"What the heck?"

Farrah’s eyes squinted as the figure came into view.

At first glance, she thought he couldn’t be a Foreign Survivor like her and Alfie. His gear was different, far beyond the rough, practical Tier‑1 Survivor Gear they had been given when they were transported here.

She remembered her own outfit clearly... a plain shirt under a dark jacket, durable pants with six pockets, sturdy boots, and a belt with simple pouches. It wasn’t stylish, but it was functional, meant for survival.

Alfie’s was the same. Every Foreign Survivor she had met wore that same uniform. They were durable and not easily scratched as well. It was as if there were some kind of unseen enchantments to them.

But this man... his gear was different, far beyond the rough Tier‑1 outfits she and Alfie had worn since arriving here.

His jacket looked sturdier, with extra padding across the chest and shoulders. It wouldn’t even be surprising if it were bulletproof.

His boots looked solid, with protective guards around the ankles and shins, while his pants weren’t the plain kind either. They were armor-plated at the knees and thighs, clearly made for combat and movement.

It was survival gear, but clearly upgraded in many ways.

Then, Farrah’s gaze shifted to the machine beside him.

The impressive humanoid Sentinel was unlike any she had ever seen. It was slim, standing just under seven feet tall, and its frame wasn’t making loud noises when moving, unlike the other Sentinels that felt like they were rattling whenever they walked.

’This mech soldier... Is it really human-made?’ Farrah couldn’t believe that such a machine could become allied to a human.

In any case, she also noticed that it carried a bulky rifle, but it did not fire gunpowder rounds!

Farrah and Alfie saw it... When the mechanical raised the weapon and pulled the trigger, a block of metal shot forward with terrifying force, tearing through the air with a sound like thunder...

The slug smashed into the Field Tyrant’s shoulder, denting the armor and forcing the massive machine to stagger back a step!

Farrah flinched at the impact. She had seen rifles before, but nothing like this.

The sheer force of the shot made the Tyrant shift its balance with its flamethrowers sputtering for a moment.

It actually slowed it down...!

Both Farrah and Alfie were shocked upon seeing this.

It was simply incredible.

Then, they saw the man behind the mechanical soldier also make his move...

"It’s a good thing it’s already damaged. This should be doable." Kai muttered as he decided to steal this Field Tyrant and get a bunch of Experience Points from it!

Atom’s first slug had dented its shoulder, but that wasn’t enough.

His Level 3 Keen Sense made him aware of the condition of the machine. From the hiss of pressure valves, the faint glow of overheated joints, and even the way its weight shifted wasn’t missed...

Weaknesses stood out in him!

"Atom, knee joint," Kai ordered...

The Sentinel raised its rifle, and just like before, the weapon’s discharge ripped through the air!

The slug smashed into the Tyrant’s knee, tearing through armor.

The impact forced the machine off-center! It was now struggling to keep its balance.

Kai then sprinted, closing the distance. He vaulted onto a shattered barricade and soon, his Spirit energy gathered around him...

Then, Kai landed, rolled, and snapped his revolver up.

Two shots rang out, both hitting the sensor cluster on its head!

He forced himself upright, refusing to stay down.

Atom did its best to get the Tyrant’s attention...

Kai then climbed onto its damaged arm and checked the core... It was different from the furnace he was expecting...

Nonetheless, it was still the same Tyrant like before...

Then, just like that, he fired point-blank.
