I Awakened An Outer God Class-Chapter 40: University Screening [3]
After the second test, which lasted an hour, it was already close to four o’clock.
The glaring sun above had already gone as the neon lights lit up early within the auditorium.
Professor Alan was once again standing on the stage with a mic in his hand as he looked at the students.
He fixed his moustache before raising the mic to his mouth once again.
"Onto the next test." He said in a deep voice. "Show of skills by battle."
A buzz of excitement covered the entire auditorium as the students excitedly looked at each other.
Mikhail remained calm while Kevin had an annoyed look on his face.
Having lost to Mikhail in the last round, he had been hoping to fight him in this one.
Professor Alan let the students talk before he said once again. "The students can pair up themselves. Remember, it’s a show of skill so don’t hurt your classmates."
Just as he finished speaking, students began to pair up among themselves.
Those who couldn’t find any partners were being paired up randomly by the teachers.
Mikhail and Kevin remained standing by each other’s side without saying a word.
It was obvious to everyone present that they had picked each other.
"Should we just put on a show?" Mikhail asked quietly. "Would you like me to go easy on you?"
Kevin let out a soft chuckle. "How are you going to do that?" He asked, pointing at Methew sitting on Mikhail’s shoulder. "By sending him to fight me?"
Mikhail tilted his head slightly.
"Don’t take Methew lightly." He said. "This guy knows how to fight."
Kevin was about to reply when he saw someone walking towards them.
Brandon, the mayor’s son, stood in front of them and gave them a cold look.
"Pair up with me." He said to Mikhail. "I have to wipe the smugness off your face."
Mikhail gave him an amused look. "Why should I?"
"You are afraid, aren’t you?" Brandon sneered. "Afraid that I will humiliate you in front of everyone."
"You should—."
"Shut up, coward!" Brandon snapped. "Accept my request otherwise I will obliterate your father’s business."
"..."
Mikhail blinked his eyes and stared dead into his. He couldn’t help but curl up his lips. "...You really are pushing your luck here."
Brandon didn’t back down. "Accept my request."
Mikhail let out a sigh and replied. "Fine."
With a grunt Brandon walked away, leaving behind Kevin and Mikhail.
Kevin said softly. "He is getting on my nerves."
He glanced at Mikhail and smiled. "I think it’s time for his father to retire."
Mikhail smiled back. "Whatever you say, King."
Just as they finished talking, Professor Alan cleared his throat. "Ahem! Who would like to go first!"
Mikhail walked to the centre while all the other students moved towards the spectator seats.
Alan walked towards the ground and asked Mikhail. "Who are you going against?"
"It’s me!" A voice echoed within the place as Brandon walked towards them.
He wore a smug face as he walked with a longsword in his hand.
Professor Alan frowned. "Weapons are not allowed—."
Before he could finish, a voice echoed from the observation pod. "Let him use it."
Startled, Alan looked up and nodded before glancing at Mikhail. "Do you wish to use any weapon?"
Mikhail shook his head. "I am fine without it."
His eyes flickered towards the pod. ’Was it Madam Liliana who gave the permission?’
Alan didn’t say anything else and took a few steps back, urging both of them to get ready.
Mikhail glanced at Methew who was sitting on his shoulder comfortably. "Mind zapping him for me?"
Methew blinked his eyes before he jumped down and walked forward.
Brandon looked at him in confusion. "What are you doing?"
"I am a tamer." He replied with a shrug. "I don’t fight, my beast does."
The boy with snow white hair gritted his teeth. "Are you making fun of me?"
"I am merely doing what I know."
Brandon drew in a deep breath before he raised his longsword.
"Fine!" He yelled. "If you want to get your pet killed so badly then let me do it!!"
Alan looked at Mikhail for confirmation. "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Mikhail was sure that Methew was evolving just like he was. It was hard to pinpoint but Methew was growing at an incredible speed.
Alan didn’t say anything else. He raised his hand and announced. "Begin!"
Raising his sword, Brandon rushed at Methew to vent his frustration.
He planned to cut the beast in half and then laugh at Mikhail.
Methew, quick on his feet, rushed in as well. Brandon swung his sword diagonally.
The cat jumped up and used the longsword as a foothold to leap towards Brandon.
The young boy couldn’t help but yell as the cat used its paw to hang on his face.
"Meowtherfucker!!"
A ball of electricity rushed out of the yellow cat and surged into the boy.
"Arhhhh!!!"
Brandon yelled and stopped as his entire nervous system shut down for a second.
He fell to his knees while the cat jumped back.
Just as he got a hold of his senses, Brandon saw something rushing towards his face.
Bam!!
Mikhail’s punch connected cleanly with his jaw, making a cracking sound that resonated through the place.
Brandon lost consciousness for a second time as Mikhail put his knee on his chest and pushed him down.
As Brandon’s back hit the ground, Mikhail clenched his teeth and punched his face again.
He punched Brandon again and again and again.
Only when he heard Professor Alan yelling behind him did he stop.
Mikhail used [Black Spike] and stabbed Brandon on his shoulder to jolt him awake with a scream.
He struggled to breathe while Mikhail leaned forward, staring into his groggy eyes.
"Do not touch my family." Mikhail said in a low voice so only he could hear. "Otherwise you wouldn’t like the ending."
He dissolved the spike and stepped back before Alan could drag him away.
With a sigh, he took Methew and walked towards the spectator seats, which were eerily silent.

Inside the observation pod, Mayor Alex was having a hard time controlling his anger.
As he watched his son being lifted out of the auditorium, he felt a pang of pain in his heart.
He wanted to check on him but held himself back.
’Mikhail.’ He thought through his anger. ’I will make sure you regret ever touching....’
His thoughts died when he turned to look at Ma’am Liliana.
....The scarlet haired woman was grinning ear to ear, her smile was ridiculous like she had found the most valuable gem.
"He used more than one skill." Her voice echoed, making everyone freeze inside the pod.
Liliana stood up and picked up her briefcase.
"Arrange a room!" She said hurriedly. "I want to interview Mikhail."
