Chapter 117: Tribe?

’It really worked...’

-Of course, it worked it would have been weirder if it didn’t.

Amelia frowned a little, saying it wouldn’t have made sense for it not to have worked at all and Jon was feeling something else he couldn’t explain. He had received the information on what it could do however, seeing it work was totally different.

It was like the universe gave them a prize for surviving so far and said, ’Survive some more.’

He then looked down at the dead crocodiles and actually saw drops in both of the crocodiles. One had a core and the second, an orb. He then smiled at the whole result. It wasn’t bad at all.

The only downside was they would spend more cores on the specials, and their returns were less than the investment. However, it wouldn’t always be the Specials they would fight. Other monster would surely require less, and they would be able to see their returns.

"J-Jon, what just happened?"

’Haa...’ he sighed at the thought of still having to explain even after showing the whole scene to them.

Moments like this for Jon were deeply ingrained in his ’Mind world’ and that meant any thought he had of this moment, he would remember all of it like her was reliving it. And this situation, he felt like he had already relived this situation tens of times, and to then explain it.

But he couldn’t blame them. Not everyone’s brain and thought process was like his and since they were his friends, he would explain just once.

"So, what happened now was..." Like that, he said everything as it had happened. And true to the reactions he expected.

"What?"

"T-That is possible?"

"Woah..."

This toy house they were looking at was really shattering their illusions on the things that was and not possible.

"Yes, and this would be our next camp training."

Immediately the girls understood. After a few explanations on what was going to happen was said, he looked at the girls again, "And for that, you girls need to reach the second threshold."

This time they weren’t surprised he had reached the second threshold. Heck, they would believe if he said he was a second realm.

But all of that wasn’t in their minds, there was now a new and strong drive in their minds to grow stronger.

’Good’ And Jon could read it all, he didn’t need to even use his skill to see it. They were literally emitting their own desires from their bodies.

Like that, Jon moved the toy house closer to the camp area and left the girls to train.

-Is it okay to leave them like that.

Amelia kept glancing back as she followed Jon back into the camp.

’They have new skills, treasures and new combinations to try out, staying there will only hinder them.’

-Hm, ever since you left that ’Mind world’ you started sounding wiser.

’But I am wise.’

Rolling her eyes to Jon’s words, she spotted something in the distance.

-Have you seen that?

Pointing to the direction, Jon immediately went to that direction.

He then spread his sense and saw the surroundings. No houses, no persons or living things. It was just evolvers staying around the perimeter to prevent intruding.

’Is that the place?’ The girls had explained the explosion that took away part of their camp. With a boost of is speed, he reached the area evading the senses of the evolvers around.

The almost 1-kilometer expanse of black and charred land and the sunken ground that made it look like a black pit.

Jon reached the center of the pit and knelt to feel the ground. He activated his gaze to see what was possibly wrong with it.

"So, it is cursed now." He now spoke out since there was no one close to him, once again his gaze didn’t fail him. If it was just an explosion that happened, it wasn’t meant to be like this. Even the place Jon destroyed didn’t look like this. The difference was the deaths of the survivors and evolvers in a painful manner, through explosion.

That resentment scorched the land, and though it was not noticeable now; it would spread soon.

’Those eyes of his...’ Amelia just had an idea that the land was not normal because of her higher level than the world itself. However, she couldn’t really pinpoint the reason perfectly and Jon was able to.

"So, you people would have to move soon." Amelia understood the meaning of a land been cursed. It will keep spreading until the resentment was satisfied.

"Yes. However," Jon frowned a little.

"What is it?" Amelia asked and also spread her senses around and the scorched land. And though almost invisible but still flickering around, black like lighting was moving around in various places in the scorched land.

"Wait, don’t tell me..." Amelia’s eyes widened at the thought of what could have possibly happened.

"Yes, this wasn’t a natural cause."

His frown became deeper as he said it. The girls had said that the survivors and evolvers suddenly just ran with the zombies, bundling together and then exploding. And for some strange reasons, he dismissed it as the evolution process.

And if not for Amelia calling his attention to the matter, he would have ignored it.

If it was a natural cause, he could let it go. However, someone or people came to his turf, his base, deceived his people and made them explode against their will.

"You won’t have an easy death; whoever you are." Involuntary, his bloodlust began seeping out of him.

At this point, he had fully spread out his senses and activated his gaze, however he still couldn’t figure out their plan with what he was sensing.

...

Unknown to Jon, about 10 kilometers away from his camp a village was there.

If there were two things to note about this village, the first was its shabbiness. It was as if it was rushed and made as if they were rushing it. The fences were not properly fixed around, even the huts inside had faults all around, including the larger hut at the center of the village.

And the second was, this village was never always there. Obviously, a place like this would have been swept away by the evolution storms talk-less of the worst things. That meant it just recently appeared.

And currently there was activity going on inside the village.

People suddenly rushed out of the various huts and headed to larger hut in a hurry. And if there was one thing to note about these people, it was the fact they didn’t look like humans. They were grey in color and had black designs like tattoos on their bodies.

And as for clothes, they didn’t even bother trying in that aspect. The males just tied ropes with tree leaves around them and the women only covered their lower regions, leaving their upper parts to anyone’s imagination.

Upon entering to the larger hut, as if they knew what was going on,

An older male figure wearing more leaf than the rest was in the middle of the hut smiling as the rest entered. He was their village chief.

The excitement in him was so much, he didn’t wait for the rest to enter and started speaking.

"After days of failure, our great homeland finally shines their face upon us." He raised his arms and spread them with a deep smile.

"With this, our homeland brothers and sisters will come and assist us to take this land and offer it a sacrifice to our great homeland."

"Great homeland"

"Great homeland"

"Great homeland"

The others shouted alongside with excitement and fervor.

"Now let’s go welcome our brothers and sisters of our ’shaman tribe’." The Shaman chief took the lead and left the hut.
