Chapter 158: [Chapter - 158]

Three days passed by in a blink of an eye.

The banquet hall of Baron Volkov was still painted red with the blood of traitors, but the town of Auravale never knew about it.

The old world had died in that room, and a new era ushered by a man who was currently in bed, trying to catch the grapes in the air with his mouth.

Leo lay sprawled in the center of the massive XXL-king sized bed that he had made and placed in Lord Caelum’s room after he threw the last one away.

He did not want to lie in the same bed where that Bastard Lord and Malcom did God knows what sorts of things, in what sorts of positions and in what sorts of holes.

Uggh! Just the thought made him puke his insides out.

"Missed," Leo mumbled as a grape bounced off his nose.

Shadow, who was standing beside the bed in a maid’s uniform that was scandalously short, scrambled to catch the fruit before it hit the sheets. She moved with the silent grace of an assassin, but her face was flushed a deep crimson.

"You almost had it, Master," She praised, offering him a fresh glass of wine, "I should have thrown it better."

"It’s fine, Shadow," Leo grinned, taking the glass from her. And with his other hand, he reached out to lazily trace the curve of her hip gently.

"You are getting better at the service part. A few more tries and you will be a pro."

"You look cute when you are not trying to kill things."

Shadow shivered at his touch, her eyes lowering submissively.

Since the night at the banquet, she hadn’t dared to look him in the eye. The memory of his fingers inside her, claiming her in front of her mistress, had broken something fundamental in her resistance.

Her loyalty was still torn between Ryana and Leo. But her body? Her body knew exactly who it belonged to.

"Thank you, Master," Shadow whispered, her eyes closing to her touch.

Leo smiled when he looked at Shadow’s flushed face.

’Ruling is easy,’ He thought, taking another sip of wine, ’You just need to find competent women and let them do all the work.’

Just then the system dinged in his head and a notification appeared in front of him.

[System Notification]

[Passive Effect: Totem of Terror]

[System Points Generated (Last 24 Hours): 200]

[Current System Points: 450]

’Two hundred points a day,’ Leo mused, ’That’s what you call making money without leaving the bed. Passive income baby! Passive income.’

System Points was something that was introduced after the System reboot unlocked the Shop. While his hoard of gold coins was perfectly capable of buying anything from the system as long as he had enough of them.

But he was a dragon. He loved his gold just a tad bit less than his women.

He didn’t want to splurge his gold every time he wanted to buy something from the System. It was a never ending idiotic loop.

System gives him Gold and then he uses that Gold to buy one thing or the other from the System.

True! He would still end up walking away with something. But why should he use the gold he got as a reward for working his ass off on quests that might sometimes even get him killed?

He already wasn’t very happy with the system reset of all his stats and inventory.

And maybe the system was aware of it. And that is why, it introduced System points. Another way for Leo to buy stuff from the Shop.

And from the looks of it, it was actually more valuable than the Gold.

Something he might have to pay a few million gold coins for, might just cost a few thousand System Points(SP).

All in all, the moral of the story is, with System Points now in his kitty, Leo might not necessarily part ways with his Gold.

It was sort of a win-win for him.

Now, while Leo was busy enjoying the fruits of his conquest, his "General" was ensuring that the peace remained absolute.

Belladonna hasn’t visited him for the last three days. The Bandit Queen was busy making sure no one dared to have second thoughts about the new lord.

She didn’t need to. The thrill of expansion was a better stimulant than any potion.

The Blackfang Mercenary Corps was no longer a ragtag group of bandits hiding in the Endless Forest.

They were trying to go legitimate.

Belladonna had purchased a massive stone building directly next to the "Iron Oath" Adventurer’s Guild.

It was a calculated power move. Every time the fat belly, drunk adventurers of the Iron Oath looked out their window, they saw the Blackfang banner snapping in the wind, reminding them of who this town really belonged to.

Even Mara, the former receptionist of Iron Oath, who had once tried to eat Leo, was now manning the front desk of the Blackfang HQ. And she looked happier than she ever had serving ale to those ungrateful drunks.

But that was not all. Not just a building. But the Blackfangs had taken over the streets.

Wherever one looked, a blackfang bandit was there wearing a black armband on their sleeves with a red wolf, showing its fangs.

And to make sure there was no man with a sword in his hand with the slightest of desire to revolt, the surviving city guards, those who hadn’t been purged for in the monster raid, and their loyalty to Caelum or Volkov were absorbed in the newly restructured Blackfang Merceneries.

The City Patrol was gone and the Blackfang Mercenaries roamed the cities amidst the cheers from the town people.

In a matter of days, there was no crime in Auravale anymore.

Not because the people were good.

But because the Bandits were now the police.
