Chapter 163: An Overwhelming Victory

Just as the ten Red Team martial artists closed in on Adam their synchronized attack about to be unleashed Adam lifted his foot. He then slammed it down hard onto the stone floor of the cafeteria.

"Nightmare," he whispered the single word lost in the din of the approaching attack.

The moment his foot struck the ground a wave of invisible arcane energy erupted outwards. It was a silent psychic shockwave that no one could see. It washed over the ten advancing martial artists in an instant.

Instantly all ten of them froze in place. Their bodies went completely rigid. Their expressions of fierce determination locked into masks of sudden wide-eyed terror. Their eyes were still open but they were no longer seeing the cafeteria.

They were no longer seeing Adam.

They were trapped each one of them in a different unique dream.

It was a personalized mental prison created by Adam’s powerful magical attack. And then one by one like puppets with their strings suddenly cut they all collapsed to the ground unconscious.

Simon and Somya were completely stunned. They stared in disbelief at the ten fallen martial artists.

Their minds were struggling to comprehend what had just happened. There had been no physical contact. There had been no visible attack. Yet their comrades had been neutralized in an instant.

Cian however could no longer bear to watch this. His face was contorted with a rage that burned like a fire. It was a furious humiliated anger that overshadowed all reason all thought.

"I’ll show you!" he roared his voice a guttural animalistic snarl.

He leaped into the air. His powerful body was a blur of motion. In his hand he held a sword. Its blade was now enveloped in a shimmering blood-red layer of energy. It made the sword look extremely deadly.

As Cian reached the apex of his leap directly above Adam he brought his sword down. It was a vicious cleaving strike. He intended to split Adam in two from head to toe.

But before the deadly red-glowing blade could even touch Adam Adam sidestepped slightly. It was a small almost casual movement. As Cian’s descending body shot past him Adam’s hand shot out.

He grabbed Cian by the throat. With a single fluid motion he redirected Cian’s downward momentum. He slammed him straight into the ground.

The force of the impact was immense.

The stone floor of the cafeteria which was already cracked from previous impacts now shattered completely. A large spiderweb of deep fissures spread out from where Cian’s body had hit the floor.

All the other team members present in the cafeteria the members of the Golden Blue and Black teams were completely astonished. They were watching with a mixture of fear and a grudging undeniable awe as Adam single-handedly dismantled the entire Red Team.

That is they thought they were watching Eric. Only Alina who was present in the ladies’ section knew the truth. She knew that this was not Eric.

This was the terrifying overwhelmingly powerful entity known as Adam. Everyone else however was witnessing what they believed to be Eric’s true terrifying power.

They couldn’t believe their eyes. A single individual a first-year student possessed the capability to decimate an entire powerful faction. He was handling them all alone.

After this performance after this brutal systematic annihilation the other teams present would never again approach Adam or his group so recklessly. The lesson had been taught. The message had been sent.

This was precisely the message Adam had wanted to send to everyone. If anyone wanted to approach him or his team they had to consider them equals.

If anyone thought they could do anything to Adam or his team without facing any consequences Adam had just shattered that myth. He had done it by attacking the Red Team in front of everyone.

He knew there would be consequences for his actions. But he had to send this message clearly and unequivocally to everyone in the Academy.

No rules no traditions would stop him if they tried to harm his team in any way.

Meanwhile Cian despite the brutal impact of being slammed into the stone floor was not yet defeated. He was shocked by Adam’s incredible speed but his own power and resilience were considerable.

He channeled more of his red energy into his sword. Now lying on his back but still in front of Adam he swung his blade. It was a desperate horizontal arc. He was aiming for Adam’s throat.

However Adam whose hand was still on Cian’s collar reacted with a speed that was almost instantaneous. He brought his other hand up. And as he did he wrapped it completely in his own magical power.

The energy that enveloped his fist was not red or blue or gold like the other students used.

It was a pure brilliant white. It was a flame-like aura of condensed untainted power.

This white energy was a sign that Adam’s power was so condensed so pure that it had transcended the normal spectrum of magical energy. It was a higher form of power.

Before Cian’s sword could even come close to Adam’s face Adam’s fist wreathed in that pure white flame smashed directly into Cian’s face.

Adam knew from his first brief fight with the upperclassmen that these Academy students were far more powerful far more resilient than any ordinary warriors he had fought so far.

They would not be neutralized by simple physical blows.

That’s why Adam had fully condensed his magical power. He intended not just to attack Cian from the outside. He wanted to send a shockwave of pure destructive energy through his body to cause significant internal damage.

The moment Adam’s fist connected with Cian’s face a large amount of blood gushed from his mouth and nose. His eyes rolled back in their sockets turning completely white. He was knocked out cold.

His body went limp. His red-glowing sword clattered uselessly to the floor.
