I'll Raise My Future Omega Son-in-law-Chapter 161: OVER-THE-TOP LOVE STORY
WHEN WONYOUNG and Yun Dujun had a meeting with Spencer Choi and his company’s PR Team, there was one thing they all agreed on.
It was not to reveal anything about the shaman and the vision that led to Wonyoung and Yun Dujun’s marriage, and the reason behind Yun Yuhyun’s birth. After all, many people didn’t believe in shamans anymore.
They’d think we have lost our minds for following the shaman.
So, they replaced the reason why Wonyoung and Yun Dujun got together with something dramatic.
And that was how they would begin their love story.
CLICK.
CLICK. CLICK.
CLIIICK.
Wonyoung was greeted by blinding flashes of cameras as soon as he got up onto the stage with Yun Dujun.
They walked together while holding each other’s hands.
Of course, that shocked the reporters.
Hence, the nonstop flashes of cameras everywhere.
Anyway, Wonyoung and Yun Dujun greeted the reporters first before sitting down behind the long table.
When Yun Dujun picked up the microphone, the cameras stopped flashing.
But it was a live broadcast, so the filming didn’t really stop.
"Hello. This is Actor Yun Dujun."
Wonyoung picked up the mic and introduced himself next. "Hello. This is rookie actor Bae Wonyoung."
"And he’s my husband," Yun Dujun added in a calm and gentle voice, causing everyone in the ’audience’ to have a collective gasp. "Wonyoung-ssi and I have been married for almost six years now."
Of course, that statement made the reporters go crazy.
Everyone raised their hands to ask questions.
But no one waited to get picked.
The impatient reporters just yelled their questions.
But the general consensus was the same.
"Why did you lie and hide your marriage?!"
"I didn’t lie to anyone," Yun Dujun said bluntly and unapologetically. "I never said I was single. If you check all my interviews, you’ll find out that I never talked about my personal life. But I wasn’t hiding my marriage— I was simply keeping my relationship private. Especially since my son is still very young."
Pfft.
It was a good thing that Wonyoung was a good actor.
He managed to keep a straight face while Yun Dujun was being shameless.
Dujun Hyung is really unapologetic when it comes to claiming that he never lied to the public about his civil status. Well, technically, he didn’t. But, even so, the Alpha was still being shameless with the ’loophole.’
After all, Yun Dujun didn’t claim that he was in a relationship either.
Anyway, the reporters were obviously displeased by the Alpha’s shamelessness.
Fortunately, other questions came out.
"Yun Dujun-ssi, how did you and Bae Wonyoung-ssi meet?"
"If you’ve been married for six years already, then were you dating before you made your acting debut?"
"Yes, Wonyoung-ssi and I were already together before I made my acting debut," Yun Dujun answered, still calm and collected. "And, shortly after we started dating, we got pregnant with our son."
Yun Dujun turned to Wonyoung.
Okay, it’s my turn now.
Wonyoung picked up the mic again and continued the story. "To be honest with you all, I seduced Dujun Sunbae-nim because I had a hidden agenda at the time. You can call me names after you hear my story, but I did that to survive."
Yun Dujun actually didn’t like this part— the part where they had to replace the shaman story with another ridiculous story.
But Wonyoung insisted on going through with it.
I know I’d get backlash, but I’ll turn this around.
Hopefully.
"I’m an Omega, a good-looking one, at that. Well, I’m a little older and bigger now. But when I was in my teens, I was pretty and fragile-looking— the kind that some Alphas like to take advantage of," Wonyoung said. And, yes, he was being shameless. He was never the pretty type since he had always been the handsome type that was often mistaken for an Alpha. "My parents died early, so it was my uncle and aunt who raised me from childhood. But they didn’t treat me well. They even stole my mother’s life insurance."
He felt sorry for Bae Gayoung since he was exposing their family’s dirty laundry.
But it was important for the narrative he was building.
"When I started gaining attention from Alphas because of my looks, my uncle and aunt realized that they could sell me to whoever was willing to pay for me."
That was half-truth and half-lie.
Gayoung’s parents really tried to pimp me out.
"I didn’t want to be sold like a product, so I thought I should lower my value," Wonyoung continued with his story. "Then the opportunity to do came when Dujun Sunbae-nim and I met. The physical attraction between us was almost immediate, and we acted on it right away. We were reckless, and that was my choice. As expected, I got pregnant easily. My plan was to ask for child support from Dujun Sunbae-nim, but he proposed to me instead."
"And I proposed to Wonyoung-ssi because he was never just a casual partner to me. Our relationship was never casual to me," Yun Dujun said in a clear voice, emphasizing that part of the story. "I have always been attracted to Wonyoung-ssi. That’s why when he told me that he was pregnant, I didn’t hesitate to ask him to marry me. After all, I saw my future with him the moment we met."
Hmm?
Wonyoung knew it was a part of their script.
But, for some reason, his heart skipped a beat while listening to Yun Dujun— especially since the Alpha was giving him the warmest look ever.
And the crazy part?
I don’t think Hyung is acting at this point.
"Unfortunately, there were people who weren’t happy with our relationship," Yun Dujun continued with their script, facing the reporters once again. "One of them was my mother. I never mentioned this before, but I’m actually the son of the veteran actress Kang Chunja."
Almost everyone in the room was a showbiz reporter, so there was no way that any of them didn’t know who Kang Chunja was.
Hence, the collective loud gasp.
Once again, the audience erupted with many questions.
The questions were phrased differently, but the reporters only wanted to know one thing.
"Does it mean you’re the fruit of the affair between Actress Kang Sunja-ssi and Naville Corporation’s Chairman Yun Hyuk?!"
"It wasn’t an affair— it was a mistake that happened while Chairman Yun and his husband were temporarily separated," Yun Dujun said, indifferently this time. There wasn’t an ounce of emotion in his eyes and voice. "My mother came into the picture while Chairman Yun and his husband were in the middle of their divorce."
Wonyoung’s heart broke while listening to the script that Yun Dujun was saying.
Hyung wanted to reveal that his mother raped his father, but his father didn’t want to because it might affect Yuhyun’s future. Actually, my Alpha father-in-law wanted Hyung to say that he had an affair with Hyung’s mother.
But Yun Dujun didn’t want that.
After all, Han Hyunjin would look like a fool who still accepted his cheating husband.
Hence, they came up with that story.
We made it so that the ’affair’ happened while Abeoji and Appa were on a break. Yes, it was a lame excuse. But it’s better than just saying that Abeoji cheated on Appa.
"But the romance between my father and my mother didn’t last long because of my mother’s unstable mind," Yun Dujun said. It was the Alpha who came up with that part because he really wanted to slander his own mother. "After that, Chairman Yun and his husband attended marriage counseling as a part of their divorce process. That was when they realized that they still wanted to be with each other. And, so, they got back together."
Whew.
Wonyoung was aware that not everyone would bite that story.
Most people would still think that Chairman Yun Hyuk cheated on Han Hyunjin with Kang Chunja.
But the important part was that they denied the cheating part.
With this, they can still save the company’s reputation.
"Unfortunately, my mother got pregnant with me," Yun Dujun continued with his story. "Chairman Yun, with Han Hyunjin-ssi’s permission, took responsibility for me. He gave me his name, and he provided for me and my mother. My mother then stepped out of the limelight to raise me. That’s probably why I got into acting."
One of the reporters yelled: "So, you’re a fraud. You’re not a talented actor— you’re just a nepo baby!"
"Just because you hate that I hid who I am doesn’t mean you can lie, sir," Yun Dujun said bluntly. "I won’t deny that I got into showbiz in an easy way because of my mother’s influence. But it’s my talent and hard work that helped me stay in this cutthroat industry. Yes, I’m a nepo baby— but I’m a talented nepo baby. You’re lying to yourself if you think otherwise."
Right?
Even if people started accusing Yun Dujun of buying his best actor awards, not everyone would believe that.
After all, the Alpha was really good at acting.
Plus, Yun Dujun really took care of his image.
Hyung didn’t have any big scandals before this.
"Anyway, even though it was my mother who inspired me to get into acting, I wouldn’t say that we had a good relationship. I didn’t want to say this, but since we’re already airing our dirty laundry, might as well be completely honest," Yun Dujun said, lying with a straight face. After all, they weren’t being completely honest. "My mother didn’t want Wonyoung-ssi for me. She actually hates male Omegas because Chairman Yun’s husband is a male Omega. So, seeing Wonyoung-ssi— a male Omega— reminded him of his ’love rival.’ Hence, my mother wanted me to break up with Wonyoung-ssi, even though Wonyoung-ssi was already pregnant then. Of course, I didn’t follow what my mother wanted me to do. Wonyoung-ssi and I registered our marriage quietly. When my mother found out about it, she got mad— mad to the point that she hurt Wonyoung-ssi."
It was finally Wonyoung’s turn to slander his mother-in-law.
Well, it’s not really slander if it’s the truth.
"I was physically abused by my mother while pregnant," Wonyoung said in a solemn voice. He wasn’t acting pitiful because it would be too obvious that he was asking for sympathy. So, he just talked calmly and clearly to let everyone know that he was simply telling his side of the story. "I wouldn’t go into detail, but my mental health suffered because of the abuse. But that wasn’t the worst part— my mother-in-law actually tried to kill me. Yes, while pregnant."
Once again, a loud gasp erupted from their audience.
Wonyoung wasn’t done yet, though.
"My mother-in-law crashed her car into the one I was riding in to kill me. Because of that, I was forced to give birth to my son early. And the saddest part?"
Wonyoung smiled sadly.
It wasn’t an act.
He was really sad about what he was going to share this time.
"I fell into a coma for five years— yes, five years," Wonyoung said. Even to his own ears, his voice sounded sad. "That was my baby’s entire life. I wasn’t awake when I gave birth to him. And I wasn’t there for him while he was growing up. It was Dujun Sunbae-nim who raised him alone while I was ’sleeping.’"
He got a bit emotional because he was telling the truth this time.
Whew.
Anyway, Wonyoung’s emotional moment was interrupted by the reporters.
"If you were in a coma for five years, then does it mean you just recently woke up, Bae Wonyoung-ssi?"
"Yes, I woke up a few months ago. But that’s also kind of tragic."
Of course, that piqued the reporters’ curiosity even more.
Wonyoung paused for a dramatic effect before he dropped another lie: "I actually woke up with amnesia."
