Lunar Awakening-Chapter 39: Omegas, Betas, And Alphas
After an hour he managed to tie together some strings and connected what made more relevance to him.
A werewolf was a person considered a half beast who usually shifted on the night of a full moon.
Leo could testify to this since he had also done so on the night of a full moon. But since these were all factual pieces of information he had no way to prove it’s validity, since they were believed to be mostly fictional and have never existed.
Unlike what he head read on the net he believed the full moon theory was partly true, this was due to the fact that he always seemed to be a wolf. Full moon or not his heightened senses were still there alongskde the occasional craving of flesh, but on the full moon they were more amplified to a level that took great control to stay sane.
Other piece of information believed that like a real wolf, a werewolf would crave a pack more than anything. Because without it they would be vulnerable and easily attacked by other packs.
This bit of information made Leo feel a bit reclusive, the scroll of the old man had told him he needed to build a pack.
According to what he had read werewolves were usually grouped into three classes.
The first were the Omegas who were known as the line wolves and the most vulnerable.
The second were the Betas, these wolves were associated with packs and they moved as a group under the leadership of their alpha.
Alphas were the third were the final class of wolves and the top of the food chain. They were stronger and better in anyway than their packs, the strength of an alpha could be seen in the number of pack members they had.
Leo willed the sphere to display his information, he scrolled till he found the one he was looking for.
Legacy: The Cursed Dire Wolf.
Legacy Tier: Primordial.
Legacy Rank: Omega.
Legacy Abilities: Moon born.
Legacy Ability Description: Born on the night of a full moon, you have gained partial control over the abilities of the cursed dire wolf.
Inheritance Ability: Wolf Bond
He read for a bit before pushing himself back on his seat and slipping into deep thought.
’So I am really a monster, and an omega. How the hell am I supposed to build a pack and why should I?’
’If that old man was an alpha then where was his pack? Is there a way to control my urges?’
He tried not to think too much.
"Big bro, why don’t you tell me some stories of your adventures?" His sisters voice came in a melodic yet bored tone.
Leo pulled himself from his thoughts and turned to face her. "It’s already late, you should be getting to sleep. Tommorow’s your big day remember."
She rolled over and imitated him speaking with a cheeky look on her face, "You sound just like dad, just one please."
Leo was left dumbfounded for a few seconds, usually he would be dead asleep by now but with his his body had changed it took a while lot to sleep at night. Luckily he brought along pills that would help with that.
He could still feel the ache of where Cassandra had turned him to a punching bag but he could still manage till he healed.
Looking at Trish he scrolled his mind through the so called adventures he had gone through these past few months and thought which of them would be pleasing to the ears.
From the endless humiliation he suffered as "the peerless loser", to the night of the bite, to the day he killed a man after being possessed by an entity to having Cassandra—
He stopped himself there and realised that none of his so called adventures were actually jolly or age appropriate for her.
It made him stop and wonder just what kind of stories he usually told her in the past.
He turned his gaze back to his phone as it vibrated again in his hand, he looked at the many messages and barely read any of them. He simply scrolled, nothing came to mind.
But then his eyes caught on to something, it was only for a brief moment. He scrolled back down to find the name that had drawn his attention.
Then he found it and read.
"Kevin?"
He wondered why the name sounded so familiar to him, he had no memory of having any friend growing up but apparently this "Kevin" did.
He had received over 112 messages from this person all dating back to back when he had lost his mother.
Leo was shocked to find out that he has someone who had been checking up on his constantly for years.
The most recent message was only three minutes back:
"Xup! I don’t know if you are even still alive. But I just remembered your sisters birthday would be tomorrow, wish her a happy early birthday for me." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Leo was now more curious who this "Kevin" was. He sent messaged like he thought Leo was dead but somehow all of his messages were usually rantings on his life.
Most of it was hard to understand but Leo could get a few key details, this "Kevin" was the sole owner of a tech company.
And currently Leo was in need of something to open the drive with but would he risk it going to an old acquaintance he had no memory of?
’Just my luck?’ told himself as he ended up typing in:
"Hey. Just saw your messages, wanna meet up some time."
Leo frowned at his conversation skills as he felt he might die from his own foolishness. Either way what harm could be done, he had a brand new day to look forward to.
He looked back to find Trish had already fallen asleep on his bed, the peaceful look she had on her face was the reason why he kept pushing on and the same reason why he would never stop.
