He who Bends Time-Chapter 70 - me who depressed
Chapter 70: Chapter 70 - me who depressed
The Blessing Crystal—a mysterious gem that shines above the city of Awakeners. For some unknown reason, within this massive crystal rests a mansion, but only those acknowledged by the Blessing Crystal itself are allowed to live there. Others may reside as well, but only with the designated person’s approval. The moment that approval is revoked, they are expelled immediately without exception.
At the moment, the designated person was walking slowly down a path leading away from the mansion.
"Nick, you bastard of a bitch, I hope you told the truth," she muttered. Her words, like always, carried a harsh tone—one of her most recognizable traits, familiar to everyone who knew her.
As she approached the exit of the crystal layer, it could be identified by two crystalline cliff-shaped towers, out of which two golems manifested.
"Behold, stranger... Oh—ahem—it’s just you, Marian," the two glowing orbs embedded in the golems greeted her. They sparkled like gems, which made sense—they were literally made from a similar material.
"To the first floor... Wait, I never asked this before—but would you be able to transport me to the surface?" Marian asked.
"To the surface? We can. Do you want to go?" the two golem responded in unison.
"Send me," Marian replied.
The two crystalline structures raised their hands, summoning the guiding wind along with their gestures. The wind wrapped around Marian, lifting her away and sending her toward the surface.
After her departure, the two golems returned to their resting state—embedded into the towering cliffs that pierced through the crystal sky. But halfway through the process, they suddenly reacted with unease, their gaze shifting toward the mansion in the distance.
"A violent ripple in space... As if space itself is cheering with joy."
"Only magic could create something like this—and only one kind of magic could make space celebrate... There’s only one field of magic we know capable of this, right?"
The two golems continued to watch the mansion, curiosity in their eyes—but they dared not leave their post.

Sigh!
Auran’s hands trembled slightly as he moved them delicately. From the tips of his fingers, an invisible wave of mana spread out, weaving an atmospheric structure in midair. As he injected the final bit of mana needed to complete this unknown construct—
Haaa!
He let out a heavy, tired breath. His hands dropped and his legs floated beside the structure. Since this was within his mind space, all it took was a single thought for him to fly.
"Time mana concentration... a one to two hundred percent increase compared to my regular time mana and the rift’s time mana. But the solution kept bugging up like a pain in the ass—unable to bear, unable to process, and even impossible to extract. Then there’s the price of preservation and the delay in time compression... the problems just kept piling on and on. If I had to say..." Auran spoke while turning his head to look at another figure floating beside him.
It looked just like Auran, only smaller in size and more youthful in appearance. It had no sign of self-awareness—more like a blank projection.
"Do you want to see the result that came after resolving all those questions—my own little image I crafted from thought?" he asked.
The figure didn’t respond.
"Say yes," Auran prompted.
"Yes," the figure said in a soft voice.
"Alright, let’s go. I’ll show this only to you—who is also me—from the time when I was desperate, hopeless, and almost ready to give up everything. I’ll show you the result of not giving up... and of continuing to push forward like the true genius you are."
With those words, Auran floated downward toward the massive structure at the center of his mind space. Even time itself seemed to bend around it—distorted and swallowed by the construct’s presence.
He landed on a platform that resembled giant doors leading into the heart of the structure. Guiding his smaller self closer, Auran reached out and pushed the doors open.
"Behold, my masterpiece—the library that records history," Auran declared as the giant doors opened, revealing the interior of the structure. At the same time, the entire mind space was suddenly overtaken by its overwhelming presence.
"Whoa," said the little Auran as he stepped inside. The interior of the building was mystical—records written in various languages floated everywhere, suspended in space. From time to time, new records would suddenly appear from nowhere and begin floating like the rest.
"What is this place? And how did you build it? Also, what happened to the time rift in your head?" asked the younger Auran, firing off several questions in one breath.
"Oh, slow down, little one. Also, you shouldn’t know about the time rift in my head—it appeared just a few months after your current point in memory," Auran muttered.
"But let me explain it in a way you can understand. Don’t blame me if it’s too complex—I’m a guy with self-confidence, while you’re also me, just with less confidence and a messier mind."
"However, to make this easier, we’ll skip over the part where the time rift first appeared."
"The first thing I did was to fully understand what was happening inside my head. The basic thing I knew at that point was that a rift in time had appeared out of nowhere, while I was absorbing time drops. For some unknown reason, those time drops provided me with knowledge."
That was the basic point I started from. From there, I progressed forward, slowly getting to understand everything.
The first thing I learned about was the two circles that revolve around time rift.
One of them is used to channel time and convert it into information. The other functions like a filter—its sole purpose is to draw out designated information from the informational time rift created by the first circle.
After that, I discovered a few more complicated aspects, which I’m sure you wouldn’t be able to understand even if I tried my hardest to explain—since you didn’t spend your time absorbing knowledge from time like I did.
However, after that point, I finally understood what I was working with. I had a basic idea of how to move forward—to eliminate the degree of death, enhance the effectiveness of the rift, and if possible, improve its usefulness even further, one step at a time.
