Information to Mastery: Points Store System-Chapter 276: A Test
"The probability of that is quite high, which is something that is strengthened by the fact that a grade SSS assassin was the one assigned with the task.
According to the data acquired, the estimation of the date that the assassin will take action will be at the end of this month.
Your routine is always fixed, as you mostly spend most of your time within the villa.
Even though I have made sure that nobody can get to your information online, I cannot prevent them from actively coming to look for the information on you.
With this in mind, the probability of the assassin coming to the villa to deal with you is at 86%, so preparations should be made to counter the assassin. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Would you like me to make suggestions on what to do?" Onyx explained.
Michael nodded, before he said, "There is no need for the suggestions. I know what to do."
Michael did not know how powerful that assassin was, considering that the information on the mutants was something that was never uploaded online.
Instead, the information was kept in hard copy. This implied, if the information was lost, then unless there was a copy that was made before, it would truly be lost.
The only way to get that information was through asking those that already knew about it, or doing research once again.
Regardless, according to the information that was currently available, it was clear that the highest grade of the mutation serum that has been produced is only at grade A.
Of course, grade SSS assassin does not imply that the assassin is a mutant with an ability that can be graded as grade SSS by the system.
The grading of the assassins was mainly based on the skills and the completion rate of their missions.
All assassins start at the lowest level, and as they continuously accomplish the missions that they take, their level continuously increases.
And according to the information that was obtained by Onyx, it was clear that members of the death shadow assassin organization were given the chance to become mutants.
But of course, only those with incredible contributions to the organization, meaning highest level assassins were given the chance.
But given the quality of the mutation serums, it was inevitable that this was a risky venture. So, not all assassins that had reached grade A were willing to take the serum.
Michael did not think much about this. In any case, since they had already decided to target him, then there was no problem.
He would just deal with the assassin first, then deal with the organization later. As for that guy who had placed a bounty on his head, Amos Wesley, he would be dealt with eventually.
In any case, the two sides already had established enmity, and eventually, they would have to clash. That was especially with Michael dealing with both Nathan and Brian, who were important members of the Blood Reapers syndicate, especially for Nathan.
As for how to deal with this assassination organization, he needed to think about it. Currently, he did not possess much information on them.
The only reason why Onyx was able to obtain the information on mutants was after Brian mentioned it.
Otherwise, Onyx would not have dived deeper, managing to find the other databases from the government. They were quite well hidden and since that matter was not much important to Michael at that time, Onyx did not bother with it.
While Michael was communicating with Onyx, the clone just continued reading, not bothering with Michael. By now, the clone already understood that unless Michael called for it, he would not be talking to it.
For the issue of dealing with this organization, Michael thought, after dealing with the assassin sent over, he might have to pay them a visit.
Even though they were quite secretive about the headquarters of the organization, it was not impossible for Onyx to be able to find it.
But of course, considering how those guys had kept the secret of the presence of mutants, there was a possibility that the current headquarters known to Onyx was not the real one.
But no matter what, when the time came, Michael would definitely go there to deal with them. But for now, he just focused on the earpiece.
He began communicating with Onyx through the earpiece that was already activated. And with that, he no longer had to speak out loud, and Onyx could respond through the earpiece.
Michael was not sure if, he communicated with an animal, would he be able to get a feedback from it?
Unfortunately, at the moment, within the villa, there was no any cat or dog. As for communicating with flies or mosquitoes, Michael did not even consider that.
So, he left the bedroom, with the earpiece still on. In the living room below, he found that Marion and Susan were busy watching another show.
"I am heading out for a bit." Michael said, before heading towards the door without waiting for the response of the two ladies who were totally engrossed with the show.
Leaving the villa, Michael got into the Porsche, before he drove out of the residential community. He was heading towards a nearby market, where he could buy a cat or a dog.
But on the way, he thought against it. Since he did not have the intention of keeping them as a pet, and was just intent on testing out the earpiece, why not test it out at the market?
The nearest market from the residential community was quite a distance away. After all, this was a high-end residential community, and only high-end stores were closer.
For pets and other things, he needed to move a little further away from the residential community.
But still, it took him about 20 minutes to be able to get to the nearest animal shelter.
After parking the car, Michael did not immediately alight. Instead, he decided to try out the maximum range of the earpiece, to see how far he could communicate with others.
Of course, he hoped that it could allow him to communicate with people or creatures quite far away from where he was. That way, it could make some things convenient.
From 60 meters away, the animal shelter appeared as a plain, rectangular building with wide glass doors at the front. Through the entrance, the brightly lit lobby was visible, with a small reception desk to the left and a hallway stretching deeper inside.
Along the right side of that hallway stood a row of glass-front enclosures, the cat section. Even from outside, the line of cages could be seen through the clear panels and interior lighting.
About 10 meters past the entrance, in one of the middle enclosures, a black cat rested on a folded gray blanket at the back of its cage. Its dark fur blended with the shadows, but the faint glint of its eyes gave it away as it sat quietly inside the glass-front enclosure.
Since the earpiece was already on, all that Michael had to do was to think about what he wanted to relay, and choose the target.
All of this was decided mentally. So, it happened in just a flash, as Michael, with his enhanced vision, looked towards the black cat.
At this moment, Michael thought that if he wanted the cat to react, he would need to inform it of something that would make it do so.
Asking it to do a backflip was obviously impossible, most probably, the cat would not even bother to do that.
But, what if he told it that there was food? So, in his mind, he thought of informing the cat that there was food behind it.
The reaction of the cat left Michael slightly dumbfounded, because it was almost the instant that he finished thinking about it that the cat reacted.
It suddenly stood up, before looking behind it. Obviously, it was looking for the food.
Michael was not really sure about how the information was relayed in the mind of the cat. But even then, one thing was clear, the moment that he thought of something, it would immediately be relayed to the cat.
Trying to make sure that this was not a coincidence, Michael informed the cat that the food was behind it once again.
And just like before, the moment that he finished thinking about it, the cat turned around, obviously searching.
At this moment, as the cat did not find what it was looking for, something that shocked Michael happened.
"Where is it? I can’t see anything." A feminine voice suddenly sounded in Michael’s ears through the earpiece.
Michael had obviously not anticipated this. Clearly, this was the cat that was speaking. Of course, it was not speaking like a human mood, but it was thinking about this.
And just like him, the cat was directing the thoughts towards the source of the information that it had received.
Simply put, the earpiece did not allow Michael to be able to read the minds of others.
According to his understanding, when the user chose to communicate with an animal, the Neural Relay Earpiece would first detect the weak bioelectric signals produced by the target’s brain.
All brains emit small brain wave patterns, and the device could scan these signals to identify when the target formed a reaction or intent in response to the user’s message.
The device would then isolate those response brain waves instead of the animal’s full mental activity. Its translation core would convert the detected patterns into structured meaning and turn them into synthetic speech, which would be played through the earpiece as a clear voice the user could hear.
The device could not read minds because it only worked within an active communication loop. When the user sent a thought, the earpiece would trigger a small neural signal that prompted a response. Only the reply signals tied to that interaction would be captured and translated into voice, while all other brain activity would be ignored.
