I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 150: Extraordinary Grimoire
Not only Damian, even his grimoire also felt fidgety for some reason.
Damian ignored these thoughts as he closed his eyes to begin the heavenly vow.
Miguel did the same and followed his lead. He didn’t know how the heavenly vow of this world worked, so he could only follow Damian’s steps silently.
A moment later, Damian opened his eyes as his Silver Grade Grimoire glowed in front of them.
As a response, Miguel’s grimoire also did the same, but the glow was much more intense, making Damian’s grimoire’s glow pale in comparison.
The two grimoires floated toward each other, as though a magnet of opposite poles.
Damian’s grimoire trembled and was restless as it came closer and closer.
The next moment, the two grimoires touched as an explosion of mild light filled Miguel and Damian’s vision.
The heavenly vow was made just like that, with Damian representing the Red Family, and Miguel as Journey.
Damian’s grimoire hurriedly retreated; it was extremely afraid of Miguel’s grimoire. Damian could not help but be confused by the action of his grimoire.
Meanwhile, Miguel’s grimoire just calmly floated back towards him, as though nothing had happened.
As the heavenly vow was made, Miguel also felt something tying his whole being together. He was not a stranger to this feeling, though, as this was the same feeling he had back then when he made a heavenly vow in his previous life.
However, for some reason, the ’feeling’ also disappeared as soon as it appeared. It was as though it were just a mere illusion.
Miguel looked over at Damian and noticed that he looked tired. This was a normal side effect after making a heavenly vow.
In his previous life, this side effect would have been present no matter how strong the person who made the heavenly vow was.
Miguel did not feel like he was suffering such side effects, though. He wondered what caused it to happen.
After thinking for a bit, Miguel could only attribute it to the grimoire.
His grimoire had always been mysterious, and it always performed something that other grimoires could not do.
It could even store and absorb his Origin Energy, a higher-grade energy compared to the Grimoire Summoning Energy that other grimoires normally use.
It was out of the norm, and its real origin was a mystery to Miguel.
Damian looked at Journey and noticed how unfazed he was, even after making a heavenly vow. It made him think that there was still more to Journey’s strength than what they had gathered so far.
Anyway, after Damian rested for a bit, he unsummoned his grimoire and then led Miguel to a special guest quarter befitting of his status.
According to him, they will announce his identity tomorrow, and then after that, they will hand him some of what he demanded from their deal earlier.
As Miguel walked right behind Damian, he also observed his surroundings—the Red Family’s main headquarters.
The villa was very large. True to their name, the buildings around here were made with the theme of red in mind.
People came to and fro around; most of them have red hair, a characteristic that most members of the Red Family have, especially the direct descendants like Erika and even Gasper.
Miguel also saw a lot of martial artists around. It seemed that the Red Family was not that narrow-minded to just focus on nurturing summoners. After all, not everyone could awaken a grimoire, even if they came from a well-known grimoire summoner family like the Red Family.
Aside from them, Miguel also saw youngsters training with their contracted beasts. Some of them were even accompanied by their elders, who instructed them on what to do.
The villa was bustling and full of activity.
Miguel even saw Erika touring the awakened youngsters of Peach Village around the villa.
After a while, Damian finally stopped right in front of a huge door.
"This will be your temporary living quarters, Elder Journey. I will return later to let you choose the villa of your liking around Blazing City," Damian stated respectfully as he opened the huge door.
The feats that he witnessed in person earlier had unknowingly made him grow a considerable amount of respect for ’Journey.’
"If you are in need of some service, you can simply ring that bell over there, and a servant will come over to serve you."
He then bowed respectfully, his figure leaving Miguel and Edith’s vision a moment later.
Miguel went inside the room and inspected everything around him cautiously.
There were all kinds of Innate Skills in this world.
That Tiger Soul Bandit leader before was even able to restrict Edith, a Gold Grade Beast, for a few seconds, even though he was just a low-level summoner.
One could only imagine what sort of Innate Skill he would encounter in the future.
Miguel even guessed that the person who controlled Jonas and ordered the assassins to kill Erika and the others must have relied on their Innate Skill to do so.
After checking that everything was fine, only then did he relax a little bit. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Edith jumped to the soft bed and laid there comfortably while hugging the soft pillow cutely. If one did not know enough, they would surely think of her as an ordinary girl who loved soft things.
However, the truth could not be further from that.
Miguel sat beside her as she sat up and hugged him from behind. Her chin rested on his right shoulder as she closed her eyes comfortably. After a few days of being together, there was no longer any awkwardness between the two of them.
Aaliyah, who could only spend two hours together with them, was also the same. She was slowly adapting to their presence, and she can now even hug Miguel comfortably without feeling embarrassed; of course, she could only do it during sleeping time.
After a while, Damian indeed returned and handed him some documents that listed all the available villas that they could give him as part of the deal.
Miguel checked everything carefully and finally decided on the most suitable one for him and his circumstances.
