Information to Mastery: Points Store System-Chapter 275: New Device, Bounty
For the first earpiece, Michael would be required to speak out loud, for the information to be conveyed.
In normal situations, this was something that would have interested him. But considering that he did not want others to know that he was communicating with someone about something sensitive, it was not suitable.
Instead, there was this other device that matched exactly what he wanted.
The Neural Relay Earpiece was a compact device that allowed its wearer to communicate with any sentient being, or even an artificial intelligence, through directed thought alone.
Instead of speaking, the user would simply focus on the message they wished to convey, and the device could capture that intent, transmitting it as understandable meaning to nearby minds.
To the receiver, whether human, alien, or AI, the message would naturally form in a way they could comprehend.
The earpiece functioned through a subtle neuro-intent sensor, which linked with the brain’s speech-planning centers and could detect only deliberate communication thoughts while ignoring random mental activity. This ensured that only the thoughts the user intended to share would be transmitted.
Once captured, the thought would pass through a cognitive translation core, capable of converting human intent into universal patterns that could be interpreted by any sentient mind or artificial intelligence.
A synaptic resonance emitter would then project the signal outward, while an adaptive sentience scanner could adjust the transmission so that different beings, regardless of their nature or origin, would interpret the message accurately.
As for the price, it was exactly 0.2 SP. This price, it was way cheaper than Michael had anticipated. After all, 0.2 SP was just $20,000.
In real life, if something like this really popped up, it would not be much of a problem for it to be priced at over $100,000.
Many people had secrets that they would not want others to know. So, just buy focusing on the demand, it would be much easier to be able to raise the price of this item.
How many people would beat tempted with the ability to communicate with any sentient being? Even dogs, cats, cows and other types of animals, they could clearly understand what a person wanted them to do.
But of course, while this device could allow them to understand, that did not imply that those that heard this would do what the person wanted.
Thankfully, the price within the system store was mostly based on the production costs. As for any other factors that could influence the price, that was not applicable in the system store.
Without hesitation, Michael went ahead and made the purchase, and, the 0.8 SP was immediately converted into cash, which was deposited into his bank account.
When he did the purchase, he decided for the device to be delivered in his room, instead of the living room. That way, Marion and Susan would not see it as it appeared.
Mentioning Susan, this lady, she did not seem to have any intention of leaving. She seemed to be quite determined to continue staying here.
And it was at this point that Michael thought of something else. At the moment, Adrian was really busy with Sky Technologies.
So, it would be much inconvenient for him to be coming back to do the cooking all the time. So, Michael thought, why not buy a bio human that would just be doing the house chores? 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
That way, Adrian would have much more time to do other things, instead of spending much time doing the house chores and the what not.
As for Lucas, Damian, Benjamin, these three bio humans of the same model as Adrian, they rarely visited the villa.
Each one of them was busy with a task assigned to them. And just like Adrian, Michael had informed them to speed up things.
For the issue revolving around the supermarket chain and the restaurant chain, Michael understood that they would not be as fast as Sky Technologies.
For Sky Technologies, with the experts that Michael had bought through the system store, new devices could be created on a daily basis. The only thing that could delay them would be the production procedures and many other things such as launching, supplying and so on.
But for the other two chains, they needed more than just new dishes or huge supplies. So, even if Michael wanted them to expand as fast as possible, it would not be as fast as sky technologies could grow.
At the end of the day, the expansion of those two would not just depend on money. Instead, reputation and other things of the sort were needed.
For some issues, Michael could easily some of them through the system store. But ever since Annex supermarket chain expanded to the entire province, he had never really been involved with it again.
But he had informed Damian that in case of anything, he should inform him, so that he could solve it.
Deciding not to think much about this, he decided to head to his room first, to make a purchase of the bio human, while picking up the earpiece.
Just as he was climbing the stairs, his movements suddenly froze. The reason behind this being that he had received a prompt from the system.
[Experience full. Level up. Physiotherapy skills upgraded to the expert level. + 5,000 SP.]
That was a little unexpected. He had been in the living room for quite a while, but the clone had already pushed a skill to the expert level?
But in the next moment, Michael felt excited. As for why that was the case, it was simply because he thought of the future.
While there was a limitation of only a single clone per day, each clone could work without considering rest.
They were basically formed from energy, so, they did not need to eat or take a bathroom break. Simply put, they could work from morning to morning, easily pushing several skills to the expert level in a short while.
Additionally, as the number of skills that Michael had continuously increased, it would be much easier to be able to push future skills to the expert level.
Michael believed that there would come a time that he might start a skill at the advanced level, just a little bit of effort required before pushing the skill to the expert level.
Calming down his excited heart, Michael quickly went back to his room. There, he picked up the device that was currently on the bedside cabinet.
The Neural Relay Earpiece was a shiny, curved pod with a matte black surface and a faint metallic sheen. A tiny indicator glowed softly, while its compact, advanced design made it look like a piece of high-end modern technology, definitely from the future.
As he picked it up, Michael realized that it was extremely light. It would be comfortable to put it on.
So, he went ahead and wore the device, and, as soon as he did, for a moment, he felt as though there was a current that had originated from the device, directly connecting to the brain.
But this sensation did not last long, as it was almost like a flash.
As for the device, after putting it on, until Michael touched it, it was as though it was not there in the first place. This was mainly due to the fact that it was almost weightless.
Michael was not sure about the type of material that was used to create this device, it was definitely something much more advanced.
In the current world, if the technology of creating this device was revealed, many people would be willing to pay millions of dollars in order to be able to acquire it.
And to think, Michael only acquired this device from the system store for just $20,000, that was crazy.
Additionally, even if he provided those people with this device, the probability of them being able to understand, and recreate it was almost non-existent. At least, with the current technology, this was something that could not be accomplished within a short time.
Michael was still busy admiring this when suddenly, Onyx began speaking.
"Master, there is a bounty that has been placed on your head in an assassination organization called Death Shadow. It is the same organization that sent the killer previously, according to the previous information that I obtained.
This time, the person who has placed the bounty on you is called Amos Wesley. This is the current leader of the Blood Reapers syndicate.
The type of bounty that they have placed on you is different from the normal bounties. Most probably, it is related to mutants.
According to the bits of information that I have acquired, it seems that this leader of the Blood Reapers syndicate suspects that you are mutant, or have a mutant around you.
For that reason, they might probably be hiring a mutant to do the job. The categorization of the mutants within this organization is that of S grade and above, with the highest being grade SSS.
Below grade S are the top assassins, but they only have incredible skills, but no special abilities.
Currently, the bounty placed is of the highest level, implying that a very powerful mutant will be the one taking action against you, as it is a bounty of grade SSS."
Michael raised his brows slightly. If not for this incident, he really would have forgotten about this organization.
Quite some time back, the Kingsley family had hired an assassin from this organization. But that assassin was quite unlucky.
After all, on the same day that he came to assassinate Michael, Michael had just purchased the ADLA, the adaptive dermal lattice armor.
The bullet from the sniper simply could not penetrate the armor, and the guy was caught by Adrian, tortured to reveal the information, and in the end, he was dealt with by Adrian.
"That is surprising. Is it possible that they have already gotten the information that I dealt with Nathan?" Michael could not help but raise his brows as he asked in a low voice.
