn’t quite process that; she didn’t understand what he meant.

"MMF!"

Maxwell Peary tilted Rabina Mitchell’s small face up and fiercely kissed her incessantly chattering mouth.

Nia Mitchell thought he was going to do ’that’ again. She thrashed violently and, in her desperation, bit down hard on his lip.

"HISS..."

Maxwell Peary released her. Nia Mitchell immediately jumped back, pulling a bathrobe tightly around herself, and put at least three meters between them, her face full of wariness.

"I’ll get the First Aid Kit for you."

She had found herself a task.

"How are you supposed to apply medicine there?" Maxwell Peary asked.

Nia Mitchell thought carefully. "We can put a Band-aid on it."

Maxwell Peary’s face darkened. His lip was already bitten, which was embarrassing enough. If he put a Band-aid on it too, he wouldn’t be making headlines in the Finance Department when he went out, but in the Entertainment Section.
