Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword-Chapter 55: Shall We?
Instructor Albert didn’t dwell much since Felix seemed sincerely unaware of Krisha’s current state.
Nevertheless, as soon as they appeared outside of the mists, he took out his phone and updated Felix’s current merit points after knowing Felix wouldn’t proceed for the last round.
He was quite stunned to see Felix was already on the thirteenth ranking.
He smiled at Felix, causing the latter to be curious.
He said in an enigmatic tone, "You’re doing better than I think. But don’t forget that the higher the rank of the outer disciples, the stronger they are. The higher the merit points you have to chase."
He gave Felix a mischievous smile. "Good luck for reaching Top 1 for the next two months."
Felix chuckled. It was quite forced, he was still unsettled because of how Krisha was acting.
He simply couldn’t help but worried.
He thought. I’ll invite her later for dinner.
...
Felix returned to his room and meditated with Rain. After an hour of meditation, he failed to ascend to Awakener Rank 7.
Even after the whole day of practice, two rounds of ramble, and hours of meditation, he still failed to ascend another minor rank.
He asked the Guide, "Why is it getting difficult?"
[Haven’t you noticed? You’re facing a bottleneck in your comprehension. Everything becomes repetitive for you.]
Felix fell into deep thought. He sighed.
During their meditation, it was mostly helping Rain ate the energy on the surroundings. Felix barely amplify the energy in his body.
But, if I keep this pace, I’ll reach Awakener Rank 7 in the fourth day. Unless I get to fight a powerful disciple that wears me out.
Felix slowly accepted the fact that his progress slowed down a bit.
The fact that he reached Awakener Rank 6 was already impressive. He already surpassed a Beast Tamer Monarch’s potential.
Nevertheless, the only reason other people who noticed his rapid ascension in the minor ranks connected it to his strange summoning. It wasn’t worth to be envied about and hated him, or nagging him how he does it.
What occurred on the past few days already conveyed it.
Felix glanced at his watch and just in time the dinner bell rang.
He left his room and didn’t hesitate to knock on Krisha’s door.
He tried five times and still failed to receive a response. He tried again one last time and the door was abruptly opened.
Felix was about to open his mouth and ask to have a dinner with her when he was shocked after seeing Krisha’s face.
There were dark circles around her eyes and her hair were disheveled. There were no make up on her face, but she was still pretty, nonetheless.
Felix was completely taken aback.
He asked with tone filled with concerns, "A-Are you okay? Should you be taking a rest?"
Krisha stared at him with indifferent gaze.
She said, "I’ve just reached rank 3. There’s still quite a long way for me to go."
She was about to close the door, when Felix pushed his foot and arm to stop the door.
He said in a solemn tone, "Let’s have a dinner. Food nourishment is important."
Krisha was quite surprised of how aggressive Felix appeared. However, after understanding the reason, she finally gave in and sighed.
She walked towards him, pushed him away, and began to walk towards the cafeteria, leaving Felix stunned.
He closed the door and hurried to walk beside her.
At the same time, he thought. I think I finally understand the reason.
They walked side by side quietly until they were now sitting in front of each other while eating.
Krisha kept her head lowered while eating slower than before.
Felix noticed it and said, "Why are you being hard on yourself?"
Krisha didn’t reply for a minute.
Felix sighed. "I’ve been worried about you. I couldn’t focus and now, seeing you in that state, I just won’t let this slide."
Krisha remained silent.
However, inwardly, she was quite stunned.
He got worried that much? Was it because I told him that the reason I distanced myself from him was related to him?
In the end, she was quite guilty.
She asked, "How did you well on the ramble earlier?"
Felix stared at her with narrowed gaze and replied, "I won and participated two rounds, still earning special merit recognition."
"So, you were doing well."
"Only during the battle. But now, I don’t think I still want to participate in the ramble tomorrow."
Felix lied. He only said them simply because he wanted to force Krisha to be open towards him.
Krisha sighed. "I thought I already told you that it’s not because of you."
"Yes. But if I can do something, I’ll do it."
"You can’t. In the end, only I can help myself."
"How do you know?"
"Because it’s for me, Felix."
She finally gazed at him.
A tear crawled out of her eyelids.
Felix was completely taken aback.
He softened his expression and said in a gentle tone, "I understand now. But, there’s something within me that tells me I can help you, Krisha. Also, you wouldn’t have been distancing yourself from me."
Krisha controlled her breathing to prevent herself from crying.
She lowered her gaze and head too, declining the urge to weep.
She said, "I-I just thought you don’t need me anymore."
Felix’s eyes widened. He suddenly recalled the benefits he earned from the Beast Tamer Association.
He had been in contact with them to fully understand the benefits.
Furthermore, there was also Master Shen and Master Vey, who seemed to favor him a lot.
In other words, what Krisha said was right.
Felix didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
He said, "To be honest, I thought that since I don’t need you will show that I didn’t just befriended you simply because I need something. Being independent now doesn’t mean I won’t be grateful for what you have done for me.
I still want to repay you not only as something as I owe to you but as your friend. Isn’t that already obvious, Krisha?"
Krisha was surprised.
She couldn’t finally stop herself from sobbing.
"I-I’m sorry..."
"There’s no need to apologize," Felix quickly replied.
He let Krisha sobbed for a while, as he glared at the other people, whose been peeking at them.
When Krisha’s weep slowed down, Felix said, "I know why you’ve been hard on yourself. You know, it’s quite painful to realize that you’ve seen me more as a rival than your friend.
Can I ask a favor?"
Krisha was silent for a while and finally asked, "What?"
"Let’s continue to help each other, shall we?"
