Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster-Chapter 37 - 36: Power Truly Is a Good Thing
The nurse listened to her words, her smile unchanged, and said calmly:
"I’m sorry, we don’t know that, you’ll need to ask your attending physician. If you don’t have any other matters, I’ll leave now. Please call me if you need anything."
South Grant looked at the nurse’s professional smile and thought to himself: She’s surely thinking, ’smiling outside, cursing inside.’
After the nurse finished speaking, she turned and left the ward, while the woman muttered angrily under her breath.
She casually took out her phone, dialed a number, and when it connected, she spoke angrily to the person on the other end:
"Quentin Young, it’s disappointing that you’re still a leader in the military district, yet your son is hospitalized without even a decent room, sharing with who knows who. I want to transfer the child to another hospital!"
It seemed the person on the other end said something to calm the woman’s agitated mood.
After hanging up, the woman sat by the bed and shot a glance at South Grant.
Hmph, let’s see how you handle this mess later!
About half an hour later, a man in military uniform arrived.
After coming in, the man looked around the ward and then asked the woman sternly:
"What exactly is going on?"
"It’s this guy, just now while queuing to pay, he insulted me! I don’t want to share a ward with him, I want to change rooms."
The man glanced coldly at South Grant, "Who’s the child’s attending physician?"
"It’s Dr. Lawson," the woman replied.
The man then turned and left, while South Grant couldn’t be bothered to deal with them, thinking it would be better if they moved out, saving him the trouble of being around them, which affected his appetite.
It didn’t take long for the man to return.
He spoke soothingly to his wife: "The hospital wards are indeed full, please bear with it for now. The doctor said they’ll be discharged this afternoon, and by then, no one else will be placed in this ward."
"Aren’t the wards on the rooftop empty?" The woman believed Quentin Young was still a leader, so staying in the senior ward on the rooftop was not unreasonable.
Quentin Young’s face showed a slight tinge of embarrassment as he said, "The rooftop is currently occupied by Old Commander Foster, and no one else is allowed in that whole floor. It’s beyond my control, even someone of a higher rank couldn’t change that."
The woman finally gave up upon hearing this.
South Grant, listening to the couple’s conversation, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
What do they mean by arranging to discharge this afternoon?
Seth’s condition isn’t looking optimistic. South Grant had no intention of discharging, and this morning the doctor said that Seth needs 3 to 5 days of observation in the hospital.
Now the doctor is saying Seth is being discharged, it was evident that this man had spoken to the doctor.
South Grant stayed silent, waiting to see what the doctor would say later.
Near noon, Seth had his IV removed, and the doctor told the nurse to inform them that they could be discharged.
South Grant went to find the doctor, explaining Seth’s current condition.
But the doctor didn’t listen to what she said and directly issued her a discharge certificate.
With a somewhat cold expression, he said: 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"It’s merely a fever and infection, monitoring at home is sufficient. If you’re worried, you can go to a hospital in the city. Currently, our beds are full, and the dean personally instructed to prioritize military families."
Those words made it clear to South Grant that their current status wasn’t enough, even for the most basic ward in the military district.
Hearing the doctor’s words, South Grant understood at that moment why people seek fame, wealth, power, and influence.
Power truly is a fine thing.
