Leveling Up by Seducing Milfs-Chapter 117. The Demon King
The desert wind blew the sand fog away, making it thinner. Carmilla and Natasha stood still, crying as they waited to see what was left of Rick.
Every demon warrior on the battlefield stopped talking and fighting because they thought they would see the broken body of the human who had thrown himself in front of certain death.
But when the dust settled, what they saw was beyond what they had expected.
Rick was still alive. Beaten up and thrown several meters by the shockwave of the impact, but still alive.
And Zara held him in her arms, having caught him in the air so he wouldn’t hit the ground. Her face showed shock and maybe protectiveness.
But what caught everyone’s attention was the giant figure standing where the Corruption Titan’s fist should have crushed Rick into a paste.
It was the Demon King named Zork.
The Demon King Zork was seven feet tall and had a strong body that showed signs of age but not weakness. His skin was a dark gray-black that seemed to soak up light, and huge, curved horns grew from his head.
One of the horns was chipped near the tip from an old battle. There were scars all over his exposed skin, proof that he had survived centuries of war.
His armor was plain and looked like it had been in a lot of fights. It had been dented and fixed so many times that it was difficult to tell what the original design was.
But it wasn’t his looks or his armor that got everyone’s attention. The fact that his bare hand was wrapped around the Corruption Titan’s huge fist and holding it in place as easily as someone would catch a thrown ball.
The Demon King hadn’t even pulled out a weapon. He just showed up and stopped the killing blow with his hand.
For one heartbeat, the battlefield was completely still. Then the demon army came out.
"Hey! It’s Lord Zork, everyone!"
"LORD ZORK!"
"LORD ZORK IS BAACCCCKKKK!!!"
The chant grew like a tidal wave, with thousands of voices screaming the name with respect, hope, and new energy.
Younger demons who had never seen their retired king fight were wide-eyed as they watched a legend come to life.
Veterans cried openly, and their worn faces showed how pleased they were that their king had come back in their darkest hour.
Zara still held Rick, and her amber eyes were wide with shock and joy as she looked at the Demon King.
She whispered, "My lord," and her voice was barely heard over the chanting. "You came..."
Rick can’t believe his own eyes and fate, out of all the people that could come and save him, it was the Demon King all along. And for him, it felt so weird because he knew from all the stories and games that the Demon King was always treated as the big villain who doesn’t have any heart.
Rick just smiled and thought. "Thank you, Demon King... if it wasn’t for your help, I might just die in a stupid way without tasting any more MILFs..."
Zork didn’t look at her yet. He kept his eyes on the Corruption Titan and held its fist in place without making it look like he was trying.
"Did you really think I would let my wife, who’s the key for the future peace, die, Zara?"
Zara’s face changed to show a rare weakness. "You said you were done with fighting."
"You said you were done with all of your duties and retired..."
Zork’s laugh was low and funny. "I lied."
"My dear, old warriors never really stop fighting."
"We’re just waiting for good reasons to come back." Finally, he looked down at Rick, who was still in Zara’s arms. "And it appears that brave fools give us those reasons."
Even though Rick was worn out and scared of being so close to someone with so much power, he looked the Demon King in the eye.
Zork’s eyes were old and heavy with the weight of centuries, but they were sharp and judging as they looked at the person who had tried to kill himself.
The moment seemed to last forever as everyone waited to see how the Demon King would judge the human consort.
Zork then threw his head back and laughed. A deep, booming sound full of real joy echoed across the battlefield.
"HA! This little person tried to stop a Corruption Titan?!" He laughed even harder, and his voice could be heard over the sounds of battle.
"With a broken body and no power left? TO SAVE MY WIFE?!"
He hit his knee with his free hand, the one that wasn’t holding the Titan’s fist, and laughed even harder. Demons on the battlefield looked lost.
Was their king making fun of the human? Or was this something else?
Zara tensed up and wrapped her arms around Rick to protect him.
Zork used his forearm to wipe away tears of joy. "That was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in all my years of war! A human saving one of the most dangerous demons of all time!"
"GEHAHAHAHAHA!"
Rick was able to smile weakly even though his body hurt. "Thanks... I guess?"
"I thought the Demon King would aura farm or some shit, but he acts all goofy... well, I can’t debate on that because it has the comedy genre on it." Rick said in his mind.
Zork’s smile got bigger, and it showed far too many sharp teeth. "Also the BRAVEST." His face got serious, almost like he was showing respect.
"You couldn’t win." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"You knew you were going to die."
"You jumped anyway because someone needed help."
"THAT is what makes a true warrior, no matter what species or level of power they are!"
He looked at Zara, and his face softened a little. "My wife, this one has balls made of demon steel."
"I understand why you’re putting him through the alliance test."
"He has the spirit but not the strength yet."
Rick had never seen the scary demon general blush before, so it was a surprise to see Zara do it. "My lord, it’s not just about his spirit."
"The network of connections he has—"
"Save the conversation for later, Zara," Zork said, his voice getting harder. "First, I need to wipe the floor with this asshole."
He looked at the Corruption Titan, which had been trying to get its fist out of his grip but failing. "And I’ve been itching for a real fight."
"Retirement is boring anyway."
Zork carefully took Rick from Zara’s arms and gave him to a demon soldier nearby, as if he were as light as a feather. "Take care of the brave fool."
"It would really annoy me if he died after I went through all the trouble to save him."
He smiled and told Rick, "Watch and learn, boy."
"This is how legends do battle."
Zork cracked his knuckles, which sounded like breaking rock. He rolled his shoulders to loosen up muscles that clearly hadn’t been in a fight in years. And yet, he didn’t pull out a weapon.
He started to walk towards the Corruption Titan as if he were going to spar with it instead of a twenty-foot-tall monster of pure evil. The Titan roared and swung its huge, corrupted greatsword in a horizontal slash that was meant to cut the Demon King in half.
But...
Zork caught the sword with only his two fingers.
The weapon’s corruption tried to spread up his fingers, and dark veins tried to infect him. The dark veins burned away immediately because they were unable to take hold.
Zork looked at the corruption with a sense of disappointment. "Corruption? Come on now!"
"When I was younger, I fought REAL demons from the Abyss itself."
"Evil beings that would make this look like a bad dream for a kid." He held the blade tighter, and it started to break. "This is NOTHING."
Zork pulled back his other fist, and all the demon warriors who had worked for him knew what he was doing right away. It was a famous move that had won wars and broken armies.
"DEMON KING’S FIST: WORLDBREAKER!"
