His Toxic Addiction-Chapter 381: Ten Kids.
Chapter 381: Ten Kids.
Seeing Collins having fun with her misfortune, she realized she had been abandoned by them all concerning this. Having no one to turn to, Arissa turned to Nicklaus for help, "Nick," she needed someone to speak up for her. Collins seems to have joined Jocelyn and Adele.
Nicklaus’s long fingers trailed down Arissa’s neck. His black eyes bored into her brown ones and he said, "I think they are right on this. You shouldn’t bother yourself,"
Arissa frowned. She turned to him to help her and he decided to join them. Her curiosity was high at the moment. Whenever Adele and Jocelyn share a wink that way, it means a lot of things.
They have done it a couple of times in the past and the case has never been favorable with her at the end.
Seeing Arissa feeling so alone and devastated, Adele decided to ask another question and let go of the one she and Jocelyn asked themselves with their eyes. "How many more kids are on the way?" she asked, sounding less suspicious as she placed both fists under her chin and relaxed on the couch.
Arissa wiggled her brows, "I can tell this wasn’t what you were about to ask earlier," she called them out.
Adele stretched her legs out and shrugged her shoulders once more. "I’ll make up for that but for now, answer this first," she bargained.
Arissa rolled her eyes and relaxed properly on Nicklaus, "One," she gave out a one-word reply and one could tell that their joke earlier got her.
Adele’s face dropped, "Just one?" she relaxed into her seat and added, "I expected to always visit a house filled with kids,"
Arissa’s lips struggled to hide her smile when she heard Adele’s words. She also wishes for that but two kids should be enough.
Nicklaus shook his head at Adele’s thought. Joining the conversation, he questioned, "How many more kids do you suggest we should have?"
Adele remained silent and after a few seconds, she raised both of her hands to him, "I think ten kids would be best. She can’t share her beauty with just two souls,"
Arissa’s jaw drooped to the floor. Jocelyn’s eyes widened and Collins’s expression remained neutral.
Nicklaus chuckled as the corner of his lips curled up into a slow smirk. "That a good idea," he murmured lowly.
Arissa blinked in disbelief and started up at him, "What? You are so unbelievable," she hissed and sat up.
His reply was so unexpected.
Adele winked at him in a very funny way and Nicklaus’s smirk turned into a small smile. "That was a mare suggestion, Love," he coaxed her and added immediately, "But adding one more wouldn’t be hard, would it?"
Arissa did not reply to that. She gave him a disbelieving look and relaxed her back on the couch.
Jocelyn watched the show before her and as if she did not see the drama going on before them, she threw another question into the questioning ground.
"Should we pick names now?" her voice sounded expectant. She wished for a yes as she already had a dozen offers in her head. She even planned to blend her name and Arissa’s name into something reasonable if it would be a girl.
However, Arissa did not give her the reply she had expected.
"We have," Arissa answered, leaving Jocelyn dumbfounded. Jocelyn let out a low grunt and Adele had a pleased expression on her face as if laughing at Jocelyn for not beating her on this.
Arissa began to feel sleepy as more emotions covered her inside. She can’t fully explain how she felt but her hands on the couch trembled and Nickalus caught sight of them. He placed a hand over one of her trembling ones closest to him. freёnovelkiss-com
Arissa tilted her head to him and he smiled encouragingly and darted his gaze towards Collins.
"We would be leaving now," he told Collins and faced Adele and Jocelyn, "Thanks for keeping her company but she has to take a rest now," he explained and stood up, holding Arissa’s hand.
The three people in the living room nodded in agreement. Arissa took in a deep breath and interlocked her fingers with Nicklaus.
"I want to go home," she said softly and rubbed on her stomach.
"Alright," Nicklaus accepted, "Seat here for a few minutes let me fetch your belongings,"
She nodded and he gently helped her to relax back on the couch before walking towards the staircase.
Collins stood up from his couch and walked towards her. Taking the space beside her, he held her hand and wrapped it with both of his hands.
"How do you feel?"
Arissa looked at their hands and into his eyes. She smiled softly before replying, "I feel okay, just super tired and stressed out,"
Collins gave her a thin smile, That’s okay. It’s your first child after all. You will get used to it soon," he explained.
Arissa nodded, "I do not hate the feeling of it. I only pray it gets better and I get used to it," she said to him, holding his gaze.
Collins smiled, "I understand," he brought her hand to his lips and pressed a hot kiss on it. After that, he let go of her hand and stared at her stomach, "Can I feel the baby? Just for a second?"
Arissa’s face twisted in an amused manner, "Sure," she agreed immediately, "You do not have to ask as if you are a stranger to me,"
Collins scratched his head nervously, "Err.. Forgive me if you found that offensive," he apologized. He slowly took his hand to her stomach and slowly rubbed it.
He held Arissa’s eyes and smiled at her. She smiled back and he continued before locking eyes with Jocelyn and passing his gaze over to Adele.
He stood up from the couch and the moment he did, he caught sight of Nicklaus descending the staircase with their phones and Arissa’s purse.
His aura was strong and intimidating. Collins immediately guessed the reason for such emotions. He must have seen him so close to Arissa.
Acting like he did nothing, he faced Adele and started a conversation with her.
