I Want a Divorce Every Day, But the Superstar Says No-Chapter 119: That’s Just Not Fair
Durrell Landon glanced sideways at Charles Foote: "Since you’re here, could you please drop me off at the hotel?"
"What, where’s your driver?"
"On vacation."
Charles Foote: "..."
He said rather speechlessly: "So you’re treating me as your driver now?"
Durrell Landon gave him a nonchalant glance: "You know I’ve transferred all my assets to her, so I’m out of money, and I’m also injured and can’t drive. So I can only trouble you to take me to the hotel."
Charles Foote: "..."
For the first time, he realized Durrell Landon could actually joke, but he just couldn’t laugh.
Sarcasm aside, he eventually drove him to the hotel, and before leaving, Durrell even had him pay for the suite.
In the end, he just looked at Durrell speechlessly.
...
The next day.
Early in the morning, Durrell Landon returned to Imperial View Manor. Seeing his young master return, the butler hurried to greet him.
"Young master, you’re back."
Durrell glanced at the master bedroom door, "Has the lady gotten up?"
The butler shook his head: "No... the lady hasn’t come out at all."
"Go prepare something she likes to eat. I’ll go check on her in the room."
Durrell walked into the room and was surprised to find that Quiana Sutton was already awake, just leaning casually against the headboard, staring out the window motionless.
The warm sunlight streamed in, spreading across her, making the entire morning gentle. He couldn’t help but curl his lips.
"You’re awake? How’s your body feeling?"
After sleeping for so long, her body had mostly recovered. As soon as he entered, she knew but didn’t bother to look at him.
Now that he spoke, she finally directed her gaze at him. Her eyes were calm and unruffled, even carrying a hint of sarcasm: "Shouldn’t Young Master Landon be the most aware of how my body is?"
Durrell Landon: "..."
For a moment, he didn’t know what expression he should have. After a brief silence, he lowered his gaze slightly: "It’s all my fault."
The more humble he acted, the more infuriated she became. She leaned back inadvertently and raised her voice.
"Since you’ve already transferred Imperial View Manor to me, without my permission, you can’t enter it again, and certainly not my room. Otherwise, I’ll treat it as illegal trespass." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"We’ve only signed the divorce agreement but haven’t got the divorce certificate. During this period, you are still my wife, so it’s not illegal trespass."
Quiana Sutton: "..."
At that moment, she felt completely outmaneuvered by Durrell, as if every step he took was meticulously calculated.
She curled her lips into a cold smile:
"Young Master Landon, there’s one thing in this world you can never completely control."
Durrell was caught off guard by her gaze. An instant flurry of panic seized his heart. He instinctively asked, "What is it?"
Quiana Sutton gave him a half-smile: "In this world, love is the only thing that cannot be calculated."
After saying that, she flipped the covers off, opened the closet, and glanced at it, casually picking a black shirt of Durrell’s to put on herself.
After finishing in the bathroom, she found Durrell still sitting on the sofa not far away, seemingly lost in thought. She ignored him.
She was not Young Master Landon, able to take leave from the film set as she pleased.
Moreover, as the filming was nearing its end, she needed to pay extra attention.
As soon as Quiana Sutton left the master bedroom, the always waiting butler immediately stepped up respectfully: "Madam, breakfast is prepared. Would you like to have it now?"
Quiana Sutton nodded. If she didn’t eat something, how would she have the energy to deal with Durrell?
She then remembered something: "Don’t call me madam anymore. Call me Miss Sutton, and now I’m the owner of Imperial View Manor."
The butler: "..."
He just treated it as some kind of playful activity between the young master and the lady and agreed quite dutifully: "Yes."
Quiana Sutton sat down, casually glancing over the spread. It was all her favorites.
She slowly and gracefully gnawed on her favorite buns.
Soon, Durrell Landon also came downstairs and sat across from her. A hint of fatigue lingered between his brows, but his gaze toward her was deep and determined:
"I want to tell you, my feelings for you have never changed. In this world, I could sacrifice anything, I could do without anything, but you must not leave me."
"Because you’re my life."
Before marrying her, he muddled through life for years, feeling it didn’t matter whether he lived or died. But after marrying her, he finally found life’s meaning.
If they divorced, wouldn’t it be like cutting off his own life?
When he signed the divorce agreement, he was in a desperate, brazen mindset. But now that luck was still on his side, how could he really divorce her?
After listening, she instinctively glanced up at him, meeting his deep and shallow eyes. For some reason, her heart skipped a beat.
She quickly regained her composure.
After a brief silence, neither of them spoke.
She calmly chewed on the food she loved, not even glancing at Durrell.
Seeing her lack of response, Durrell’s brows wore an even heavier look of fatigue, but he didn’t speak either.
After finishing her meal, Quiana prepared to go to the film set, while Durrell shamelessly climbed into her car.
She felt an impulse to kick him out, "What’s the point in riding my car, Young Master Landon?"
Durrell answered matter-of-factly: "All my assets are with you. I can’t afford a driver anymore, so naturally, I need to hitch a ride with you."
Quiana Sutton: "..."
Durrell Landon was becoming increasingly shameless.
Before Durrell could buckle the seatbelt, she stepped hard on the accelerator, catching Durrell off guard as he slammed into the windshield.
His forehead quickly reddened.
She glanced lightly, not saying a word, but a subtle smile curved her lips.
Durrell rubbed his sore forehead, realizing she was genuinely mad and purposefully giving him a hard time.
Seeing the faintly invisible smile on her lips, he suddenly felt it was worth getting hit again.
When they were about two kilometers from the film set, Quiana made Durrell get out of the car.
He politely negotiated: "There’s quite a crowd here. What if someone recognizes me and causes a commotion? Could you drive me directly to the set instead?"
She glanced at him sideways: "That’s none of my business. Get out."
Durrell Landon: "..."
"Aren’t you concerned about my well-being?"
As he said these words, paired with a pitiful expression, he looked like a small dog abandoned by its owner, causing utter heartbreak.
Quiana Sutton: "..."
He’s breaking all the rules now...
Upon arriving at the film set later, she had only one thought: Durrell Landon truly is her poison, capable of making her lose her rationality. Despite not wanting to drive him to the set, she ended up doing just that.
