Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 800: Sister-in-law
Chapter 800: Chapter 800: Sister-in-law
Sicong blinked hard, the tears still clinging to his lashes. He felt his eyes were playing a trick on him.
Then, all at once, he rushed forward and pulled Fu Jian into a tight, desperate hug.
"You idiot," Sicong choked out, his voice thick. "You’re supposed to stay safe."
Fu Jian’s arms slowly came up to wrap around him.
"I tried." His voice was small. "I really did."
They stood there in the rain, holding on to each other as if letting go would tear the world apart.
After a while, Fu Jian pulled away from Yu Sicong and said,
"Let go. Are you planning to stay in the rain for the next 24 hours? I am tired af."
Yu Sicong chuckled as he picked up Fu Jian, who yelped in surprise and patted Yu Sicong’s chest,
"You...what are you doing? Put me down! Right now! I am completely fine! I can walk on my own!"
Yu Sicong shook his head as he opened the door of the car and placed Fu Jian on the passenger seat. His eyes settled on the faint red marks on Fu Jian’s wrist, and anger bubbled up in his heart. He wanted nothing more than to beat Old Master Fu.
Yu Sicong closed the door gently after setting Fu Jian down, then walked around to the driver’s side with his jaw clenched tight. Rain still poured around them, but he barely felt it. All he could see were those red marks on Fu Jian’s wrists—faint, but cruel.
Signs that someone had tied him up. Hurt him. Treated him like nothing.
His grip on the steering wheel tightened as he slid into the driver’s seat. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the fire building in his chest, but it was no use.
Fu Jian glanced over, his voice quiet. "Sicong..."
Yu Sicong didn’t look at him right away. He just started the engine, headlights cutting through the misty night.
"Sicong, you still haven’t saved Gu Nian!" Fu Jian shouted.
"Let him die." Yu Sicong muttered that his words were laced with fury.
Fu Jian was worried that Yu Sicong would truly ignore Gu Nian and let him die on the road, and said,
"If...if you don’t save him, then I would have to go to jail. Though I won’t be charged with any crime, I don’t want to go to jail!"
Yu Sicong paused, his hand still resting on the gearshift. The rain beat steadily against the windshield, filling the silence between them like a ticking clock.
He closed his eyes for a second, jaw clenched tight.
"Fu Jian," he said slowly, "after what he did to you—he doesn’t deserve to be saved."
Fu Jian leaned forward, his voice urgent now. "I know. I know what he did. But if they find his body here and know I was in the car too, what do you think they’ll say? That I escaped a crash? Or that I caused it?"
Sicong looked over at him, lips pressed into a thin line.
"I don’t care what they say," he muttered.
"Well, I do," Fu Jian snapped, frustrated. "I just got out. I can’t afford to get dragged back into another nightmare because of him."
There was a beat. Then, more quietly:
"Besides... I don’t want to have someone’s death on my hands."
Sicong exhaled hard through his nose, as if the anger was trying to crawl out of him. He ran a hand through his soaked hair and muttered a curse under his breath.
"Fine," he said finally. "But I’m not doing it for him."
"I know," Fu Jian whispered.
Sicong got out of the car without another word and slammed the door behind him.
The rain hit him in full force, soaking his clothes instantly, but he didn’t care. He stalked over to the wreck, the twisted metal still groaning faintly as if the crash hadn’t ended.
Gu Nian was still slumped over the steering wheel, blood dried on his temple, but his chest rose and fell—barely.
Yu Sicong reached in, grabbing Gu Nian by the collar and pulling him out of the seat like a ragdoll. Gu Nian groaned faintly, his eyes fluttering open just a little.
Sicong glared at him, rain streaking down his face like tears he refused to shed.
"If you ever touch him again," he whispered, his voice ice-cold and low enough for only Gu Nian to hear, "you won’t wake up next time."
He dragged him to the side of the road and dropped him down roughly, pulling out his phone to call emergency services. He gave a clipped report—location, one injured male, unconscious but breathing—then hung up.
When he got back into the car, his fingers were trembling from the cold.
Fu Jian reached over and touched his hand gently. "Thank you."
Yu Sicong held Fu Jian’s hand and kissed it, "Anything for you."
Soon they reached the hospital. Yu Sicong personally monitored the entire process, ensuring that Fu Jian was getting treatment properly.
His behavior caused Fu Jian to feel speechless, and he couldn’t help but pout.
"I am not a child!"
"Only children are influenced by others’ words and rush out without confirming anything." Yu Sicong rolled his eyes. He truly felt speechless.
"But the call came from your number!" Fu Jian retorted. He had believed the words purely because of his confidence in the number.
Yu Sicong sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Yeah, I know. That’s what makes this worse."
Fu Jian narrowed his eyes. "Then don’t blame me for believing it."
"I’m not blaming you," Sicong said, his voice a little softer now. "I’m blaming myself. I should’ve been more careful. I should’ve warned you that something like this could happen."
Fu Jian blinked. "You... blamed yourself?"
Yu Sicong looked over at him, his expression serious.
"Of course I do. I’m the one who let that psycho get close to you. I let my guard down. And you got hurt because of it."
Fu Jian opened his mouth, but nothing came out at first. His heart squeezed a little at Sicong’s words.
"It’s not your fault," he said finally. "It’s theirs. Gu Nian and that old bastard Fu."
Yu Sicong gave a short laugh, but there was no humor in it. "Yeah, well... I still should’ve been faster. Should’ve protected you."
Fu Jian reached out and poked his forehead. "Hey. You did protect me. You came. You got me out. You even saved that jerk Gu Nian."
Sicong gave him a look. "Under protest."
Fu Jian grinned. "Still counts."
They both sat in silence for a moment in the hospital waiting room, the soft hum of fluorescent lights above them.
The nurses were still checking Fu Jian’s vitals, but nothing serious had shown up—just a mild concussion and a few bruises.
The doctors said he was lucky.
Really lucky.
Fu Jian leaned back in the chair, letting out a breath. "I still don’t get it."
"What?" Sicong asked.
"The pendant," Fu Jian said, fingers brushing the jade at his neck. "It actually... saved me."
Sicong gave a half-smile.
"Yu Holea is a talisman practitioner. Of course, whatever she gives would work."
"Anyways, I need to thank her. If it wasn’t for her talisman, maybe by the time you had found me, I would be a corpse." Fu Jian joked.
In reality, though, he was stunned by the power Yu Holea holds. To a person like him, who has never come in contact with magic or such stuff, talismans were nothing more than paper.
But after seeing the power of runes engraved on the pendant, he was filled with awe. What kind of monster sister does Yu Sicong have?
Fu Jian nodded as he expressed his excitement,
"In fact, if possible, we can take her help and teach Old Master Fu a lesson and even put him in jail."
Yu Sicong raised an eyebrow. After all, he knew what Fu Jian was planning, since he was planning the same.
"Don’t worry, I will call Yu Holea and tell her about what happened with you. As you are her sister-in-law, she will definitely take a stand for you."
Fu Jian’s face turned red, and he slapped Yu Sicong’s arms with annoyance on his face.
"Shut up! I am her brother-in-law! Not sister-in-law! And I have still not agreed to be your husband yet!"
Yu Sicong chuckled and held Fu Jian’s hand,
"No. I am her brother, and you are my wife. From that logic alone, you are her sister-in-law."
Fu Jian’s face turned red from anger, and he decided to ignore Yu Sicong.
"Baby, are you angry? Don’t be! Let’s talk! If you want, you can be a brother-in-law too. You just need to work twice on the bed."
Fu Jian: "..." Shut up! Who wants to be your wife?
..........
"Idiots! Idiots! Why did you let him escape? Do you know what that demon Yu will do with me now?" Old Master Fu was furious to the point that he swept the study table in front of him.
