His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 184: How Could He Possibly Love Kiana Sutton
In the past, Ethan Sinclair didn’t like her staring at him one bit.
Every time he caught her sneaking a look at him, he’d threaten viciously to gouge her eyes out.
But today, it sounded like he was complaining she didn’t look at him enough.
And what did Connor Grant mean earlier by "lover"?
So, he thought she was having an affair and came to catch them in the act?
He thought that if he caught her red-handed, he could drag her to Grandma to get a divorce?
Unfortunately, the person she was having dinner with was Zoe Xavier, not some lover.
Thinking of this, Kiana Sutton started to feel upset.
Suddenly, Ethan Sinclair’s voice sounded, "Did my mom look for you today just to have dinner? Or did she say something to you?"
Kiana Sutton was still angry and didn’t want to bother with Ethan Sinclair, but those dark, sharp eyes stared at her so intently that her scalp tingled. She had no choice but to gesture with her hand, "It’s a secret, I’m not telling you."
"A secret? Ha... I didn’t know you two were so chummy now."
Hearing Ethan Sinclair’s mocking tone, Kiana Sutton’s heart felt pricked. He probably thought she was trying to please Zoe Xavier just to avoid the divorce.
Kiana Sutton had thought Ethan Sinclair wouldn’t just let it slide when she didn’t apologize to Kate Lynch, yet to her surprise, after waiting several days, Ethan hadn’t mentioned a word about it.
Oddly enough, she noticed lately that Ethan seemed to be observing her, and his sharp gaze often landed on her as if trying to see right through her.
Every time Kiana Sutton felt uneasy and looked over, she’d see him frowning, scribbling something on paper, then scratching it out in irritation after a while.
Occasionally, when their eyes met, he’d glare at her like a guilty person caught in the act, getting angry and embarrassed, "What are you looking at, get out!"
Kiana Sutton: "..."
This guy, he’s going crazy again.
Lately, Ethan Sinclair has been caught in a vicious cycle.
While Evercrest Group is steadily progressing, he, the CEO, starts considering emotional matters.
On his desk lay two sheets of A4 paper. One listed Kiana Sutton’s flaws.
"Plain-looking, eyes a bit too big, nose a bit too small, lips a bit too thick."
"Average figure, flat chest, small butt, also very short."
"Crybaby!"
"Disobedient!"
"Calculating and cunning!"
"No other skills, 100% at angering people."
"Stubborn as a mule."
"Loves him too much."
The other sheet listed Kiana Sutton’s strengths.
"Body is quite soft, comfortable to hold, has a sleep-inducing effect. Crossed out, holding her is no different from hugging a pillow."
"Looks quite nice when smiling. Crossed out, flaunts her big white teeth all day."
"Quite well-behaved when not angering people. Crossed out, there’s never a time she doesn’t anger people."
Ethan Sinclair slammed the pen onto the desk heavily, damned Kiana Sutton, she really has no redeeming qualities!
"If she clearly has a bunch of flaws, yet you find them insignificant and still want to be with her, then congratulations, you’ve already fallen hopelessly in love."
Julian Garrison’s words floated back into Ethan Sinclair’s ears one by one. He cursed under his breath, feeling even more irritated.
Him, love Kiana Sutton?
How could that be possible?
No way, never in this lifetime!
...
Lately, he’s been swamped with work, so when the weekend finally came, Ethan Sinclair just wanted to relax for a couple of days.
Ethan had assumed that with him being home, Kiana Sutton would surely be eager to come to him, offering all kinds of hospitality and seeking his attention.
Unexpectedly, on Saturday morning right after breakfast, Kiana Sutton returned to her room and didn’t come out all morning.
After lunch, she quickly went back to her room, sneaking around doing something unknown.
Feeling thoroughly ignored, Ethan Sinclair called Chelsea Chapman out.
"Master, what’s the matter?"
Holding a book, Ethan Sinclair glanced nonchalantly out the window, "Don’t you think the weather’s nice today?"
Chelsea Chapman looked bewildered, what kind of a blow had Fifth Master Sinclair received to actually discuss the weather with her?
"Hehe, yes, it is nice."
Ethan Sinclair found Chelsea Chapman usually quite smart—was she getting stupid from spending so much time with Kiana Sutton?
"Weren’t you just saying you wanted some barbecue a few days ago?"
Chelsea Chapman’s eyes lit up, "Really? But didn’t you say the smell was too much?"
"If you don’t want it, then forget it."
"I do, I do... I’ll get ready."
"Get Kiana Sutton to come help you grill. What is she up to in her room on a weekend?"
"Okay, okay, I’ll go right now."
Thinking of the barbecue, Chelsea Chapman hurried to Kiana Sutton’s room.
"Young Madam, the Master agreed to let us have a barbecue at home today."
Hearing Chelsea Chapman’s voice, Kiana Sutton quickly hid what was in her hand.
Just as she finished hiding it, Chelsea Chapman walked in, "Young Madam, what are you doing? The Master has been home all day, why don’t you keep him company?"
Kiana Sutton didn’t know why Ethan Sinclair was home today, but with Joshua Sutton about to leave the country soon, she as the sister had to personally make something for Joshua.
Yet, though she could draw, she was terrible at crafting.
So, before the final product was finished, she didn’t want anyone to see it.
"I was just drawing, are we really having a barbecue at home?"
Chelsea Chapman only heard the first part, shocked, "What? Do you now prefer drawing to seeing the Master?"
Kiana Sutton’s heart skipped a beat and she quickly covered Chelsea Chapman’s mouth.
No way, you can’t say that!
If Ethan Sinclair heard, he’d make her life miserable.
"Don’t talk nonsense, I’m just rushing my sketches."
Chelsea Chapman chuckled, "I knew it, you love the Master so much, how could you not want to see him, let’s go, barbecue is more important."
As they headed out, Connor Grant had already bought the ingredients and grilling tools, and had begun working.
Chelsea Chapman immediately ran over excitedly, "Connor Grant, I’ll help you."
Kiana Sutton glanced at Ethan Sinclair. Today, he was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt and white casual pants. When he’s not at work, his hair falls freely, making him less sharp and cold, and adding a touch of gentleness.
During lunch, her mind was filled with knitting tutorials for scarves, so she hadn’t paid much attention to him.
Looking at him now, she felt as if she was seeing him from their university days, enthralled, she couldn’t help but smile.
Noticing Kiana Sutton’s gaze on him, Ethan Sinclair looked at her calmly, "What? Never seen someone this handsome?"
Indeed, Ethan Sinclair was good-looking, and also truly narcissistic.
Fearing that being with him would lead to angering him inadvertently, Kiana Sutton gestured lightly, "I’ll go help out too."
Having just struck a cool pose, waiting for Kiana Sutton to voluntarily sit by his side, the Fifth Master: "..."
