Chapter 421: Chapter 421 - The Larkspur Treasure Hunting Team

After the ground loosened up, I lifted all of it off the ground and kept it hidden in my storage for a bit. I placed a huge timer that says "one hour, zero minutes, zero seconds". I also told them that it is the limit of the effectivity of the spell I did since it is a combination spell that is incredibly draining. It is not that I do not have enough mana but it is just that it is better to use it to make milk, you see.

I gave a heads up to all the people of the village that we can start the excavation and if they find something that was too big to bring out, I can assist them in lifting it and putting it aside. Somebody even asked me if it is possible to just lift the whole house or building. I told him I could but the time remaining out of the one hour will be greatly reduce because of the mana consumption. They decided against it as a collective and opted to take as much as they can out of the still usable materials instead.

As the soil, muddy water and debris got cleared out, they were surprised to see that all the houses and the stuff in it are in pristine condition as if they were just newly built. The people immediately understood that it was not just a simple excavation but it was combined with time reverse magic so they immediately ran through the ruins moving about as quickly as they could.

The duke’s family helped out their attendants first with rummaging through their previous homes, making sure that they can take all their valuables. It was systematic and quick. Their team work is definitely impeccable not only in fighting but also in menial jobs like this one.

The previous barracks used by the attendants and the guards were cleared out in a span of 15 minutes. They brought out clothes, weapons, defensive equipment, cooking utensils and I even helped out in taking out the bulkier ones like training equipment, bunk beds, big closets and long cupboards. They also took basic items like farming tools, axes, rope. fishing nets, carriages and carts.

The next place they rummaged through is the previous infirmary of the territory. They asked me to lift out the huge cabinets full of dried herbs, potions, pills and medical supplies. On the side, they started packing up the equipment for making medicine, the patient beds and other medical supplies. This place only took 10 minutes to finish with each able bodied individual helping out.

Once all the items they took from the two previous places have been secured on one side, the duke started giving orders and assigning people in each area of the huge mansion to secure items. He, his wife and his daughter led one group of people each so that somebody will lead and decide which items to take per each section of the huge property. This is a very good strategy given that their time is running out too quickly.

The duchess was assigned to the kitchen, food storage, the miscellaneous storage, dining hall and the master’s bedroom. She led her group to efficiently take out all the food items, cooking utensils, beddings, mattresses, bags of cotton, bolts of cloth, sewing supplies and equipment, her own clothes and jewelry. She did not forget to take the bulkier furniture that was made of good quality metal and wood. I had to help out lifting out those cabinets, dressers, beds, drawers, tables, chairs, cushioned seats, carpets and rugs.

On the duke’s side, he was assigned to the main hall, his personal office, his personal vault, the library, the living room and his only son’s room. He started giving orders for his group to pack up everything inside the library, the main hall and the living room including all the furniture, books and stuff. I secretly gave my father-in-law a storage ring so that he can keep all the important and confidential stuff from his personal space there. He gave me an appreciative nod and went on his way in a hurry. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

I took initiative and told him that I will take care of his son’s room and I will make sure to keep the whole thing the way it looked like right now. He looked at me for a few seconds wondering where my interest in his son’s room came from. I simply answered with a smile and though confused, he let me do it to save time.

I took everything in that room, anything that was on the floor, walls and even the ceiling werekept in my storage. My husband has to get all of his things, for sure. Well, let us just say that this is a special service I offer just for him alone.

After clearing up my husband’s room, I went on to help the other groups out. I noticed that the one that needed most help with was the duke’s daughter. Her mother assigned her to the farms, gardens, stables and finally her own room. She haphazardly packed all of the things from her room and asked me to lift all of the furniture. She did this while giving instructions to her group of people and further dividing them to the stables, gardens and farms.

My sister-in-law’s team uprooted all the vegetables, fruit trees, berry shrubs, root crops, herbs and flowering plants that they could find in the farm and mansion gardens. They also made sure to rummage the storage for seeds, fertilizers, animal feed, gardening tools and machinery. They took all the animals that are still miraculously alive due to my time reverse spell as well. I helped them keep all the barns, stables and pens that have already been built so we can just transfer it to the new farms later.

The others that have been done with their assigned areas started rummaging the market area and the houses around it for anything useful. It is not like their owners still know that these things can be retrieved so might as well get most out of these freebies.

A few seconds before the time is up, everybody has left the ruins. Before they could even catch their breaths, they saw all the soil, muddy water and debris pour back to where they were in just a matter of seconds. While they were distracted, I turned all the structures that still look pristine to building materials and kept it in my storage. The other people thought that the illusion was just fading as the things slowly turn to dust and disappearing while being covered by the mud.

Well, it is my little secret of being a cheapskate. I refuse to cover all of the construction materials to rebuild this territory. It has to come from somewhere aside from my pockets, right?
