Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System-Chapter 423: The Eternal Dream, Opal’s Secret Identity
"You've seen it," Arthur said as he looked up at Cassius's cloudy eyes. "You've seen the Illusion. You likely understand it more than I do! So you know… you know that all the Supreme Scholars wanted to achieve was but mere delusions."
"There is no escape."
"This Eternal Dream is also an Eternal Prison."
BLIP!
The simulated motion picture suddenly ceased to be.
"But you…" Arthur Pendragon paused. "You're not from here."
Cassius almost showed a bit of surprise, but after connecting with the truth of the matter the direct way, he figured out why Arthur said that.
"What you sacrificed made you into the Mother of this Reality," Cassius said calmly. "Yet you're also the protector. And the Father. Identities that none of the Rulers of any of the Three Worlds were aware of."
"It's because of this that you can tell I'm not cut from the same stalk as the rest of the people in this Reality," he continued. "As for when you figured this out… sometime during my battle with the Armies of the Soul Emperors."
Arthur nodded. "I also know you possess the ability to return from where you originate," he said. "But don't worry, I won't ask you to take me away, for that's not possible as I am. However… if you could do just one thing… one favor… please…"
"Please release us all." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"Release you?" asked Cassius as he discerned the answers to his question himself. "You want me to merge this Reality with the Core of my Being…? But this… this will erase all that you all—all that everyone here is."
Images of two beautiful girls untainted by the truth of the world flashed through his mind, cracking his aloof facade ever so slightly.
"As long as we can live on in you, that is enough," replied Arthur, his voice shifting to melancholy. "Living in this False Reality where nothing matters… I can't bear to see my children continue on as they are…"
"Even though they aren't and likely will never be aware of the Truth, you still want me to go through with this…?"
This time, Cassius waited for Arthur to answer.
"Yes. And all responsibility for this decision shall be mine and mine alone to bear."
"But why…? Why go so far?"
"Because, young Cassius, this world is going to be erased soon."
"!!!"
"Erased??"
Cassius did the calculations but couldn't figure out what Arthur Pendragon was talking about.
"You won't get your answer that way," said Arthur. "To sense what I do, you'd have to have been connected to this world as long as I have."
"As for what I mean when I say this world will be erased," he continued, "we are all but the mere spawn of a thought. Of an idea. But there is one here, like you, who doesn't belong. A secret of the cosmos."
"Who?"
Did Cassius know this person? Why was Arthur making it seem like he did??
Opening a screen that zoomed in on an astronomically tiny location of the Land of Beginnings, Arthur said, "Here. This is the reason the world will be erased."
"That is…!"
Opal Mistalore!
But why!?
And how!??
"This girl has an origin that dates back long before my birth," Arthur explained. "I have no clue how far back, but I know she's very, very ancient. Furthermore, her lifeforce is not only illogical, it exceeds any notion of common sense. You felt it before, didn't you? When you looked at her?"
Remembering that unusual feeling from back then, Cassius repeated the same action but with far more power. He obtained a better look at her, and what he saw was…
"Yggdrasil…"
"So you know something about this tree-like projection, huh?" Arthur cut off the screen's connection. "Whatever she is, she's the only reason the Three Great Worlds have yet to collapse. But this life of hers, just like the countless ones before, is impossible to fully quench."
"So then why will the world be erased if Opal can't permanently die…?"
Cassius, with his newfound perspective of himself and everything around him, digested all these revelations very quickly.
"It's because something is pulling her away from the Three Great Worlds," replied Arthur, opening up a projected simulation showing a massive spiritual tree and a vacuum. "I am not privy to what exactly is trying to get her out of here, but it's likely some form of extreme danger response. Wherever she truly comes from, there is something calling her back out of necessity. That is the only thing I can tell for certain."
"Out of necessity?"
'Is it the World Tree? But why would a mythical construct like that be in danger…?'
Cassius had so many questions. Ones that, even with all his transcendent strength, couldn't be answered.
"You appear to have thought of something," said Arthur, shaking him out of his reverie. "You should return and understand what exactly that thought entails."
"You mean to say??"
"Yes." Arthur nodded, his gaze softening with a melancholy glow. "It's time you leave the Three Great Worlds. Help us all; end it here and now before we eventually get torn apart piece by piece when the void comes for us."
"But I…"
"Remember, young Cassius." Arthur patted him on the shoulder, meeting his hesitant gaze with a look of acceptance. "We aren't real. But with you, we'll become real. You'll be doing us a favor."
Cassius paused, his mouth left slightly hung open.
Turning his face off to the side, he asked, "Is this really what you want? I might… I might be able to take you into an isolated space and transport you out of here—"
"I appreciate the sentiment," Arthur interrupted. "But my timer came to an end long ago. This Universe is connected with me at an inseparable level. Even if I did want to leave with my existence intact, it would be impossible."
Cassius went silent.
"Okay… I'll do it," he finally said. "But I… I'll be taking a few people with me—"
"Young Cassius," said Arthur, his voice filled with pity. "Take another look at those you wish to take away."
