Life Simulation: My Talent Is Wool-Chapter 18: Predators and Prey
After lunch, on the sofa in the shared living room with the kitchen, Luan was playing with his smartphone.
Besides searching for information on talents related to dreams in the Book of a Thousand Lives, he also frequently researched on Earth, even bought some books online, but none gave the desired result.
But one thing was certain. His twin sister’s talent was practically confirmed to be related to a talent connected to dreams.
The only problem was that there is a very large diversity of talents related to dreams.
The real problem is... There was someone in a situation similar to his sister’s. Just as he wanted to try, they removed the devices connected to the patient, but in the end, the patient not only didn’t wake up, but suffered cardiac arrest and ended up passing away.
It was hard to find, it was an isolated case that happened in a small country. He was lucky to find it by using the translator, and unintentionally managed to set it to this country’s language and search on the internet.
"Sigh~"
’Still no definitive answer...’ He thought.
He set the smartphone aside, closing his eyes with his head resting on the back of the sofa.
There were similar cases that were successful in waking the patient, but the information on how it was done was omitted. In most cases, it only said they paid an amount "X" to hire "X" doctor.
Most of the hired doctors were Lv3 specialists who had talents related to healing or dreams.
None of them were cheap, not to mention that, without connections, even having money, it would be very difficult to get an appointment with them.
’In the end, I can only depend on the Book of a Thousand Lives to find a solution.’
Having said that, he kept his eyes closed while entering the book.

Opening his eyes, Luan found himself holding a large fork near the campfire, sitting on a tree trunk.
He felt a little dizzy, but it was momentary.
Pausing, he came back to himself, reaching out to turn over the meat that was roasting on the grill.
Once again, it was king cobra roasted meat.
This wasn’t the only meat they had, but it was definitely the best they had.
...
Minutes later, Luan and Catharina were finishing eating.
Even though it wasn’t the first time, it was undeniably delicious, to the point of wanting to eat with eyes closed, just to savor the taste better.
When they finished eating, it still left a lingering feeling of longing...
"Ahh, that was delicious~" Luan rubbed his slightly bloated belly.
"Yes~" Catharina agreed in a soft tone.
Unlike him, she who ate the same amount, even a little more, still had her belly completely flat.
Her metabolism was enviable. She almost literally lived up to the title that beautiful women don’t do number 2.
...
After cleaning everything up, they set off.
Almost an hour walking, the sweat had already started dripping from Luan’s forehead.
Glancing in Catharina’s direction, she looked perfectly normal, as if she hadn’t taken more than ten steps.
"Is there something on my face?" Catharina asked upon noticing his gaze.
"Uh..." Luan looked forward again: "It’s nothing."
"Ohh..."
...
At a river, there was a group of three elephants drinking water. One larger, another a little smaller, and another much smaller, obviously a calf.
Not far away, crouched in the lush green grass, near a large tree, were two lionesses.
The two lionesses were patiently watching the three elephants.
Unaware of the predators lurking, the elephants were using their trunks, drawing water and spraying it into the sky, creating a rainbow of colors with the water, soaking themselves.
The largest elephant drew water and with a jet of water, poured it onto the largest elephant, soon emitting a loud sound similar to a bugle horn.
The calf seemed happy, jumping with its front feet, making "splash – splash" in the water with its feet, raising its trunk, producing a sound, but it sounded like the sound of a balloon that had its knot untied.
*ROARRRR!*
*Flap-flap*
*Flap-flap*
*Flap-flap*
Suddenly, a fierce roar echoed. It was a roar that reminded one of a lion.
The two lionesses that were crouched went into a state of alert.
The elephants, especially the adults, also looked in the direction of the roar.
Birds from various areas flew off, some imitating distinct sounds, others simply fled as fast as possible into the sky.
The largest elephant sensed something, and upon looking, saw the two lionesses.
*Pawoo!!*
A loud sound came from the elephant’s trunk, even causing vibration in the air.
That alerted the lionesses, startling them.
The largest elephant was Lv2 while the two were Lv1.
They did not intend to attack the elephants alone, but rather, were waiting for the other lioness to return with their king.
But, from the previous roar, something seemed to have happened.
*DOM! DOM! DOM! DOM!*
While the lionesses didn’t seem to know what to do, the largest elephant advanced toward them.
*Roar! Roar!*
Retreating, the lionesses roared at the elephant.
The other elephant stayed behind to defend the calf.
The closer the elephant got, the greater the contrast became. It wasn’t a matter of double, nor triple the size, it was like an adult man in front of two helpless little mice.
With the trunk swinging in front, almost like a whip, sonic cracks echoed.
Fear was present in the lionesses’ eyes. They obviously knew they had no chance against an elephant of this size.
*Pawoo!!*
Raising its trunk, the elephant brought it down with force.
*Booom!*
The two lionesses jumped, dodging, but the elephant was clever and had already predicted it, changing the path of the trunk, striking the ribs of one of the lionesses.
"Roarrr!"
A roar of pain came from the lioness’s mouth mixed with a lot of blood that came out of her mouth.
The lioness’s body was slammed against the ground, forming a small crater.
The other lioness didn’t think twice and fled between the trees.
The elephant did not pursue her, but instead, returned to the side of the other two elephants.
