His mind was already clouded by a haze when he returned eighteen years ago, and he only came back because of someone’s order.

That order was to find a particular treasure, if there was any, in Peach Village.

Miguel thought about it and realized that the person behind Jonas’ might also be the person who ordered the assassin to kill the bandits as well as the hostages.

Miguel smiled to himself. "I see. It all makes sense now."

All this while, that person had always known that Aaliyah’s treasure was real. ’They’ obtained the fake map that Aaliyah created and had always believed that it was the real deal.

However, a few hundred years had already passed since the Fiery Empress’ passing, yet ’they’ still had not found the treasure she left behind.

At this point, ’they’ must have already realized that the map was fake.

That person might have grown impatient and, hence, decided to make a move once more after hundreds of years.

Knowing that Peach Village has some connection to Aaliyah, ’they’ secretly controlled Jonas to return to the village and search for the treasure.

Not only this. Miguel guessed that Jonas was not the only person tasked with finding a certain and particular treasure. ’They’ might have ordered a lot of mercenaries ’they’ secretly controlled to go to possible treasure hiding spots, and the bandit leader happened to catch one of those mercenaries during his travels and learned of the existence of that treasure and the map as well.

Edith saw Miguel’s smile and got curious about it. Miguel did not hide anything and told her all about his speculations and hypotheses.

After a while, Edith also chuckled at how small the world was.

She also expressed her praise for how simple yet impressive Aaliyah’s actions were before her death.

Imagine fooling someone even hundreds of years after your death.

That person must have been fuming in anger for years after they realized that the treasure map they had was actually fake.

"What a mischievous girl!" Edith chuckled amusedly.

Miguel also shook his head in amusement. Her plan was quite simple, but it was very effective.

The next moment, Miguel suddenly realized someone was approaching their room with his [Divine Sense].

The footsteps were unfamiliar, and he realized that they were not those of a martial artist.

He then told Edith to wear her mask as well before he hurriedly dispelled the [Concealment Barrier] that had been active since Erika was here earlier.

After a while, Miguel and Edith heard a light knock on the door.

Miguel opened it up and saw that it was a girl in maid’s clothing.

She bowed and said respectfully, "Dinner is ready, My Lord."

Miguel nodded his head and said, "Alright, lead us the way."

The servant nodded and began to lead Miguel and Edith toward the dining area.

Alderic had already invited all of them to a feast earlier, and it would seem rude if he did not go. He was also pretty hungry anyway. He looked forward to the kind of food he would be able to eat this time around.

Along the way, Miguel and Edith saw the others coming out of their respective rooms as well.

Upon seeing Miguel and Edith, they immediately approached and greeted both of them with a smile full of gratitude on their faces.

Miguel and Edith merely nodded back at them, not disregarding their gratitude toward them.

After a while, all of them finally reached the dining area with the help of the servants.

It was a very spacious hall, with a long table set up in the middle. A variety of food was lined up on the table grandly, as everyone’s eyes sparkled upon seeing such an appetizing scene.

As they entered the dining hall, everyone’s attention was suddenly caught by a sudden shout in front of them.

"What!? How can you kill him just like that?"
