I Can Extract Divine Power-Chapter 175 - 113: New Deceitful Object: A Hammer
...
As soon as Shen Bai stepped into the room and closed the door, a chilling, sinister aura washed over him before he could even turn around.
The room acted like a barrier, sealing the entirety of that cold, sinister aura inside.
It was unnoticeable from outside the room. Only after stepping inside could one feel the overwhelming aura, a chill that seeped deep into the bones, as if one had been plunged into an ice cellar.
’Looks like I misjudged it.’
Shen Bai surveyed his surroundings. ’This room looks perfectly ordinary, but for it to seal the aura of the Deceitful Objects so effectively, it must be made from some extraordinary materials.’
All around were shelves, arranged in dense, seemingly endless rows.
Each shelf displayed different Deceitful Objects—sabers, spears, swords, hammers, and even many items with peculiar designs.
For example, on a nearby shelf sat a blood-stained bodice.
These were all Deceitful Objects. Any one of the items the Observatory had collected here would be enough to cause a mad scramble among the Jianghu People if it appeared on the outside.
After a quick glance, Shen Bai found himself suffering from choice paralysis.
There were so many items, Shen Bai even had the passing thought to go find a burlap sack and haul everything away.
Of course, it was just a thought.
"Alright, Amber, time to put you to the test. Go on, find something that’s a good fit for me."
’If I tried to find something myself, I’d just get more and more confused.’
But Amber was different.
As a Deceitful Beast, Amber didn’t just have a keen nose for bizarre auras; it also possessed a sensitivity to Deceitful Objects that ordinary people couldn’t hope to match.
That was precisely why Shen Bai had brought it with him.
After Shen Bai spoke, Amber let out a MEOW and hopped down from his shoulder.
It first circled Shen Bai once, its little pink nose twitching constantly as if taking in his scent.
Then, Amber began to wander all over the room.
It would stop at each set of shelves to sniff the base, then scamper off to the next one.
Shen Bai stood still, his eyes following Amber’s form.
’This should be a sure thing.’
’Amber will definitely find something good.’
Then, after about the time it takes an incense stick to burn, Amber emerged from between the innermost shelves, staggering and shaking its head as if it were drunk.
Slightly puzzled, Shen Bai went over, scooped Amber into his arms, and shook it vigorously.
Its head flopped back and forth with the motion, but it maintained its drunken stupor.
"What’s going on? So you’re no help after all," Shen Bai said, exasperated.
Hearing Shen Bai’s words, Amber rolled its eyes and let out a pathetic MEOW MEOW MEOW.
Its cries were filled with helplessness and fear.
The reason was simple, though only Amber itself knew what had happened.
It had been ready to put on a great performance, but after getting a whiff of Shen Bai’s aura, its tiny brain short-circuited. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Amber felt that every single Deceitful Object here was somehow crucial for Shen Bai. It was like being on a spinning staircase, with tentacles grabbing its limbs from all sides, making it impossible to tell which way was up.
Then, Amber realized why. It was because Shen Bai had too many abilities—so many that even a Deceitful Beast like itself couldn’t make heads or tails of them.
This resulted in Amber’s little head being crammed with all sorts of strange information, making the poor creature feel utterly overwhelmed.
Shen Bai sighed. He picked Amber up by the scruff of its neck and held it. ’Looks like I have to find something myself after all.’
With that, Shen Bai began to wander around the room himself.
In front of Shen Bai, wisps of dense smoke were constantly coalescing into words.
Every time Shen Bai looked at a Deceitful Object, text flickered into existence.
The sensation was thrilling, even for Shen Bai.
’If only I could have brought a sack to carry all this away!’
The thought surfaced in his mind again. He shook his head, casting it aside, and fell into deep contemplation.
His current abilities covered offense, defense, a Body Technique, and even poison resistance and Recovery. One could say he was extremely versatile.
’But as I see it, I still have plenty of weaknesses.’
’First of all, I can’t fly. I also don’t have any water or fire abilities...’
Shen Bai listed his deficiencies in his mind as he continued to scan the shelves.
Finally, Shen Bai’s gaze came to rest on one particular shelf.
’This is something I don’t think I’ve ever seen before,’ Shen Bai thought.
A strange object lay before him.
It was a hammer.
One face of the hammer had been cut away, leaving only half a head.
Shen Bai picked up the hammer, and text formed from smoke materialized before his eyes.
[Worn Forging Hammer]
[Appraisal Progress: 0%]
[A wisp of Evil Qi can be used for quick appraisal]
Shen Bai stroked his chin, staring at the hammer’s name. His gaze lingered on the word "Forging".
’Forging... I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with anything like that,’ Shen Bai thought.
He then lifted the partial hammer, hefting it gently in his hand.
’I don’t have any Evil Qi right now, so I can’t appraise it. But I’ve looked all over this room, and I’m guessing "forging" is probably similar to Casting.’
’It might be useful in the future, in case I need other Blades,’ Shen Bai thought.
With this in mind, Shen Bai carried the partial hammer out of the resource room.
When Shen Bai stepped out of the room, the corner of Elder Mu’s mouth twitched upon seeing the object in his hand.
"You’ve got a good eye, kid."
Shen Bai looked at the hammer in his hand and asked, "What is this?"
Elder Mu pointed at the hammer and explained, "That was used by a great master of Casting from Fenglin State. After he died, it became entwined with resentful energy and transformed into a Deceitful Object. It’s said to have a Casting effect, but it has a limited number of uses."
"If you were to use it on your Cold Moon, you might be able to raise its tier."
Upon hearing this, Shen Bai’s expression cleared with understanding. "So it really is related to Casting."
’Of course, I don’t plan on using it. After all, it’s a consumable with only a few uses.’
’If I can turn it into a Divine Power, though, I’ll be able to use it indefinitely.’
Now that he had his Deceitful Object, Shen Bai had no reason to linger. He bid farewell to Elder Mu and prepared to leave the resource room.
But just then, Elder Mu pulled a letter from within his robes.
"This is from Zhou Qing. Take it and have a look."
