Quintin’s POV

As I opened my eyes, I saw the familiar ceiling of my room and felt the familiar feel of my own bed. There was a few seconds of confusion as I tried to remember the last thing I was doing because I surely don’t remember coming home and going to sleep in this bed at all.

As the events of yesterday slowly clear up in my mind, I couldn’t help but widen my eyes and gasp. I abruptly sat up from my bed but then a slight soreness on my lower back and in between my legs startled me. I also noticed that I am totally naked and my body is full of red marks that looked like big mosquito bites.

Wait... Mosquito bites? Do we have mosquitoes in this area? No, this aren’t...

As more memories of yesterday afternoon’s events poured into my mind, I couldn’t help but feel flustered and embarrassed as to how I tried to seduce the royal envoy that I just met today. This is definitely not something I would do!

But she... She... She did those things... That was...

I hurriedly looked for some clothes to cover myself with. I stood up to go to my closet but just when I stood up, I fell on the floor on my butt as my legs weakened. I couldn’t help but curse under my breath in annoyance at my situation.

I started crawling to my closet slowly and dressed myself up while still sitting on the ground. I have never felt this weak in my entire life especially since I started training to become a full fledged adventurer and a mercenary.

After dressing myself up, I crawled back towards my bed which is on my way to the door but I stopped in my tracks as I saw a small glass bottle with some deep green liquid in it. Under it was a note that says, "If you are reading this, then you are finally awake. Drink this. You will need it, I am sure. And yeah, good morning."

From the tone of this note, it must be from her. Is that all she has to say to me, "Good morning" and "Drink this" after the things that happened yesterday?

Even if I was annoyed about how nonchalant she was about everything that happened, I still drank whatever is in that bottle since I want to at least be able to stand up instead of crawlinh out of my room. I don’t want my parents to see me weak and helpless so early in the morning. freёweɓnovel_com

I woke up early in the morning feeling refreshed. I always feel like this after some action for some reason while other people I guess feels spent or tired. I am sure the other guy is tired so I left that revitalizing potion at his bedside just to be sure he could get out of the room if he wanted to.

After waking up, since the sun is barely up, I used my time to do a quick check on the crops at the different farms in the town while inhaling the early morning fresh air. I then went to the trading post to check if there are any responses to the letters I recently sent. Luckily, I already got responses from all of them.

I read the letter from Grandpa Mage first since it has important items that this town needs to progress. I then got a very gold and flashy envelope from my in-laws at the palace which was full of appreciation of the things that I was doing in the name of their son but they told me that I should get merits under my own name once in a while too.

After the quick visit at the trading post, I went to the community kitchen to start helping out in the breakfast preparation. Since this is a small town, after enjoying several meals shared with others, the people decided to make it a habit to have meals together and have the community help in the preparations. They said that it was more convenient since the cooking and cleaning jobs are delegated and afterwards, the farmers can immediately return to their jobs after eating at the plaza.

As I was helping in the food preparation, I suddenly felt chills down my spine as I felt a glare directed at me from somewhere around the area. I already have an idea though where it came from so I simply ignored it for now. Breakfast is my current priority.

It only took half an hour for the meal preparation to be completed with all the hands working together. During that whole time, the glare was directed at me as if trying to make sure that I feel uncomfortable.

The chief and his wife came to the community kitchen once the food was done cooking and the people started serving the food. I sat on one of the seats at the table nearest the cooking area and waited patiently.

Not even a minute has passed since I have taken a seat when Quintin sat forcefully on the seat right across from where I am. He was looking at me with a cold demeanor but he was not saying anything. I simply looked away and just as I did, I saw the chief and his wife coming our way. The couple sat to the left side of their son with smiles on their faces as they were looking at the food for breakfast.

I stood up and went to the kitchen to get my own food and see where I could help out to make the service faster. Quintin also stood up and followed closely behind me but he still wasn’t speaking. In a low voice I told him, "Just so you know, I brought you home unconscious but fully clothed. I did not say anything to your parents so before you come at me, you better explain to them first. I am not going to say anything from my end."

I slowly turned my head to check at his reaction and as expected, he looked stunned. Well, I did remove all of his clothes after putting him to bed but that was done after I left his house, purely through magic so he can sleep more comfortably. It must have caused a misunderstanding on his naïve mind.
