God of Pets-Chapter 494: Killing Intent
"What martial skills are you good at?" the Soldier Lord continued to ask.
"Not very good at any," Chen Guan answered honestly.
"Then what are you good at?" The Soldier Lord felt as if her brain was not quite functioning.
If she hadn’t tested it herself earlier, she would think Chen Guan was just brushing her off with his words.
But it seemed to be true; otherwise, the resonance with those realms wouldn’t be so low.
Yet it’s hard to believe that Chen Guan wasn’t good at anything; could a person without a specialty achieve such accomplishments?
"If I must say I’m good at something, it might be that I’m quite strong," said Chen Guan.
"Strong? Is being strong a specialty? No matter how strong you are, can you be stronger than a giant Secret Spirit?" The Soldier Lord was speechless.
It’s the first time she heard that a human’s specialty was just being strong.
Even a Secret Spirit wanted to mock Chen Guan: Aren’t you humans supposed to boast yourselves as high intelligence creatures, with the pride of learning and using tools? Yet you, a human, claim that your strength is your specialty; what is this?
For a moment, the Soldier Lord didn’t know how to respond. She started to doubt her judgment; is this person really suitable as her vessel?
But then again, the Soldier Lord felt that things were not that simple.
Chen Guan’s strength wasn’t empty; the fact that he could draw the Sword Spirit was not false and certainly had his unique talents and abilities.
"Besides being strong, do you have any other specialties?" The Soldier Lord asked patiently.
"I am physically robust," Chen Guan continued to answer.
He couldn’t mention his abundance of Primordial Energy here.
Currently, he was Zi Donglai, not Chen Guan. If he demonstrated the ability to endlessly produce Primordial Energy here, it would inevitably lead to suspicions.
"Isn’t being strong and physically robust the same thing?" Wang Lian couldn’t help but remark on the side.
"Is it the same thing?" Chen Guan countered. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Both the human and the Secret God were rendered speechless by Chen Guan. The Soldier Lord felt that Chen Guan must be distrustful, hence his evasiveness.
"To help you achieve enlightenment, I must know what you are good at. Otherwise, how will I know which aspect to assist you in?" The Soldier Lord explained.
"I’m strong, so help me prove my path through strength," Chen Guan suggested.
"That kind of thing, without any technical content, I won’t do," Soldier Lord retorted, immediately halting the Sword Heart Clarity before it had truly come into play.
The Soldier Lord was displeased. As the dignified Soldier Lord, she excelled in technique, and for Chen Guan to ask her to teach strength-based methods was an insult.
"I detest anything without technical content," Soldier Lord cursed silently.
Primarily because she consistently used Sword Heart Clarity, although she hadn’t completed the most critical step, the consumption itself was severe, and she was already struggling to maintain it.
"Is this considered enlightenment?" Chen Guan smiled at the Soldier Lord.
The Soldier Lord said nothing and returned to Wang Lian’s body.
Wang Lian was at a loss, unsure of what had transpired.
"How do you feel?" Wang Lian asked Chen Guan.
"I feel quite good," Chen Guan nodded.
"Did you comprehend anything?" Wang Lian cautiously inquired, knowing the Soldier Lord’s Sword Heart Clarity had surely malfunctioned.
"I comprehended a bit, though I’m not sure if it counts," Chen Guan said, adjusting his posture and attempting to employ the killing intent he gleaned from the Soldier Lord’s realm.
If he were more familiar, he wouldn’t need such effort; for now, Chen Guan needed to rely on his physical posture to evoke some killing intent.
After all, it’s just the beginning of his insight; practice is required.
"What kind of strange insight did you gain?" The Soldier Lord sulked inside Wang Lian’s body, still considering giving up on Chen Guan, despite initially favoring him.
But the next moment, the Soldier Lord was astounded, for she sensed a murderous aura from Chen Guan.
Rapidly, as Chen Guan continued adjusting his posture, he gradually grasped the essence, and his killing intent began to manifest.
Killing intent... it’s what he comprehended... the Soldier Lord’s emotions were complex.
Killing intent is both simple and incredibly challenging to master; how simple, you ask?
Imagine, even a person without any technique training, not having cultivated, in certain special circumstances, might grasp killing intent.
Some seasoned soldiers, even without training, occasionally wield killing intent.
Yet killing intent is exceedingly difficult to refine to perfection; truly few can reach its pinnacle.
Regardless of sword intent or blade intent or any weapon’s realm, they target a specific weapon.
However, killing intent is a universal realm; it can apply in any circumstance whenever one harbors thoughts of slaughter.
There are two types of people who practice killing intent: clumsy novices or terrifying perverts.
Witnessing Chen Guan harness killing intent with his clumsy posture, the Soldier Lord’s first thought was that he was wasted.
Not everyone can master killing intent at its peak, but the Soldier Lord was one of those adept at it.
From her perspective, Chen Guan’s display could only be described as a novice.
Yet as Chen Guan continued to adjust his posture, she realized his killing intent was growing stronger.
This did not change the Soldier Lord’s view; the maturity of killing intent isn’t judged solely by its momentary intensity.
Many untrained ordinary individuals can exhibit extraordinary killing intent at special moments, but it is fleeting, insufficient as a standard of judgment.
Wang Lian looked at Chen Guan, who exuded killing intent, and fear quietly arose within; she retreated half a step, her gaze filled with panic.
Seeing Wang Lian seemed frightened, Chen Guan curbed his killing intent, preventing its outward escape and smiling at Wang Lian, "Did I scare you? Seems my practice isn’t quite there yet."
"It’s already impressive; the realm is strong, it even affected me," Wang Lian quickly spoke.
At that moment, the Soldier Lord was somewhat shocked.
Chen Guan could control the killing intent, which was a sign of superior killing intent.
Typically, once someone triggers killing intent, they can only vent it through slaughter, unable to control it themselves.
Such killing intent is merely a demon masking humanity, not truly a realm.
Some practice their whole lives without ever achieving control over killing intent. If they can’t vent it by killing, the killing intent may even backfire against them.
Chen Guan’s killing intent was evidently freshly forming, requiring posture to trigger, yet he could control it, which was astounding.
It’s like a young student who just completed nine years of compulsory education suddenly engineered controllable nuclear fusion, making it incredibly hard to believe.
