Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 141 - 142 Bloodstain 1
It’s been ten years, nearly half his life. Whether he likes it or not, she has already melded into his blood and etched into his bones. Letting her go would be akin to killing him.
Why did she have to entangle with him back then? Why give up halfway now?
After he finally understood his own feelings, she told him she no longer loved him.
It’s truly too much...
Clearly, he has been forgiven so many times before, clearly forgiving him just this once would be enough, so why won’t she forgive now?
Brandan Hyde’s eyes turned slightly red, he closed his eyes and then took a deep breath, pushing open the bedroom door.
**************************
The lights inside were off, silent, with only the moonlight streaming in from outside the window.
Iris Harris lay covered in blankets, a thin figure. As he walked over, he saw the bandage wrapped around her forehead, faint traces of blood seeping through.
His heart ached terribly. He wanted to touch her, but feared waking her up.
Brandan sat on the sofa opposite the bed, slowly closed his eyes.
Perhaps he had already fallen for her long ago.
He recalled ten years ago, when he had just returned from the United States and saw Iris Harris for the first time.
It was in the shimmering light of early spring sunshine. He remembered she wore a white fluffy scarf that day, ran over excitedly, called out to him, Brandan.
He still recalled what he was thinking when he saw her.
Her hair, like seaweed, slightly curled, draped over her shoulders, perfectly framing her delicately exquisite face, her skin so white it was nearly transparent under the sunlight.
So white.
He thought to himself.
Brandan opened his eyes, as if the smile of Iris Harris from back then appeared before him again.
At that time, she was really excited, really enthusiastic, as if it wasn’t the first time she had met him.
If at that time, he had greeted her with a "hello" instead of "who are you," would things between them have turned out differently?
Perhaps it was at that moment he had already fallen for her, otherwise, how could he still clearly remember the way they were ten years ago?
But he was too dense, too complacent, thinking Iris Harris would always love him, until he did something irrevocable that hurt her heart completely.
Brandan stood up from the sofa, walked over to the window, took a deep breath of the biting cold air outside, feeling both cold and hurt, unable to tell if it was regret or remorse.
Perhaps there was still a chance to save things, or perhaps there wasn’t.
But as it stood now, he could no longer let go. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
He recognized his own heart, yet it didn’t change anything.
Brandan lowered his eyes and sighed silently.

Iris Harris opened her eyes, staring at the white ceiling above.
Her head felt a bit dizzy, for a moment, she couldn’t even remember who she was.
"Awake?"
A male voice sounded beside her ear, she slightly turned her head and saw Brandan Hyde sitting on the sofa not far away watching her. Seeing her awake, he stood up from the sofa and walked over.
"Is there anywhere you’re still feeling uncomfortable?"
Iris pushed herself up from bed to sit, her forehead throbbed with pain, and she instinctively raised her hand to press on the wound, the pain blanching her face.
Brandan slightly pursed his lips: "A doctor will come to reapply your medication shortly, would you like to go downstairs to eat first?"
Iris said nothing, lowering her head, she lifted the blanket, and as her feet touched the ground, her legs went weak and she nearly collapsed, a pair of long hands promptly steadied her shoulders, preventing her from falling.
