Global Descent: Heaven's Executioner-Chapter 60:Total Annihilation
"AAAAAH—!!"
A piercing scream tore through the battlefield. Mex staggered backward, his defense finally shattering under the relentless onslaught.
Claw!
A mummy’s hand lunged forward, ripping through his shoulder and tearing out a chunk of flesh.
Before he could even react, another lunged from the shadows. The mummies swarmed from every direction, like a pack of starving predators.
"No—wait—!"
His words were abruptly cut off.
Boom!
The next instant, his body slammed violently into the ground.
Dozens of mummies piled atop him, their weight crushing, their movements merciless. Blood sprayed across the sand as his screams gradually turned into muffled cries... and then—silence.
At this moment, out of the original ten players, only four remained.
"Everyone! Those who don’t want to die, activate your talents! Channel all your spirit energy into my body!"
"All of our spirit energy... power?!" The man wielding the long spear raised his weapon, sending over a dozen mummies hurtling through the air with a single, precise wave. His voice deepened with urgency.
"This is a matter of life and death! I don’t have time to discuss it with you. If you don’t want to die, do as I say! Or do you have some miraculous way to break through the encirclement and kill that damn kid?!"
The tension on the battlefield was suffocating.
Right now, let alone killing Seth and Lev, even breaking out of the encirclement was difficult.
At this moment, Nox was the first to shout loudly. "I choose to trust Viktor. If we wait any longer, we won’t even have a chance to gamble. I don’t want to die here without trying anything!"
After speaking, he cleared out a section of the surrounding mommies. Then activated his talent.
Boom!
The next moment a white aura exploded from his body, and then he placed his hand on Viktor, the man holding the long spear, on his right shoulder.
"Damn it! Nox is right, I’ll take a gamble too!"
After saying that, another person activated his talent and placed his hand on Viktor’s left shoulder and channeled his spirit energy.
The other two saw this and didn’t hesitate.
They stepped forward without a word, positioning themselves behind Viktor as they activated their talents at the same time.
Boom! Boom!
Streams of energy surged out from their bodies, pouring directly into Viktor like raging currents.
Buzz—!!
In an instant, a violent ripple of spirit energy exploded from Viktor’s body, spreading outward like a shockwave.
The ground began to tremble violently. The surrounding mummies were blasted back instantly, sent flying dozens of meters away as if struck by an invisible force.
At this moment, Viktor drew in a deep breath. The spirit energy around him began to surge violently.
Then he started channeling everything into the long spear in his hand. Streams of power poured in from all directions. All of it gathered into the spear.
Buzz—!!
The weapon trembled violently as if it couldn’t withstand the overwhelming energy.
A blinding white light erupted from its tip, growing brighter and brighter with each passing second.
The pressure in the air skyrocketed.
Even the surrounding mummies were forced back, their movements slowing under the crushing force.
From afar, Seth and Lev watched everything unfold. Yet neither of them made a move to stop it.
"You two!" Viktor roared, veins bulging across his arms as the energy around him surged wildly.
"I’ll tell you this clearly—this is an ancient skill I discovered in the ruins! Although it is an A-grade skill now, having gathered the spirit energy of four people, this attack is enough to rival the full power of an S-grade skill!"
However, as Viktor spoke, he didn’t see panic on Seth or Lev’s face; instead, he saw a look of anticipation.
Damn it... what a lunatic!
Viktor cursed inwardly, his grip tightening on the spear as the violent energy within it grew harder to contain.
His voice turned cold as he shouted, "Listen carefully! Once I release this spear, even I won’t be able to control it!"
"I’m giving you a chance!"
Seth stood there, unmoved. A faint, indifferent smile still hung on his lips.
"Oh?"
"What chance?"
Viktor’s eyes flashed as he gritted his teeth. "Let us leave now! And I’ll risk the backlash to forcibly stop this attack!"
After speaking, drops of cold sweat appeared on Viktor’s forehead. At this point, all four streams of spirit energy had fully converged.
What he held in his hands was no longer just a spear. It was a ticking disaster. The compressed energy inside it trembled violently, threatening to explode at any moment.
Even Viktor himself was struggling to suppress it.
"I’ll only give you five seconds to think!"
Before Seth could even respond.
"Hahaha...!"
A burst of laughter suddenly rang out.
Lev. He stepped forward calmly, his expression filled with amusement. Placing a hand lightly on Seth’s shoulder, he moved ahead. "Leave this to me."
"No need for three seconds, Viktor. Throw that spear. If you win, you leave. If you lose, everyone stays!"
Viktor’s brows furrowed tightly. He didn’t understand what Lev was expecting.
Was he truly not afraid of death? Or did he genuinely have the confidence to make this move?
"Kid, I’m telling you—this attack carries the power of a level 10 player!"
Viktor roared, his voice strained as the energy in his hands grew more unstable.
"You’d better think it through carefully!" He was still trying to force them to reconsider.
But Lev simply waved his hand. Like he was brushing away something insignificant.
"No need to think. If I said throw it, then throw it."
His eyes turn cold as he stares at Viktor. "If you win, you leave. If you lose, everyone stays!"
Viktor looked at Seth and Lev, his expression twisting slightly.
For a moment he didn’t even know what to say. Were they truly not afraid of death, or did they actually have the confidence to face this head-on?
Thinking of this, Viktor shuddered. To be able to forcefully take a level 10 player’s full strike...
Even if they broke out with such strength, what could they do to him?
They couldn’t possibly withstand the full power of a level 10 player.
"You forced my hand!"
Having said that, Viktor no longer hesitated.
Before the mummies could close in again, he moved.
With a furious roar, he hurled the spear forward with all his strength!
Whoosh—!!
The moment it left his hand, the world seemed to freeze.
Boom!!!
Then a terrifying wave of pressure exploded outward. The sheer force of the spear tore through everything in its path like a falling star.
The innermost ring of mummies didn’t even have time to react before they were instantly crushed. Shattered into countless pieces by the overwhelming power, not even bones remained, only dust scattered by the raging shockwave.
And the spear still flew forward, carrying destruction with it. Locked onto Seth and Lev.
In an instant, Seth and Lev felt a terrifying sense of crisis descend upon them.
"Hahaha—!!"
But instead of panicking, Lev laughed maniacally, filled with excitement.
Lev took one step forward.
Boom!!!
A violent crimson aura exploded from his body like a raging inferno. The ground beneath his feet shattered. The air around him twisted under the sheer pressure.
Lev didn’t dodge. He stood there, staring straight at the incoming spear as it tore through the air, the pressure alone cracking the ground beneath his feet and distorting the space around him. The violent energy howled like a storm, carrying enough force to erase everything in its path.
Then he moved.
Lev slowly raised his left hand, fingers spreading slightly as if gripping something invisible. At the same time, his right hand drew back, pulling through the air like he was drawing the string of a massive bow.
The crimson aura around his body surged violently, rushing toward his hands and rapidly condensing.
In the blink of an eye, a blazing red bow formed, its outline flickering with destructive energy, while a condensed spear of crimson light locked into place like an arrow.
The surrounding air twisted violently.
The ground beneath him continued to crack as the energy gathered grew more and more terrifying.
Even the incoming spear seemed to slow slightly under the pressure of that condensed power.
Lev’s eyes sharpened, completely locking onto Viktor’s attack. There was no fear in his expression—only excitement, like a predator finally facing worthy prey.
The energy between his hands reached its peak, compressing to the limit, giving off a suffocating sense of destruction.
In the next instant, he released.
Boom!!!
A terrifying shockwave exploded outward as the crimson arrow shot forward, tearing through the air with unstoppable force.
The moment the two attacks collided, the sky itself seemed to collapse.
Boom—!!!
A deafening explosion erupted, swallowing everything in blinding light. The ground shattered layer by layer, cracking apart like fragile glass under the overwhelming force.
A violent shockwave tore through the battlefield, sweeping outward in all directions and flattening everything in its path.
The remaining mummies didn’t even have time to react before they were obliterated. Their bodies were torn apart instantly, reduced to dust by the raging energy storm.
The surrounding ruins collapsed completely, pillars snapping and stone turning to fragments as if the entire area were being erased.
At the center of the collision, the crimson arrow and the blazing spear clashed violently, neither willing to give way. Energy roared like a beast, expanding and compressing at the same time, creating a terrifying vortex of destruction.
Viktor’s pupils contracted tightly.
"No... that’s impossible...!"
The veins on his forehead bulged as he tried to push more power forward, but it was useless. The moment the two forces reached their peak—
Crack!
A sharp, piercing sound rang out.
The spear began to break.
Tiny fractures spread across its surface, glowing with unstable energy before rapidly expanding.
Then—
Boom!!!
The entire spear shattered apart.
The crimson arrow tore straight through it without slowing down, carrying the remaining force as it shot forward with unstoppable momentum.
At this moment, Viktor’s heart was in turmoil, and his expression turned sorrowful.
"We lost... we lost..."
