Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 106: Luna’s request
"And that is the number of people who were lost in this crisis." Nancy who usually kept a normal and placid face couldn’t help but lower her head after giving her report.
And it wasn’t only her. Every legion, regiment and battalion leader in the room were also lowering their heads at the report.
However, they were all sad for entirely different things.
The battalion and regiment leaders were naturally very sad about the loss of so many evolvers and survivors. It would have been a different case if the dead people were among the ones, who after everything decided not to cooperate and contribute in their own way to the camp.
No, and ironically, they survived. And unfortunately for them, they were among those who committed atrocities while the crisis was still ongoing.
They were now leaders, it was their responsibility to lead their subordinates, and each death stung in a different way than before.
While the Legion leaders and Nancy lowered theirs for another reason, they had way too much to worry about. Obviously, they were sad about the loss of the survivors and evolvers, however they had a bigger worry.
And as one would guess, it was the issue of the second realm that appeared.
After the treatment, Alexa had woken up and she explained the whole story of what happened. And all she could describe about the second were the waves from the battle with Jon.
They were barely able to handle so many first realm monsters and now second realm monsters were coming. In the camp currently, there weren’t up to thirty first realm evolvers at the moment, and most of them couldn’t match the highest levels of the first realm. They had only barely stopped the horde of monsters from the crisis, and most of them were unranked.
The situation was really dire.
The magnitude, the strength and the power that could be contained in a second realm, they couldn’t even begin to describe it. Maybe the worst part of it was the fact the only person who could stop that level of threat was still injured. And it had been over three days since he returned injured.
And because of that, Jenny, Alexa, Cynthia and Laura were on constant vigilante. They split themselves into the four points of the camp to keep watch, and for this meeting, they wanted to find out how the inside was doing.
Even in the meeting, they couldn’t keep their minds of it.
Naturally, Nancy also knew about it. She was literally the camp administrator, she had to know. In the camp, if Jon was the one to give the rudiment plan, Jenny and Cynthia watch over the plan, and Nancy is the one who distribute the rules, gathers the people needed for various task.
So, for something like this, which was a top-level secret, she had to know.
Since this wasn’t a main meeting, their focus wasn’t really focused. After all there would be another meeting soon,
"For now, we won’t send any teams to scout the surroundings and to gather provisions." Cynthia then said. This was another reason they decided to have this meeting; nobody could go out of the camp when there was unknown danger.
Thankfully because of the mood of the battalion and regiment leaders, they accepted it without suspecting anything. For the past three days, they had already not left the camp and with them saying it, they would stay at the camp, protecting the camp in case of any situations like before.
Like that, the meeting ended, and the regiment and battalion leaders left, leaving the legion leaders behind. However, one stayed back,
"Yes, what is it, Luna." Cynthia asked.
Now looking at her, it seemed she had something to say.
"I know this is sudden and random but," She took a deep breath and continued, "I want to become strong."
"Huh?"
"Ehh?"
"..."
The girls almost reacted violently at what she said. Then they started looking around at each other. They thought she was talking about the second realm, and someone had told her until,
"I know it’s embarrassing to say, but I don’t think I can be as strong as you four even if I was the same level."
She had seen Jenny and Cynthia fight, and she had to say, it was another level from the way they fight. They were so flexible and versatile, both of them could do long and close distance while supporting each other and the power contained in their attacks could totally overwhelm her ’blizzard.’
At first, she felt relief upon their arrival, but as they began fighting, she started feeling a bit less of herself. And it wasn’t a matter of any other thing apart from standing. Honestly, now she had begun to accept this faction, she didn’t want to lose in standing to these four ladies.
She was a leader before so she couldn’t just be demoted that way. Even if she couldn’t be the leader, she wouldn’t be too far below.
"Phew..." Jenny was the first to let out a relieved sigh when Luna continued speaking. She didn’t know what she would have done if one of the other girls actually told Luna about something that was supposed to be top secret.
Now looking at Luna again, she looked a bit embarrassed as if she said something she didn’t want to. And for a good two minutes, the place was silent.
The girls didn’t know what to say, or at least was what Luna thought.
"Everyone has something that makes them a cheat code" Surprisingly it was Laura who spoke. And even more surprising were the looks she was getting from the remaining girls.
Who among them didn’t know Jon said that. He muttered it when he said it, however they could hear it as if he had said it out loud. He had said there would be something that could make someone a cheat like character, and it was either they already had it or don’t.
What shocked the girls was, Laura was using his words as if it was hers, and to their looks, she just shrugged. Without any of them knowing, Laura had held on to those words like a prophesy, she didn’t want to believe she had unlocked her cheat code, and she was waiting to.
"What?" However as expected, Luna was confused at her words.
"I’m saying, your cheat skill could be something you already have, and you just have to change the way you use it, or you haven’t gotten it yet. But who says you can wait, just create it yourself with what you have." Laura explained.
With the way she explained, she seemed skilled in it.
"Hmm..." Luna nodded in understanding as she started thinking of it.
"Like many people don’t know, Jon’s main skill is a mind related one." Jenny said.
"What?"
"Ehh?"
"Haa..."
Alexa, Luna and Laura were shocked at her words. They didn’t even know that.
"Oh yeah..." Cynthia’s voice trailed off as she remembered. His skill was actually the bluish mist that came off him before he fought.
However now, he didn’t use it as much unless they were fighting a large number of monsters. Luna though, couldn’t really relate. She had never seen Jon fight before and the reason for her shocked expression was because of the conclusion she immediately pieced together.
From the way the girls say it, it was almost certain Jon was stronger than them. And for the fact it wasn’t an attack related like hers, it probably meant he too had found his cheat code with his skills.
"Actually, it isn’t that difficult. The system only summarizes what you can do, and your skill is limited to your mind." Jenny said with a light smile.
However again, she received weird looks from the remaining gazes.
"What...so she can use them, and I can’t?" It became clear with the way she was trying to avoid the looks she was receiving. It was also said by Jon. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Wow...he really influences you that way." Cynthia looked at Jenny with an incredulous look.
And it was true, even Cynthia could remember some of the things Jon had said. They couldn’t explain why it was like that, so they warred it off as them remembering.
But what they didn’t know was, when Jon used his ’Moon gaze’, it had a lingering effect on people. It was like it was influencing their minds, albeit in a little way.
But they didn’t know it and didn’t want to speak anymore of it. Luna might even start asking where he was at the moment.
’I hope you’re fine.’ Alexa, who hadn’t said a word from the beginning said in her mind as she looked at the general direction Jon was resting in.
And with that, the remaining girls encouraged Luna and sent her away.
"When do you think, he is going to wake up?" Laura asked.
"Normally, it is in twos." Jenny joked at the situation. All the time Jon had slept for a long time, it was usually in two days or a multiple.
Ironically, as she was saying that,
In a room in the tallest building in the camp,
Jon’s eyes fluttered open.
