Chapter 69: Cheat skill

The remaining monsters were still watching the situation and not helping their comrades who were still fighting, because of the murderous intent they remembered oozing out of Jon, so they stood still.

Though they didn’t move, if they were provoked like the ones fighting were, they would also attack.

And as for what Jon thought as he watched them, he didn’t think too much about the fact that the remaining monsters didn’t gang up on them. They would die if they tried it; it was that simple.

Seeing the girls fight made him start noticing something odd. He was at level 35 when he arrived and fought with the monsters. And even with that, he was still able to dent the body of a beetle, but here, the girls were struggling.

Especially Cynthia and Jenny; they were at levels 34 and 35 too, but they couldn’t do the same thing he could. It made him think back on all the things that could have caused it, and true to his mind skills, he found the cause: Soldier’s physique.

It made him wonder, Shouldn’t everyone have gotten something like me, that thing that made them feel like a cheat code?

Then, he opened the special activation of his Moon Gaze to check. Though this was also like a cheat skill, it was more of a support type, and sometimes he didn’t even understand what he saw.

He activated the skill to see if he could spot the problem and if they truly had their cheat-like skills. He looked at them individually, and what he got was, Cynthia needs a weapon; Jenny needs to give her flame a property. He was confused at first, but when he remembered her skill was creation, it snapped in him.

Does she also get to create an attribute with it? It was surprising that she could do that. From what the skill told him, it was real fire, but it was still more or less like the one she created using her skill.

She needed a property like it burns the soul, or burns attacks, or burns a surface. And surprisingly, it was still silver in color because she hadn’t given it a property yet.

Wait, her creation is also silver in color; does that mean it is incomplete, too? He didn’t know if he was right, but it was a wild guess.

He didn’t feel any changes in his body, and the system didn’t say anything, but he had a feeling he was right about it.

Moving on, he looked at Alexa, and maybe because of the little affection for her, he tried to peer more. Truthfully, he didn’t need to see more to realize what she could improve. He had thought of almost every scenario to use his Vector when he had enough mana.

Not to talk of the general Space and Gravity. And true to his idea, it was similar to what he thought of: She also needs to use gravity on herself. It sounded crazy, but that was it. Then, looking at Laura, and surprisingly, she had no fault currently.

She was fighting from a middle distance, utilizing all the laws she could use to the best of her ability. Her output had certainly improved upon entering the first realm, but she needed more power; that was all for her. Now that he had seen the problems, it was time to help them in his own way.

...

The girls were getting pushed back, and before they knew it, they were standing beside each other, breathing heavily.

They had cuts and bruises all over their bodies. Blood was even pouring out profusely in some parts of their bodies, but they didn’t mind it.

After seeing that monster fight, Cynthia shook her head as she focused. They didn’t even glance at each other; they just looked forward at the monsters about to converge and attack together. Then the girls, too, were about to move at the monsters when they froze in their tracks.

Krrrr

The monsters who were approaching them suddenly stopped moving and even moved back slightly. The girls looked in shock and looked around them, and suddenly saw Jon standing in their midst.

"Gaah!"

"What?"

"Eeek!"

The girls freaked out as they saw him standing in their midst; they hadn’t even sensed him.

Jon was visibly shaking his head as he saw their reaction to his entrance. They were not scared of the monsters in front of them, but a little surprised. But he didn’t dwell on it.

"Hey, guys." He greeted them with a smile that he hadn’t given them in a while. It was as if they were meeting on a nice day and not on the verge of a death battle. Though the smile wasn’t exactly a smile; after all, almost all his body was also covered in dried or still fresh blood, and it made his body bloody.

"Y-You—"

"..."

The girls were now backing away from him; then, in confusion, he looked at himself, still covered in blood.

But that couldn’t be the reason, right? Thankfully, he got his answer almost immediately.

"Monster!" Laura shook her head vigorously at what she remembered seeing.

"Mm?" Jon tilted his head in confusion. Were they mistaking him for a monster? But it turned out they weren’t.

"Jon, tell me honestly. What are you?" Cynthia regained her composure and asked seriously.

"What do you mean?" he asked in confusion.

"Are you still seriously asking after this?" Jenny stretched out her hand and pointed all over the field.

Now looking at it seriously, deep and large holes were all over the area, corpses of beetles and spiders all around the field, and an almost nonsensical amount of blood all around them. It was quite devastating.

"Wait, I did this?" Now, looking at the place, it was like a monster had passed by and massacred them. He was shocked; he couldn’t believe he did it.

But what if I was among the beetles, and someone—that is, me—did this? He shivered at the thought of being the victim in this situation.

"And what the hell, Moon Descent: Fall?" Cynthia immediately changed to mocking him, even pointing her finger downwards to imitate him.

"You saw that too?" Jon shakily pointed his finger at her. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Why do you think we called you a monster?" She was now the one shaking her head, trying to shake off the thoughts. "Anyways, what’s up with these monsters?"

"Yeah, you looked like you had an easier time than we." Alexa clicked her tongue as she remembered the way Jon fought. It seemed she wanted to fight like that, too.

"Well, not easy per se, but these monsters are over level 40, so they should be at least that strong."

"Level 40?" The shock was apparent on their faces, and truthfully, when they thought about it, there shouldn’t be any monsters that high at this point. It hadn’t even been a month since the world fell.

"Yes, I feel like they were born as first realm instead." Jon then told them what he thought.

"That certainly is possible, but how?" Cynthia seemed to have more questions, but seeing Jon shaking his head, she knew he too didn’t know.

"All we can do is get stronger at a faster pace than them; maybe it was a good thing you girls came out today." He smiled at them and looked at the about 20 monsters left that had suddenly become farther from them. They had retreated ever since Jon came closer.

The girls nodded to his words and looked at the monsters, too. They understood that the only way to survive was to become stronger than they were currently. Then he began,

"Cynthia, have you thought of using a weapon?"

"A weapon?" She looked curiously at Jon’s words.

"Yes, if you have any weapon you would like to have."

"A scythe would be nice." She briefly imagined how the weapon would feel in her hands. Though she hadn’t held one before, that didn’t mean she hadn’t thought of it.

"Hmm..." Then he morphed his black rod into a scythe and gave it to her.

"Ohh, it could morph into that." She was suddenly looking at it with the same eyes that took his Lilith Battle Dress.

"Hey, I like this one." Jon frowned at the eyes she was giving him.

"Huh? Sure, yeah." She wasn’t looking at him and started swinging it around.

He sighed and looked at Jenny. "Your flame is almost like the one you create. You need to add a property to it."

"Ah, I knew about it too, but I didn’t know which one to choose." Jenny nodded her head, saying that she had an idea of it but couldn’t decide.

"Why don’t you define who you want to be to the flame, and it will give you a property? I feel that’s the best thing." Jon pointed out.

"Ohh, I can do that, but how do you know?"

Cynthia snapped her head in his direction at Jenny’s question.

"Yes, how do you do that thing?" She then looked at Laura. She remembered how Laura had suddenly seen an increase in her level after he told her something, and she started controlling lightning and her wind after that.

Laura was curious too, but she didn’t ask because she thought it was personal. But now that it was asked in public, she showed her interest.

"Actually, it is a skill that helps me see more."

"See more?" Jenny asked back.

"Exactly as you have heard, though I can’t know everything." Then he mumbled the rest in his thoughts: I can’t understand everything, too.

"Anyways, let’s finish up fast before zombies start approaching, and—" he didn’t need to say more and pointed up at the sky. It was now night, and they understood.

"Alexa, your gravity is a beautiful one, but you limit it to external. Who says you can’t use gravity on yourself?" Alexa’s eyes widened as she heard it. She didn’t need to be told more; she immediately started applying it to herself.

DUUM

As she applied the gravity on herself, she suddenly became heavy enough to crack the ground. And it didn’t stop with increasing her weight; it also increased her strength by the number of multiplications she used.

But as grand as it sounded, it would be limited to how much she could bear. If she could bear twice her weight on her, she could become twice as powerful, but she couldn’t bear four times her weight.

"See, now she has her own cheat," he muttered to himself as he looked at Alexa. He didn’t believe that he would be the only one to get a skill that could be advantageous, especially when they were all already disadvantaged.

First realm monsters were now being born all over.
