Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 53
Chapter 53: Chapter 53
Winter didn’t say anything, simply turning around to face Cindy and crossing her arms, awaiting for Cindy’s continued stream of nonsensical insults.
"Oh, now you’re trying to look menacing in front of me," Cindy rolled her eyes. "But I must say, that black dress suits you really well this time. It makes you look gloomy. I’m sure that Sebastian must’ve been fed up looking at that drab attire."
"Are you done with your elementary-grade insults?" Winter asked calmly.
"Nope," Cindy shrugged. "I mean, I can insult you more. But it’s no fun when you don’t fight back."
"You should’ve learned etiquette, Cindy. I didn’t expect my sister, whom I raised, could be so cruel with her words," Winter remarked. "And as for that dress of yours, it won’t seduce Sebastian, trust me."
"Oh, enough with the lecture already. Grandma, you need to update your wardrobe. That dress is only suitable for a funeral," Cindy retorted. "If I were him, I’d have slapped you in the face for wearing a black dress daily."
Ding!
The elevator reached the top floor before Winter could say something to her sister.
"Oh no, time’s up, sis," Cindy giggled. "Well, it’s time for me to meet with Sebastian. Oh, I bet he looks very handsome today."
Cindy walked straight to the CEO’s office, ignoring Iris, who was still working at the secretary’s desk.
Iris was speechless when she saw what Cindy wore today, and she was even more flabbergasted when Cindy stormed into the CEO’s office without knocking first.
Cindy was like a child who got excited to meet Santa, only this time, Santa was a 6 ’3 Latino hunk.
Winter stepped out of the elevator and approached Iris first.
"Good morning, Iris."
"Ah, Madam—I mean, Winter. Good morning."
Iris forced a smile, feeling awkward. She had wanted to call or text Winter, inquiring about her little sister’s behavior. But now that Winter is here, maybe she should ask directly... if she had the courage.
Since Winter was the one who brought Cindy to the office, Iris expected her to spoil Cindy rotten to the point where she disregarded all the common sense and etiquette in an office environment.
"It’s okay, you can tell me what’s on your mind," Winter ordered. "And no need to filter your words."
"Your sister is a talented young lady, Winter. She worked with me yesterday, and picked up all the secretary’s duties quickly," Iris started by praising her from the moon and back, and Winter agreed with this statement. She might not like what Cindy had become right now, but she wouldn’t deny that Cindy was smart. "But I don’t know what’s wrong with her attitude. She’s getting on my nerves with how bold she is. I mean, look at her outfit today! She is dressed like a porn actress!"
"Winter, you are her older sister. Shouldn’t you tell her how to dress properly?" Iris asked with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "With the way she’s acting, I wouldn’t be surprised if you tell me that she is adopted."
Winter almost burst out laughing, but she curled her lips to stay calm. She already made a bet with Sebastian last night, and the first thing she needed to do was to make sure that Iris’ position in this office was safe.
She couldn’t predict when Sebastian would cheat on her with Cindy or other women, but she needed to make sure that Iris didn’t openly antagonize Cindy, or else she might actually get fired or reshuffled while Winter wasn’t around.
"I’m sorry. It’s my fault for spoiling her rotten," Winter admitted. "Please bear with her for now, okay? She’s just an intern. She’ll eventually leave, and you’ll have your peace once more."
"I’d appreciate it if she stopped trying to seduce your husband and helped me with this workload instead," Iris grumbled. It took her a second until she realized what she had just said, "Oh—no, sorry, please forget what I said."
"It’s fine. She’s way too obvious anyway," Winter assured. "But still, I need you to stay civil with her and teach her how to be a good secretary. It’d be a waste if she learns nothing except dressing like a skank for three months, right?"
"Right..." Iris looked at her friend anxiously. "Um, I don’t know if I should ask this, but... aren’t you angry at her?"
"Angry? Why would I be?"
"Because she’s trying to seduce your husband. If I were you, I’d kick her out immediately before she causes more trouble."
"Did you forget how much I hated Sebastian? I’m sure you’ve gotten enough information after eavesdropping our fight before," Winter said condescendingly.
"S-sorry, you two are too loud, I couldn’t help but overhear..."
"Anyway, I have nothing to worry about."
"Ah, because you trust him?"
"Because I don’t trust him at all," Winter chuckled. "Why would I trust a scum like him?"
Iris gulped.
She had a flicker of fear for Winter right now.
For some reason, Winter seemed unhinged, as if she could turn into a serial killer at any moment, with how cold and cruel she sounded.
’Maybe she’s still struggling after Aiden’s death. They were so in love before,’ Iris theorized. ’Maybe I should talk to Mr. Saenz about this. We can arrange for her to see a famous psychiatrist who can help her get better.’
Meanwhile, Winter had one question: what truly happened to Cindy?
Winter had watched Cindy grow from a sweet little girl into a blossoming lady. She had always been kind, understanding, and well-mannered. So it was shocking to see her suddenly turn into a completely different woman after meeting a handsome man.
’I don’t think she’d be so stupid to fall in love at first sight, especially with a man like Sebastian. He might be handsome, but there are a lot of handsome men in this world,’ Winter pondered. ’So, what truly drove her to act this way?’
"So... are you going to enter the CEO’s office soon?" Iris asked. "I’m sure you have something way more important to talk with Mr. Saenz compared to Cindy."
"I can wait for something to happen inside," Winter said calmly. "Maybe I should get a cup of coffee first."
