Her Dark Desires-Chapter 40: Eliana’s outburst

Sloane entered the room and saw Eliana staring at the ceiling. She frowned and wondered if the loss of her child had made her lose her mind.

"Eliana." She softly called out but there was no response. Sloane sighed and walked towards the bed. She held Eliana’s hand and called to her again, and this time, Eliana finally looked at her mother. A hint of surprise was in her eyes as she saw Sloane standing beside her and holding her hand.

"I heard what happened and I’m so sorry, Eliana. Such a thing should never have happened to you." Sloane said with a tear rolling down her eyes.

Was her mother crying for her? Eliana asked herself. It felt strange to see her mother cry for her. It made her feel that maybe her mom did love her, and for the first time since she woke up, Eliana opened her mouth to say something when Sloane suddenly spoke

"Now that you have lost the Sanders heir, it will only be a matter of time before Zach replaces you," Sloane said, caressing Eliana’s hair. "Remember that the only reason he first married you was because you were pregnant with his child, and now that the child is lost, he no longer has any reason to keep you."

Hearing no reply from her, Sloane smiled softly and continued "But I am here for you. I will never let him or anyone else toss you aside. After all, you are my daughter. Do not worry about a thing because I have come up with a solution. Now that you are no longer pregnant, why don’t you convince Zach to take in Amber as his mistress? Amber will be able to bear him a child, and I assure you that, after giving birth to the child, it will be handed to you. That way you get to keep your husband and still give him a child." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Eliana still kept silent but tightly clenched her bedsheet.

"Listen to me Eliana, this isn’t the time to be selfish. Think of Zach, who was expecting that child, and because of your carelessness, it was lost. Your baby is gone, the one thing that brought you and Zach together is forever gone, and I want to help you bring it back. Your sister Amber doesn’t mind conceiving Zach’s child, and the child will still be yours. And besides, I think it’s better that you lost the child because a child born from an illicit affair, will be looked at with scorn." Sloane said softly, she leaned forward to kiss Eliana on her forehead and said, "Think of what I said and get well soon."

Eliana suddenly lost her grip on the bedsheet as she saw her Mom leaving. She got up from the bed and carried the small glass flower vase beside her, and she rushed to the woman who called herself her mother and smashed it on her head.

Sloane turned around with a petrified look on her face as her vision suddenly became blurred. She placed a hand on the back of her head and could feel the warm sticky liquid flowing from her head. "Have you gone crazy?"

Crazy? Feeling anger coursing through her veins, Eliana pushed Sloane down the floor with a scream and started slapping and pushing her in the face, and this was the scene Zach met when he opened the door.

Ryan and Charlotte, who were behind him, looked at the scene in shock and only came out of it after Zach pulled Eliana away from her mother.

"Shit. Ryan go call the doctor." Charlotte shouted but Ryan still stood there looking at a barely conscious Sloane.

Charlotte glared at her son and hit him in his chest as she said, "Go get the damn doctor."

Ryan nodded and left to call the doctor.

Zach, on the other hand, held Eliana tightly and refused to let her go even as she struggled in his arms. He looked at Sloane, who was breathing heavily with her face swollen and heavily bruised.

Just then, the doctor came in, and he too, froze at the scene before him.

"Give her something to calm down," Zachary shouted at the doctor, and immediately the doctor responded and injected Eliana with an injection he took from his office when Ryan had told him that the patient had gone out of control, but this was not something he was expecting.

Eliana slowly calmed down after the injection and she slowly lost consciousness in Zachary’s arms.

Zachary held her close and carried her back to the bed.

A few seconds later, two nurses came with a stretcher and carried Sloane out of the room.

The doctor sighed and looked at Zach as he said "I think I should report this to the police."

"Then maybe you should stop thinking. Nothing happened, and besides, you didn’t witness anything so just do your job and treat her, okay?" Charlotte asked with a cold smile.

The doctor cleared his throat and nodded, he glanced at the shattered vase on the floor before leaving.

"I guess the professional help we called now needs help," Charlotte said with a slight smile on her face.

"I wondered what happened. What could Sloane have said to her to make her react like that?" Ryan asked in concern.

Zachary didn’t say anything, he just sat beside her and kissed her forehead.

"We will be outside if you need us," Charlotte said and both she and Ryan left the couple alone.

Charlotte looked at her son and said, "Stay here in case your brother needs you."

"And where are you going?"

"To ensure the doctor doesn’t make a mistake because he is nervous and also to go laugh at Sloane’s broken nose," Charlotte said with a smile and left.

Meanwhile, inside the ward, Zach watched as his wife slept peacefully and hoped she wasn’t having any nightmares. He brought her hand to his lips and whispered, "Everyone responsible for your condition will pay. I will hunt them down and take their lives just as they took our little treasure away from us."
