Chapter 152: Intruder

"Yeeeep!"

Felix was woken up by the fox’s loud, sharp cry.

His mind was still clouded at first, from the potion-enhanced sleep. Only for a brief moment, though, because soon enough, something even more frightening than Remi’s cry startled him, shaking him down to the core.

The pull of the bond.

That damned fated mate bond.

Pulling right at him, so intense that it almost took his breath away momentarily.

His fated mate was near. Very near.

In the same room, actually.

His wolf stirred anxiously. Unlike before, though, it was no longer excited about the presence of the mate. Why, Felix didn’t know. Maybe because his wolf had already grown attached to Kade, so it valued it more than this bond. Or maybe because this unexpected night visit smelled like danger. For Felix, and for his pup. Or maybe it simply was finally more in tune with Felix’s own feelings and emotions.

Either way, Felix didn’t have the time to think about that now.

He quickly lifted himself up. His body was still weak from the flu and the heat, but his survival instincts kicked in, giving him the strength to act despite his weakness.

Still, he was too slow. The intruder was already in the bedroom, right by Felix’s side. He pushed the Omega back on the bed, leaning over him.

It’s been over a year. Many months had passed... But how could Felix not recognize this disgusting face?

"I finally found you," Jared muttered, the grin on his face sinister. "So that’s where you have hidden all this time..."

Felix bit his lip, trying to keep his emotions under control. His whole body was shaking. Although his wolf was only pacing nervously, Felix’s body still responded to the bond... Now that they were so close, the memories of that terrible night flashed in front of his eyes. Jared hasn’t touched him yet, not tonight, but Felix could still feel the remnant of his touch all over his skin. Jared’s hands holding his waist. Tearing his clothes. Sliding down his thighs...

He felt like throwing up.

"Wow! Wow! Wow!" Remi barked, getting up from the floor, somewhere by the door. He jumped onto the bed, and bit into Jared’s calf, the rusty scent of blood spreading all over the room, mixing with the jasmine fragrance of the fox, the milk chocolate pheromones that Felix had leaked earlier because of his heat, and with the anise pheromones that Jared was now releasing...

What a disgusting mix. This time, Felix truly couldn’t help but gag. He pressed his hand over his mouth though, forcefully holding it back.

He couldn’t afford to be weak now.

Remi’s bite had diverted Jared’s attention. The Alpha let out a loud hiss from the pain, and turned back, grabbing the fox by the neck. "This fucking pest..." He tried to remove Remi from his leg...

But Remi only tightened his jaws, biting so hard, that it caused a loud cry to escape Jared’s lungs.

"Remi, don’t..." Felix tried to intervene, but it was too late.

Jared had already hit the fox in the head.

No matter how strong Remi was, he was still a fox. How could his strength compare to a wolf? If it were in his human form, then naturally, Jared wouldn’t stand a chance against his spells... But now? Stunned by the hit, Remi had no choice but to release Jared’s leg. He dropped down on the floor, whimpering softly...

Seeing the fox in this state, Felix’s temper flared up. With a sudden burst of strength, he pushed Jared aside, and rushed onto Remi’s side, kneeling on the floor in front of the fox. He looked at Remi’s small fox form, not quite knowing what to do... The fox was injured, so he didn’t dare pick him up carelessly, but leaving him like that...

It was truly a terrible timing. Remi had spent most of the day in his human form, taking care of Felix and Vivi. Perhaps he couldn’t transform now... That must have been the case, otherwise there was no way he would be foolish enough to challenge Jared, an Alpha werewolf, in his fox form. He had some sort of mysterious condition, after all. While Felix still had no clue what it was, he knew at least that much...

Felix bit his lip, breathing hard, as his mind raced, trying to come up with solutions...

But how could Jared allow him to sit and think? Before Felix was able to come up with anything, he grabbed him by the collar, and pulled him up.

"Ah!" Felix called out, struggling in his grip. He gritted his teeth, sending Jared a murderous look. "What do you want?"

Jared lifted his brows, amused by the glare. "I’m taking you back to the pack, of course." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

A shudder passed through Felix’s body. Of course, he had expected this response, but...

"Are you stupid or what? Why do you insist on me being your mate?" he muttered through clenched teeth. "Don’t you know I’ll never stop resisting you?"

"Perhaps I like it that way?" Jared grinned. A moment later, though, his smile disappeared, and his face grew more serious. "Either way, you’re coming with me whether you like it or not."

"I’ll never stop fighting you. If I ever get a chance, I will kill you for sure."

Jared only glanced at him, before throwing him over his shoulders. "Then I’ll have to tie you up."

Felix bit his lip again, until he could feel the metallic taste of blood in his mouth.

...Should he bring up Kade? If he mentioned the Bloodmoon Pack, perhaps he could scare Jared a bit. Although he didn’t want to ask Kade for help, not now, when it hadn’t been long since the Eden incident... It was better than being taken away. Remi would probably find a way to rescue him later, but still...

Just as Felix opened his mouth, about to speak up again, Vivi stirred in her cot.

"Waaah!"

Her cries sounded loudly in the dark house.

And Jared stopped in his steps, his head snapping back...
