Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 58
Chapter 58: Chapter 58
Sebastian’s heart cooled down after Winter gave him a sarcastic remark. He knew she didn’t mean it when she called her husband, but was it wrong for him to wish for something more?
"I have my limits, too. I’ve been patient enough with her, but she dares to accuse you of—"Sebastian stopped abruptly as his forehead creased. He didn’t dare to continue because he didn’t want to remind Winter of her past miscarriages.
Moreover, she had once jumped from the balcony while carrying their baby, making this an extremely sensitive topic that he didn’t want to dwell on.
"Accuse me of what? Dumb? Useless? Miscarriages? Infertile?" Winter listed all the things Cindy had said. She seemed unaffected by those words; truthfully, she felt nothing about it.
Winter had accepted that she’d never have his baby again. She didn’t want to give birth to a child whose father wouldn’t love it.
"She went too far. I had to step in before she said worse things," Sebastian said calmly, though he felt guilty because he had a grave sin of being ignorant when Winter was carrying their baby for three months.
He had been holding himself from going home because, at that time, he was also under a lot of stress, especially from his mother’s constant scrutiny.
He wanted to go home and jump into Winter’s embrace, hugging her tightly, burying his face in her chest or neck. He wanted to give up the charade and be with his wife.
But he was stupid and ignorant. He kept denying his desires and ended up not knowing how much Winter suffered before she jumped to her death.
Sebastian was constantly haunted by regret after Winter’s death, often fantasizing about how he could fix everything and live a happy life with the woman he loved and their children.
"It doesn’t really matter. You might as well call me infertile at this point because I’m not going to carry your baby—or any man’s baby," Winter said. "Besides, I’m old. I don’t think I can give birth at this age."
Sebastian clenched his fist. He wanted to tell Winter that they could start anew and have a son because the baby she carried in his previous life was a boy.
But that would blow his cover, so he swallowed his grief.
"I’m surprised you didn’t take her side, especially after she came into the office dressed like that," Winter mentioned.
Sebastian frowned. "What attire?"
"Hm?" Winter studied Sebastian’s face and realized he was genuinely confused. "Wait, did you not see what she was wearing?"
"No, should I have noticed?" Sebastian asked doubtfully. "I was too angry to notice anything but her annoyingly stupid grin."
Winter thought that Sebastian was lying. There was no way a man wouldn’t look at a young woman wearing such a skimpy outfit in the office. It was practically a feast for their perverted eyes.
But the confusion on Sebastian’s face was too genuine, making Winter doubt her own assessment.
’Perhaps Cindy had been too rash in her approach. If only she had been more subtle, Sebastian might fall for her seduction and sleep with her,’ Winter thought, quickly dismissing the idea that Sebastian wasn’t as debauched as she thought.
This man had cheated on her with many women in their previous lives. He had been captured with different women, and all those pictures had been sent to Winter.
She had been too naive to use this hard evidence in court, thinking she could still fix their marriage.
"She’s wearing a scantily clad attire, branding it as sexy secretary attire. It’s a shame you didn’t notice it. Her dress was so short that it was only one mistake away of exposing everything," Winter chuckled.
Sebastian was shocked. He had been so focused on dealing with Cindy’s bullshit that he hadn’t paid attention to what she was wearing. He was fortunate as he didn’t want to stain his eyes on her body.
It was traumatizing enough for him to remember all the things that went wrong that disastrous night when he passed out and ended up naked with Cindy in the same bed.
"Should I call her back so you can see what she’s wearing? It’d be good for your eyes, since you need some refreshment. It’s also good to boost her confidence," Winter offered.
Sebastian scowled. "No, I don’t need to see that. But if you’re the one who wears those in our house, then I’d gladly enjoy the view all night long, probably not blinking."
Sebastian couldn’t hide his grin as he imagined Winter in many sexy dresses and lingerie.
God knows how much self-control he had exercised not to give in to his desire when Winter tried to seduce him many times with her perfect body.
Now that he had decided to fight against his mother and protect Winter, he got all giddy just thinking about what she might wear.
Meanwhile, Winter glared at him. "Don’t even think about it, you degenerate."
"I took my shot," Sebastian shrugged. Not wanting to anger his wife, he quickly asked, "How about your sister? Are you sure she’ll be fine?"
"Just fine? No, of course not," Winter replied. "But I don’t think she’d give up easily. This is good because I can’t wait for you to lose our bet and get out of my penthouse." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Oh, you will lose, Madam," Sebastian said confidently. "I’m not going to sleep with anyone but you, my lawfully wedded wife. So you better get that bed ready."
Winter shivered at the idea of sharing a bed with the man who had ruined her life. But it was a bet that she was confident in.
’It’s ok, Winter. You’re not going to lose the bet anyway. You’ll have more peace once this man leaves the penthouse you shared with Aiden.
"Anyway, I’m here with the budgeting report I got from the finance department," Winter said, tapping the document beside her coffee with her index finger. "And I have a suggestion to stabilize the company quickly."
