Heavenly Opposers-Chapter 273 - 272-First Target Done.
"Stop being so embarrassing! Aren’t you the older one here?!"
Kia shouted, her face full of shame at Braze’s actions, which had reached a whole new level. Azrail, with a smile, spoke.
"Um... I was planning on giving you a beautiful protector if you made it through the goal I gave you, but maybe it wasn’t meant to be."
Azrail’s reply seemed to put a twinkle in Braze’s eyes as he seemingly got energy back into his body. The man jumped up on his legs and shouted out.
"Well, that’ll do! Suddenly, I feel power coursing through my veins!"
"Are you sure it isn’t lust?"
Kia snorted, but Braze completely deflected her remark as he spoke with a hesitant expression.
"Hey, can you do this uncle a favor?"

His eyes sparkled like a kitten’s as he asked this. Azrail smiled and asked.
"What?"
Braze replied by pointing his hand towards the extremely handsome protectors as he pleaded.
"Can you at least make them less handsome?"
As he spoke of this, the man clutched his chest and continued.
"How do you think I feel standing beside them? It’s like throwing dirt on my face! My self-esteem takes a blow when I stand and fight beside them! Why the hell are they so good-looking?!"
As the man shouted this, Braze gave Azrail a side-eye, scrutinizing Azrail’s face. After which, the man deflated a little as he muttered.
"Just where did my nephew’s looks come from? The heavens are truly unfair..."
’Weren’t you boasting about how I got my good looks from the family when we met?’
Azrail mused internally, then waved his hand at his uncle as he spoke.
"Don’t mind them, just focus on getting stronger and mastering the moves you’ve chosen. You guys can also go harder on him."
Azrail’s ending words were directed at the protectors, who responded.
"Yes, master."
"Nooooo! Help!"
The crying calls of his uncle were heard as Azrail moved forth with Xuanyin and Kia, the latter enjoying the sight of her own brother being pummeled to near death. After walking some distance away, she asked.
"Are you really going to give him a beautiful protector if big brother Braze reaches his goal?"
To this, a sly smile appeared on Azrail’s face, one that definitely matched his mother’s. It was easily caught by Kia as Azrail spoke.
"I only said beautiful, right? Not a beautiful female protector?"
The subtle tease in Azrail’s voice made Kia’s eyes widen as she shook her head with a smile and spoke.
"You are definitely cruel..."
"Say that after you wipe the smirk from your face."
The two of them, aunt and nephew, giggled a little at the situation that was to come as they kept walking into a more secluded area. Azrail quickly got the attention of his grandfather and grandmother, who were going through their own things in learning and growth as Guo Ai spoke first.
"How is Braze doing?"
"Getting beaten up well."
Kia replied, to which Guo Ai responded.
"Good, tell them to go harder."
’Poor uncle,’
Azrail thought as he walked up to his grandfather, who asked.
"How long will it take to acquire the materials you wish to use to push for our own cultivation talent?"
Hearing his question, Azrail replied with a light smile.
"It will take some time. I want the best for my family, after all."
To which Guo Ai nodded his head. Azrail’s eyes went towards his grandmother, who had a light, loving smile on her face. She ruffled Azrail’s hair and placed a light kiss on Xuanyin’s head, which she couldn’t avoid, as Fulu Ai asked.
"How is the training going?"
"It’s going well for her,"
Azrail replied to Xuanyin, who refused to talk much. Seeing this, Fulu Ai just moved on to another topic.
"What about Miss Raena?"
To which Azrail replied.
"Probably drunk asleep somewhere."
His reply made his grandmother click her tongue at him as she spoke.
"Little Az, that’s no way to talk about your elders."
Her voice was teaching, to which Azrail acted like the perfect loving grandson as he replied.
"Okay, Grandma."
"Good."
She said, ruffling Azrail’s soft hair more as she asked another question.
"Where are you all headed?"
"I was just sitting in my room when Kia pulled me aside to this place. It seems she just wants to train more with me, and I thought we might spend some time together."
To Azrail’s reply, Fulu Ai nodded her head as she spoke.
"Good, all of you get to it."
Azrail started to walk but not before giving his grandmother one last look as he moved forward.
’Her path and learning of the Eyes of the Fallen is too fast,’
Azrail mused. Having used the status screen on all his family members, Azrail understood the deeper secrets hidden within this family that looked like the most normal ones in the lower heaven.
"So, you want to fight?"
Kia asked with an excited tone, to which Azrail spoke.
"Maybe later. Why don’t we just enjoy the air and talk for now?"
Azrail asked with a smile, subtly leaking out the major amount of charm he was holding at bay. The two-hit process made Kia fall into a daze. After a shake of her head, she spoke, running forth.
"Sure, let’s head to the garden bay!"
’Do you think I don’t see your reddened ears hiding your fast-beating heart?’
Azrail internally asked, knowing fully well how much Kia was struggling with all her internal thoughts. The emotions blooming in her heart were something she could not understand, which made it even worse for her—the taboo of the situation, the confusion—all making her feel a bit weary of what might happen.
’She is trying to push me away and keep me close at the same time.’
Sadly for her, no matter how hard she tries, what is going to happen is already fixed, because the days of her passion are going to start. When Azrail stands as her only greatest pillar, she will slowly fall into the webs that Azrail has prepared for her.
’Enjoy it all, because sadness and pain are coming.’
With such thoughts, Azrail, holding his sister’s hand, moved forth. The three of them spent time traveling around the garden, talking and enjoying each other’s company until it was time to rest and move on with their own activities for the day.
...
"Yan Xiang is dead,"
his mother spoke the moment Azrail walked into her room. Her words made Azrail smile as he spoke.
"So, how’s the situation?"
"It’s chaos. One of the most protected merchants of the Empire, with a cultivation level of peak Martial Spirit realm, just died—no noise and no backfighting. The assassination was extremely clean, making it one of the best."
Her words were filled with the greed flowing through Lan’s mind, to which Azrail, taking a seat in one of the chairs, asked.
"How is it internally?"
"It’s a mess. The legitimate successor and the bastards are trying everything for power. It’s an internal battle since this was all of a sudden and no one even saw it coming. Everyone is looking for a moment to strike."
His mother’s words made Azrail smile as he asked.
"But they won’t get anything, will they?"
"I might leave them some crumbs if I’m feeling like it,"
Lan replied with a smile.
