I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]-Chapter 179: Jealous?
Chapter 179: Jealous?
When they finally got to Felix’s new room, the Omega was oddly silent. After the show he had just witnessed, and in which he involuntarily participated, it seemed he might have to review his perception of the Bloodmoon Pack...
"You didn’t have to catch them all, you know?" Kade grinned as soon as the door to the spacious bedroom closed behind them.
Felix only gave him an unamused glance. If not catch them, then what? Let them fall and hurt themselves? Sure, they were all werewolves, a few scratches and bruises wouldn’t be a problem, they would soon recover, but still.
"I didn’t expect that the Omegas from the Bloodmoon Pack were so clumsy..." he muttered.
Of course, they didn’t trip out of clumsiness, and both Kade and Felix knew it. In fact, they tripped so skillfully, that Felix was almost impressed. He wouldn’t have been able to pretend to fall so well, especially how they didn’t leave themselves a way to recover balance on their own, and entrusted their bodies fully to Kade, hoping that the Alpha would catch them...
If there was anything clumsy about it, then it was how they attempted to use such an incident to flirt and try to seduce Kade. Because that was their ultimate goal, Felix was sure of it. Even if he found it hard to believe, because of how dumb and awkward it was. Back in the Moonhill Pack, no one would do anything remotely as embarrassing as that. Or, well, now that he thought about it, perhaps he had seen something similar one or twice... But each time, the Omegas who had tried to use this tactic ended up being ignored (unless they were already together with the Alpha they used it on. Then, the Alpha might still play along, just to entertain them, even if they saw through this stupid plot)...
Right, that’s how it should go. The more Felix thought about it, the more he found it unusual.
Kade only laughed in response to Felix’s comment, not trying to defend the ’clumsy’ Omegas, and was just about to change the topic, when he noticed that Felix was giving him suspicious glances. "What is it?" he couldn’t help but ask.
"It’s nothing much..." Felix maintained eye contact, staring straight into Kade’s purple black eyes with his brows quirked. "I’ve just been wondering... What do they do that for?"
"Oh, well, it’s just..."
"I’m not asking for their reasons," Felix interrupted, passing by Kade, and walking up to the large window to take a look outside. It led to a balcony overlooking a garden, with a really nice view. It must have truly been a premium room. "I know what they must be trying to achieve. It’s just that... Usually, when something isn’t working, people would eventually give up, and try something else..."
Although he didn’t say it out loud, it was clear what he meant: ’If you weren’t falling for it and catching the Omegas, would they still trip in front of you?’
"Hmm?" Kade stepped closer to Felix. "Are you jealous?"
However, all he got in response was just a deadpan glance, and a simple, "Why would I be?"
There was no reason for Felix to be jealous. To begin with, even if Kade had been catching them before, right now, he dodged them without a hint of hesitation. Then, although he was polite to them, there was not a trace of care and concern in his eyes as he looked at them. And he left them behind right after confirming they were safe...
What was there to be jealous of? That those Omegas had made fools out of themselves?
Not to mention, Felix had no right to be jealous. Not when he was the one who chose to reject Kade...
...Hmm?
All of a sudden, an idea struck him. He furrowed his brows, throwing one more serious glance at Kade. "Was this show all arranged to make me jealous?"
"What?" Kade blinked, genuinely surprised. Because he was actually innocent, the thought had never crossed his head, but now that he thought about it... It indeed could have made him look suspicious!
But he really didn’t do it! He wasn’t stupid, he knew that with someone like Felix, a plan like that would likely backfire! He actually even tried to avoid the usual hunt as much as possible, using Felix and Vivi as a shield was only his backup plan. But it seemed that his original plan didn’t work out well, and many Omegas still had learned about his arrival, and were able to quickly act.
How to explain it to Felix to convince him?
"If it were truly my arrangement, then there would be no need for me to dodge the Omegas, don’t you think?" he finally said, trying to provide arguments that would support him. "It would make more sense that I would catch them myself, instead of leaving that to you."
"You could have just wanted to show me just how many Omegas want to mate with you, and how desperate they are," Felix pointed out, but Kade lifted his brows in response.
"Don’t you already know that? Given my position, it’s obvious that many Omegas want me..."
Felix stared at Kade blankly for a while. Yes, that was true, of course, but... Was Kade trying to brag right now, or what?
Kade wasn’t trying to brag, though, he was just... stating the obvious. He was the most desirable young Alpha around, and that was a fact. He wasn’t necessarily conceited because of it, at least not any more than any other powerful Alpha, but he most certainly wasn’t humble either, and had no desire to pretend to be. So, he remained calm under Felix’s stare, and explained, "As for catching them before, you’re right, I’ve always done that... I’m the heir to the pack, after all, it’s my duty to protect my pack members, even from themselves and their dumb plots. It was only tonight that I was able to ignore them, because I was carrying my pup, and was unable to help them because of that!"
His arguments made sense, Felix had to admit. Things weren’t as nice in the Moonhill Pack, but that didn’t mean the Bloodmoon Pack would be the same... Perhaps Kade was truly only doing his duty as the heir.
Still, he couldn’t stop himself from adding, "It would all be solved if you found yourself a mate."
"...Does that mean you finally agree?" Kade grinned.
Felix gave him a deadpan glance in return. Then, he walked over to the door, and opened them, gesturing at the exit. "Goodnight, Young Master Kade. Thank you for taking me to my room, but it’s late now, you should go..."
