Harem app-Chapter 41: Getting up
Chapter 41: Getting up
I took a deep breath as I thought about all the things I had to deal with. With the air filling my lungs, my body was filled with courage and determination as my mind began to speculate on my future.
With a powerful voice, I called for Lila, who quickly appeared with a slightly worried look. I smiled to calm her and then kissed her intensely, hoping that her love would bring me the peace I needed.
After the passionate kiss, we exchanged warm glances while I ran my fingers through her soft, white hair. Her face was so beautiful, and her gaze so full of love, that it filled me with confidence.
"I want you to take Eva to Isabel’s house. Unfortunately, I won’t have time to introduce you, but I’ve already explained it to her."
"Wait, what are you planning to do? Are you okay?" She stared at me once more, concerned.
"I’m going to have to ask for help from someone I know. And try to solve some other problems. I just want Eva to be safe. Can you promise me that?"
"Leave it to me."
Soon after saying this, Lila and Eva went to take a shower, and in a short while, they were on there way to Isabel’s house. Meanwhile, I had to call the only person who could help me in this situation: Vanessa.
I sat on the edge of the couch, staring at my phone. A mix of anxiety and desperation washed over me. With the two of them not at home, I no longer had to fake a calm exterior, and my true feelings came to the surface.
I knew she wasn’t obligated to help me, and I wasn’t even sure if things would work out, but at that point that was my only option. Taking a deep breath, I called her number and held the phone to my ear, nervously waiting for the answer.
"Want a job, kid?" My soul almost leaped out of my mouth when the teasing voice of the girl seemed to predict what I needed.
"Well, actually, yes..." I said in a muffled voice. "How much do you already know?" I asked.
"Just that they don’t want me to hire you. I think all the business owners in the city got the same message. So, what did you do?"
Feeling a knot form in my throat, I took a deep breath and explained the whole story. I told almost everything. I didn’t fully trust Vanessa, but I didn’t see any harm in sharing the whole story. I didn’t think anything I said would really be harmful anyway. Besides, in this situation, I desperately needed to convince her to help me.
"I see. Come to my office." Teasing my soul, she was brief with her words. "I’ll send you the address; I think it’s better to hear the details in person."
Until the end, she remained cruelly vague about whether she would help me or not, but I had no choice but to gather my things and leave the house. She gave me the location details, and we agreed to meet as soon as possible.
Everything passed in a whirlwind, and before I knew it, I was in the office of that beautiful woman, who, as usual, wore a suit that perfectly outlined her curves and displayed a deep neckline.
"So, tell me, what happened?"
In the face of her gaze, which was both kind and judgmental, I took a deep breath. Honestly, speaking in person carried a heavier weight. Still, I had responsibilities to take on.
I met the powerful gaze of that woman and retold the story, preparing myself to essentially ask for a job and borrow money.
And when I finally finished speaking, my excessive worry proved unfounded as she flashed a friendly smile. She quickly clapped her hands, shifting into her businesswoman mode and starting to issue instructions.
She called her secretary and ordered them to prepare the paperwork, also requesting another employee to bring the corporate card. She asked someone else to handle the fine and the details about the property damage. Then, she turned to me and, still smiling, said:
"For me, lending money wouldn’t be a problem. I am confident that you would pay in the future. Of course, only if you agree to a small interest of 20% per year."
I almost fell back when I heard those words. She was definitely friendly, but her gaze clearly said: friends are friends, but business is business. That woman was terrifyingly intimidating in moments like these.
"Not like I have much of a choice." I shook her hand, jokingly.
"Great, I’ll finally have you working for me," she smiled at me. "I’ll be looking forward to it."
She seemed genuinely happy about it, but her gaze only told me that I was going to basically become her convenient slave. All I could do was sigh deeply. freewёbnoνel.com
With the money problem solved, there was still something even more frightening bothering my mind. The assault lawsuit that could lead to my imprisonment: how could I deal with that?
"What’s wrong? There’s something else you’re not telling me, isn’t there?"
"It’s just that it’s not a money-related problem; I’m not sure if there’s anything you could do about it."
"Just tell me."
In front of her gaze, there was no way to lie.
Finally, I spoke about what was worrying me the most. I told the story of how Zack was powerful and how he intended to end my life.
"I see..." She seemed to think for a moment, and for the first time, I could see genuine concern in her eyes. Then she murmured, as if carefully choosing her words, "I think I know someone who can help us. Wait a moment."
With that, she picked up her phone and quickly dialed a number. While I waited, I felt tense, wondering who this person was that she was about to call.
I watched as Vanessa briefly explained the situation to Seraphina, her business partner, who, as she would explain, owned a law firm. After a few minutes of talking, she convinced the woman to come meet us.
After some painfully silent moments, the office door opened, and a beautiful woman entered.
She was imposing, standing out with her impressive physique and height. Her presence was like an impending storm, radiating an aura of authority and power. Her firm steps only added to this, acting as announcer of the powerful presence approaching.
Her long white hair fell in soft waves down her back, and with one lock, she hid one of her eyes, maintaining a certain mystery. Her beautiful face was truly enchanting, though her cold gaze naturally instilled fear in anyone who saw her for the first time.
Then, she took a step, moving closer to me, as her fierce presence became palpable in the room. Amidst her completely closed attire, her sensuality emerged, impossible to contain. Her delicious curves were prominent through the fabric, and her large breasts and shapely buttocks inevitably stood out.
Her perfectly tailored formal suit added an extra layer of sophistication to her already commanding aura. Every detail, from the impeccable fit to the discreet accessories, contributed to the image of a woman who accepted nothing less than the best.
"This is Seraphina, a friend of mine from high school and also the one who provides legal consulting for my company. She’s amazing, you know!" For a moment, Vanessa puffed out her chest with pride as she bragged about her friend, whose icy gaze clearly indicated that she preferred to get straight to the point.
After an unnecessarily long and exaggerated introduction, it was finally my turn to speak with this woman. I greeted her, already feeling the cold sweat trickling down my forehead, but I maintained a friendly smile. Then, once again, I explained the situation with Zack.
Seraphina listened in silence, her impassive expression revealing nothing of what she was thinking. When she finally spoke, her voice was as cold as her gaze.
"I understand your situation," she began, her voice sharp as an ice blade. "But facing someone like Zack would be a huge risk for my company. However, if you’re willing to pay the price..."
My heart sank as she continued, asking for a sum of money that was simply impossible for me to pay. Before me, I saw my only lifeline being destroyed. Even after insisting that she at least consider more reasonable amounts, her response was emotionless and purely rational:
"I’m sorry, but I can’t accept anything less than that to take on this risk," she concluded, her voice as cold and unyielding as before.
In the end, she knew the price of facing powerful people.
My heart sank into despair for a moment. But I didn’t let the darkness consume me, not this time. I took a deep breath, letting the air fill my lungs and bring with it a bit of inspiration.
"Can you give me a moment to think about this?" I said calmly, turning my gaze to the floor and trying to focus my mind on the infinite.
I knew I wasn’t, by any means, a genius like those seen in anime. I couldn’t come up with the most outlandish of plans to get out of this situation. Still, I needed to think of something, at least try.
And it was in the midst of that storm that a light finally flickered in my mind. I trembled with fear and excitement at the idea, but there was definitely no better option.
I had an idea of how to pay that greedy woman. I took a deep breath. I looked her directly in the eyes with confidence. Finally, I spoke in a calm tone:
"Seraphina, could you hear me out? This might sound a bit crazy, but..."
