Ps. Not yet edited! Read the note under this Chapter ^_^.
,
Elder Wilmot stood up from his seat, "on behalf of the entire royal court, I welcome Your Highness King Eiravyn back to the kingdom. We are all excited to see you back safe and sound, and we are proud about the great news that have reached our ears."
Eiravyn nodded. His handsome and proud face seemed to look down on the ministers. "I am sure most of the elders and ministers missed their king a lot since I have received their well meaning calls and e-mails, especially with regard of my suitable bride. What do you think about the recent death of Lady Caroline who entered my chambers uninvited?"
With this, a sudden silence took over the royal court. Their king still had the same cold arrogant look on his face as he mentioned that incident that most considered a taboo, looking like it was the most refreshing thing he had ever done, the elders and nobles felt chills running down their skin, when they remembered that scene, as she was as killed in the town’s scaffold. The king made sure all his subject saw the scene to serve as a reminder. ’Such a devil, heartless killed the most beautiful lady in the entire kingdom!’ Was all the elders could think of.
But the elders still did not learn as they continued pushing their next candidate on him, right now they were sure Lady Ava was a safe bet, since the king was attached to her from birth reasons why they thought, he would never do anything to hurt her. So Elder Wilmot pressed on,
"We heard about the news yesterday and that you would be announcing to us our new queen. Is that true my king?" Elder Wilmot questioned eagerly.
Eiravyn’s brows lifted ever so slightly, this was what he was waiting for and he was not about to miss this opportunity. "Indeed, Elder Wilmot, don’t you think that is a great news. Where your source is from, they did a great work and deserve an increase." Eiravyn praised with a mocking smirk on his face.
But the elder didn’t notice this and all of them started pouring their praise on him. "Indeed, indeed! Our king will soon welcome an amazing queen!" One minister praise, and the others started smiling at each other.
One of the more experienced ministers stood up from his chair and bowed towards the king. "Your Majesty, we all would like to congratulate you on your soon to be marriage. This is such a joyous celebration indeed and most definitely deserving of a banquet celebration where we can all eat and drink to our satisfaction."
"You’ve said it well Minister Osmund, our king has made us proud again."
"May the king and our soon to be queen live king and have a happy married life and bless this kingdom with the next generation of the royal family." One ministers said and all the elders stood up and turned to bow to their king.
Eiravyn accepted their wishes with a smirk. He looked at the officials trying to flatter him and could not help the wicked grin that came to settle on his face as he knew that he had got them and now the shocking revelation would come next. Eiravyn almost burst out in laughter and he was sure his right hand man was enjoying this more than him.
The elders were all smiles as they finally turned to Lord Chamberlain with their faces full of accomplishment after they finished congratulating the king, they turned and started congratulating him as well.
Eiravyn turned to look at the ministers like they were beneath him, his eyes glittering with amusement, "Now, let’s get straight to the real matter of discussion shall we?" Eiravyn said with a eerie smile that creeped the elders out, some knew what was about to be said by their king while others refused to believe it until they heard directly from their king.
The whole court was suddenly very quiet, as the elders chanted eagerly for the rumors to stay a rumored and nothing else but that.
"I am sure most of you heard that I had gone to the human realm last month and that i came back with a human..." Eiravyn paused, as he ran his tongue over his fangs, daring anyone to oppose him.
"I came back just yesterday and I am happy to announce to you that I have found my mate who shall rule along side me as your queen and I hope you all have no objections over your king’s decision." Eiravyn asked, his voice draped with a dangerous tone, as he looked at th left side of the hall and then at the right side.
The whole room was silent and nobody dared to speak but one minister could not bear the silent anymore and stood up to speak. "Your Majesty, you are yet to tell us who this mate is and who you will be crowning." He said and the whole court hummed their agreement to his word.
Eiravyn smirked, "I see..." he trailed off before replying as he leaned his head against the chair, giving off an imposing look, before he leaned back to look at the minister who had questioned him.
"There’s no need for that since, you already congratulated me or do you want to take back your word."
The man stepped back in shock at the sudden accusation that might cause him his head. "I wouldn’t dare Your Majesty. But we would still like to know who this special someone is?"
"No need for that as I am sure you all will like her very much and you will get to see her in the banquet tonight."
Eiravyn’s words were vague that made the elders and ministers very confused, they realized to late that they had fall for King Eiravyn trapped and he had used them to his adavanag. And now they had to wait for the banquet to know who he was talking about. Some felt it was Lady Ava while some were not too sure.
