When Lu Xiao got off work that evening, she ran into a new security guard who had just started in the last couple of days right as she was leaving the office building.

Seeing her emerge, the guard hesitated for a moment before steeling himself and stepping forward. "Your Excellency Lu Xiao, are you free right now? There’s something I need to tell you. Of course, if you don’t have time, then... never mind."

Lu Xiao glanced over at Ares, who was waiting not far away, then turned to the new guard. "What is it?"

Seeing that Lu Xiao was willing to listen, the new guard quickly said, "Please, don’t be angry when I say this. Ansen asked me to give you a message. He said to thank you for not letting the Female Protection Association punish him, and that he won’t appear before you again."

Ares watched Lu Xiao return but didn’t ask what she had discussed with the man. Instead, he simply opened the car door for her.

He thanked me for not letting the Female Protection Association punish him and said he won’t show his face around me anymore. I told him to live a good life."

After speaking, Lu Xiao glanced at Ares and immediately changed the subject. "I’m craving cold noodles for dinner tonight. It’s a little too hot today."

"Your sister, Lu Huan, got into some trouble recently. Didn’t you know?"
