I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 133: Forge’s Haven
Miguel had always been a foodie, even in his previous life. His desire had only been curbed during his later years, as he focused on accumulating knowledge and searching for a breakthrough method at that time.
Looking back, he could no longer recall when he became someone who loved to eat during his spare time.
After a few minutes of waiting, the waiter finally came back with the first dish.
The reason why this restaurant was famous all throughout the city was because they used graded beast meat for some of their dishes.
Of course, in return, their dishes were also a little pricey, with the least expensive costing 10 Gold Coins per serving.
Rich mercenaries who like to treat themselves to a hearty meal after a tiring mission often come here to indulge themselves.
As per ’Journey’s’ instruction, Vena also joined in to eat after she declined his offer a few times already.
Miguel enjoyed the food very much, and he was very full after the last dish was served.
Vena and Edith just ate a portion while Miguel finished the remaining ones.
Miguel paid 210 Gold Coins in total after they were done eating.
After that, he told Vena that he wanted to go to a store that sells graded items next.
Vena nodded her head and told him that she knew such a place that had a good reputation among the mercenaries and people of Red Cliff City.
With Vena leading the way, they walked the bustling streets of Red Cliff City and finally arrived at a shop that emanated a distinct aura of craftsmanship.
Even from afar, Miguel was already able to see the assortment of crafted weapons and armor displayed behind the glass windows. Above the entrance hung a sign that read, "Forge’s Haven.".
Vena led them inside; the air was thick with the scent of molten metal, and the rhythmic clang of a hammer on the anvil echoed in the background.
According to Vena, this store was famous and had a good reputation due to their high-quality, personally forged items. The most famous blacksmiths in Red Cliff City actually gathered in this place to receive service or requests from others and display their forged items in front.
In front, the items they forged were displayed, while at the back was where the blacksmith forged the items.
Vena, Miguel, and Edith approached the counter, exchanging respectful nods with the elderly blacksmith attending the store. "Welcome, travelers," the blacksmith greeted them warmly. "How may I assist you today?"
The elderly blacksmith looked at their get-up and realized at a glance that they were not simple, especially the mask worn by Miguel and Edith. As a blacksmith, he knew that these two masks were not something ordinary.
Miguel looked around and realized that there was no anvil displayed on the shelves in front.
"I’m looking for an anvil, one that could withstand extreme heat and could be used to forge graded items," he explained to the elderly blacksmith.
Aaliyah was already a good blacksmith and was only lacking the necessary tools. With her skills and the materials he collected from the beasts he killed before, making one or more graded items would not be impossible.
The blacksmith, a seasoned expert in his trade, nodded in understanding. "Ah, I see, so you’re a craftsman. We have just the anvil for you." He led them to a corner of the shop and uncovered a spot where a series of anvils were placed.
The anvils looked old and seemed as if they had been stored there for a while.
Blacksmiths that were able to forge rare-grade items were far and few in Red Cliff City. These anvils had actually been stocked here for more than a year already, as blacksmiths rarely replaced their anvils if they had already chosen a good one.
"This is our collection of good anvils forged out of boredom by our blacksmiths. They had been sitting there for a long time already. Well, choose whatever you like and I’ll quote you the price," the elderly blacksmith explained honestly.
Miguel’s eyes narrowed at the sight in front of him. He examined the anvils closely and read the descriptions provided at the bottom of the anvils as to what sort of metal they were made of.
After some time, Miguel’s eyes were finally attracted to one particular anvil situated at the center of them all. This was the biggest and looked very crude compared to others. However, what made Miguel’s eyes attracted to it was the material that it was made of.
According to the description below, it was forged out of Volcanic Iron, a special iron that was rare and was usually found in the mouth of an active volcano.
Miguel pointed at the crude-looking anvil and asked, "Is the description below it real? Who made such a crude-looking anvil out of such a rare material?"
Even though he did not know exactly what level of material the Volcanic Iron was, his intuition was still telling him that it was rare.
The elderly blacksmith scoffed and looked irritated. "Of course it’s real. You are looking at the person who made such a ’crude’ anvil, so I can confirm that it is truly made of the rare Volcanic Iron."
"Anyways, I did not even intend it to become an anvil. It’s just that my capabilities are not enough, and I don’t have the kind of fire that could completely melt such a material, hence the result that you are seeing now."
"In the entire city, no one has the capability to forge a proper item out of this metal at all; hence, we just let it settle here along with the other anvils."
"Although it looked crude, we could not deny that it still looked like an anvil and that it was made out of such a rare metal. As it is not perfect, I’ll sell it to you for 1,000 Gold Coins. No haggling. The efforts required to get such a material were not easy," he stated firmly.
