Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 74: Killian
By the time they had reached the camp again, it was already evening, and everybody had returned. From the gate, they had requested assistance for the new people who would be taken as prisoners.
So the police came forward with Nancy. "Miss Alexa, welcome." She gave a slight bow and started looking at Victor and Victoria curiously, as if waiting for something.
"We have a story of the existence of another camp to hear from these two." Alexa pointed at the twins. A look of surprise was displayed on the faces of all who heard what she said.
"T-This is—" Nancy was finally lost for words for almost the first time.
"I almost thought I wouldn’t witness this." A light breeze blew, revealing Cynthia. She was surprised at the stunned Nancy for the first time. She was always composed and acted like everything was within her predictions, but today, it shattered.
"Ah, Miss Cynthia." Nancy composed herself again and greeted.
As for Victor and Victoria, they were so stunned by the beauty of the lady that just arrived, they didn’t even register that she was also powerful. Maybe because of Jon’s leadership, Jenny and Cynthia’s beauty had been suppressed. And now that Jon was out of the picture, it was blooming in its full form.
They were truly beautiful, but who didn’t know she was also monstrously strong? And even without her strength, everyone now knew what happened to the previous leaders enough not to try anything funny.
So basically, it was only new people like Victor and Victoria who were allowed to be stunned by her beauty.
"Who?" She then noticed the twins staring at her blatantly. Only then did they adjust themselves and introduce themselves. And Alexa repeated the same thing she had said.
"Another camp?" Cynthia, too, was surprised at the situation and looked at the twins again. "I also want to hear your story."
"And we can obtain information from the leader of their chasers." Alexa then pointed at the chasers’ leader.
"Urgh..." The chasing leader was at a loss. He had thought the best time to escape would be when they got to the camp, but there were even stronger people here, making his plan worthless. Especially the stunning one. Is that their leader?
"Sorry, hi. Are you the leader?" Victoria suddenly asked.
"Why do you ask?" Cynthia asked, and Victoria just looked around and saw the way people were looking at Cynthia. She didn’t even need to explain anything.
"I see, but I’m not." She shook her head and looked in the direction Jon was with a complicated gaze.
"Oh." Victoria sounded down as she hadn’t met the leader.
"But why do you want to meet the leader?"
"I wanted to request that they help the people in my camp." She started looking with pleading eyes.
"What’s happening in your camp?" Cynthia’s voice changed slightly.
"Don’t say it, you rat!" The chasing leader began ranting that she shouldn’t talk, but Cynthia just looked at him and flicked her finger.
"ARGHHHHH!" With a flick, Cynthia had just torn off his mouth. The place was now just blood.
With a presently cold voice, she asked again, "What’s happening in your camp?"
"The leader in our camp treats the survivors as livestock for the zombies." Victoria knew she couldn’t stammer at this point, so she gave a summary that could grab their attention.
"What?" Dumbfounded gazes all fell on Victoria. Both the policemen who were meant to be patrolling and the survivors who were just passing, all heard it.
Even their very wicked leader hadn’t done that.
It was clear that Cynthia, too, was acting differently when Jon wasn’t around. But they weren’t focusing on that now.
Cynthia looked around and saw the eyes in their area. "Come inside," she said and disappeared into the wind.
"O-Okay."
"Follow me." After snapping out of their shock, Nancy led the twins to the conference room.
...
In the familiar broken conference room,
Cynthia and Jenny were already seated as Nancy, the twins, Alexa, and Laura entered the room. They wore serious expressions, but that didn’t change the look of amazement Victor was giving them.
All of them are stunning. If they were in the camp, they would have, but he didn’t finish his thoughts.
For this matter, not everyone was called. Only the five women were present. "Please start from the beginning." Nancy then urged Victoria to start.
"O-Okay. I and my brother Victor were able to survive and joined the camp closest to us, and that was where it began.
"We already had the confidence to kill the zombies, so we were able to protect ourselves. We were treated better than others since I was the camp’s healer, and my brother was among the strongest. And as I said, we weren’t treated poorly, but that Killian bastard—" She gritted her teeth as she mentioned the name ’Killian.’
Even Victor frowned at the mention of his name.
"Who’s Killian?"
"Killian leads that camp; he is a tyrant who makes others call him king. His direct subordinates are called dukes, and there are three of them. He acts as he likes. He strips old and young women naked and embarrasses them. He captured zombies, kept them in a cage, and threw survivors at them. Basically, nothing is good about him, and if I keep mentioning them..." She just shook her head as if saying it was pointless.
Maybe because most of the people here were females, but the air was getting suffocating as they kept listening to her.
"I don’t get it, why would he throw survivors at zombies?" Nancy couldn’t understand the reasoning behind it.
"Since he doesn’t like the dangers outside, he makes more zombies and kills them to level up," Victoria let out a sigh.
"And were there people who stood up against him?" It was an important question to ask. They had to know if it should be uprooted down to its root or if there were still some good ones.
"Yes, but anyone who protests magically disappears almost immediately," Victoria answered.
"He also fed them." This time, it seemed Victor knew more.
"And why were you being chased?"
"Orbs were supposed to be given to Killian, and because we were significant, we were given an orb. And it was a barrier in the black realm that could prevent entry but allow exit of anyone under the first realm," Victor explained. "And they figured out we used it to protect the survivors, so we were being chased for the key to unlock the barrier." Victor brought out a little brown shield that was glowing frequently. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
The ability of the barrier was shocking, but that wasn’t what they were after. "So, the survivors are safe now?" Jenny asked.
"Yes, but we don’t know how long it can last and when a first realm might appear."
"And none of the members of the camp are in the first realm?" Nancy asked to be certain. If that were the case, it would be possible to subdue them.
"I’m not sure about that. We haven’t seen Killian fight before, but those under him say he is strong."
"Please, we have another request."
"What is it?" Cynthia asked.
"We would like to join this camp." Victor nodded his head and looked at his sister. Seeing her nod, he looked at Cynthia for her opinion.
"If you can follow the rules and regulations, we won’t refuse a healer and an evolver." Cynthia waved her hand and looked at Nancy, nodding.
"Thank you. You can leave now. Someone will guide you."
After they left, only the girls remained inside. They were still thinking of the story they had just heard. Maybe they would have rushed immediately if they were told that they were still being "fed."
And they were especially annoyed because of the female humiliation.
"We should tell him," Cynthia said after a while of thinking.
"Okay."
"Mm." Obviously, the girls agreed on at least telling him what they wanted to do.
"Nancy, we should prepare to move."
"Yes."
On the night of Day 4,
Jon had a visitor at the blacksmith’s place.
"Cynthia?" He had sensed her presence approaching the place. And Cynthia entered.
"So hot?" Cynthia immediately covered herself in wind and walked forward.
"What a surprise. I thought you wouldn’t need me?" Jon snickered and mocked her.
Cynthia just rolled her eyes and changed into a serious mode. Seeing the seriousness in her expression, Jon stopped joking and asked, "What happened?"
"We found another camp."
"Oh?" The look of surprise was displayed on Jon’s face, but he couldn’t understand why her face was like that.
"Then..." She explained the whole thing to Jon.
Honestly, Jon wasn’t surprised by it. He had started considering all the things people would do for power in this new world. And though it wasn’t really accurate, it was similar.
He couldn’t be surprised at everything again, but that didn’t change the fact that he was still angry.
"What do you want to do?" Jon asked what she wanted to do as if that were what they would do.
"I want to destroy them." Cynthia didn’t show any change in her face when she said "destroy."
Jon just looked at her for a while and said, "Do you need me?"
"Not really." Now Cynthia revealed a sly smile.
"You—" Jon was shocked at her response, but sighed and nodded. "Do it."
"And ask Nancy to prepare for a merger."
He was already talking as if they had won.
