Greatest Of All Legends-Chapter 803 - 2c
Perhaps it was worry about Jason or the fact that Jason was no longer on the pitch, but after the game continued, the Tottenham side seemed to have lost most of their driving force.
With the Boavista side continuing to play frustrating football, the time completely ran out and the game ended rightfully in a draw.
Jason had already been assisted into the dressing room long before the game ended and had already undergone some more first aid treatment while the medics did a little more basic diagnosis.
They checked his range of motion, checked his push-off strength and tried to estimate how bad things were, but the only thing they were able to confirm was that it was indeed an Achilles tear injury and that the tendon wasn’t completely ruptured.
However the symptoms were pretty bad, but the medical staff didn’t rush to make any judgements as the injury had just happened.
Deciding against waiting behind at Portugal to fully diagnose, they decided to travel back to England before getting a full diagnosis at the club’s facilities.
Jason just nodded curtly to most of the things they were saying to him after following through with all the things they asked him to do while diagnosing and treating his injury.
He was mostly in his own thoughts and wasn’t paying attention to what they were doing because while he knew that there was nothing his worrying would do, he couldn’t completely stop it.
He was already feeling aggrieved at the thoughts of missing quite a few games in the forseeable future.
The thoughts of the aftereffects of the injury were another worry, but there was nothing he could do at this moment.
When the players finally returned to the locker room after the game, he received quite the number of worried looks and well wishes on his recovery.
Funnily enough, the atmosphere his injury had covered the air playing terribly had brought.
Even Nuno had toned down his post match address to the players because he was more worried on how to change his plans for the season now that Jason was injured.
All in all, there was a pretty somber mood at the Tottenham locker room.
At the post match press conference, Nuno had already spoken about the team’s mostly poor performance in the game while also highlighting the team’s strong points.
When he was asked about Jason’s injury, he didn’t divulge the information he already had and simply said that the club would release an official statement about the situation.
He also tried to downplay the seriousness of the injury, not wanting to cause a huge decrease in the morale of the fans.
Time passed quickly after that and the next day right after getting back to Hotspur way, Jason was rushed off to get a full MRI scan and a detailed physical assessment and it was confirmed that it was a 2c tear. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Almost 40% of the muscles in the area had been disrupted and it was confirmed that he would be out for 8 to 12 weeks, or maybe even more, depending on how quickly he recovered.
"I’ll draw up your recovery plan, you’ll be back soon enough, it’s not too bad so don’t feel too down," Nick Stubbings, the team’s doctor told Jason.
"Right. There’s no risk of after effects, right?" Jason asked.
"None if you heal properly. It may seem like it even after your recovery with some soreness sometimes or like reduced strenth in those muscles, but that’s only part of the healing process,"
"After you’re recovered enough to play, your tendon muscles will still need to be built up back to your pre-injury levels,"
"It may feel a bit disjointed but you’ll have to patient as that will happen soon enough as well. You have nothing to worry about," Nick replied patiently.
"Right, thanks," Jason replied, thankful that the medical opinion was that there wouldn’t be any long-term after effects from his injury.
"Enough about that though. How are you going to cope with daily life? Your recovery schedule is not light, like at all,"
"You’re going to have to be at the training ground almost every day so that we can monitor your healing process and help with the recovery process," Nick stated.
"You just got here and I don’t think you even have a house yet. Will we have to get you a nurse or something, and you can stay in the club’s accomodation?" he asked.
"Nah, don’t worry about it. I’m actually supposed to move in like next week. Also, my girlfriend’s flying in today. I’ll be okay, I guess," Jason remembering Adele’s decision the previous night to take a leave and come to England.
He definitely needed help as for a while as even walking alone was difficult right now.
"You’re all set then. I look forward to your quick recovery then," Nick grinned at Jason.
While Nick was preparing Jason’s recovery schedule, Nuno stopped by to give Jason a few words of encouragement and also made a promise that Jason’s status in the starting line-up would not be affected by the injury.
Jason accepted the sentiment but knew that it was more or less an empty promise.
He wasn’t exactly worried about his playtime right now, but he knew that if he didn’t play well after coming back from an injury, he would be sidelined, especially if there were other players doing better.
Luckily, Jason didn’t exactly have too much competition for a spot, but that didn’t exactly mean he could relax either.
However, that was a matter that was on hold till he recovered enough to play football again.
Apart from the manager, some other players stopped by to check on him and wish him a safe recovery.
"How long till you’re back?" Son asked Jason.
"It’s 2c so they said 8 to 12 weeks, but I don’t know man, either way it’s a long time," Jason sighed.
"The fans will be gutted to know you’ll be out for that long," Kane said, rubbing his chin.
"That makes two of us," Jason replied with a bitter smile.
"Three actually, I’m pretty gutted," Kane laughed honestly.
He had watched Jason’s performance the last two matches and had actually begun looking forward to playing with Jason, but unfortunately, the guy had gotten injured.
"Just get back stronger, we’ll be waiting for you," Kane told him before he left with Son. The two of them couldn’t stay for long.
