Chapter 72: Chapter 72

Winter had sex with Sebastian plenty of times in the past, and she knew that he was packing down there.

Judging from the shape, it was obvious that Sebastian was half erect... for no reason at all. Because Winter was still wearing her black dress with an apron, he had no reason to get hard.

Besides, she doubted that Sebastian actually had any lust for her. He might’ve joked a few times and had sex with her when necessary. But he didn’t go crazy over her body.

’If he were, he wouldn’t reject me whenever I wear my lingerie to seduce him,’ Winter thought.

His rejection was one of the reasons that Winter became so conscious about her body; Aiden had never rejected her advances.

In fact, Aiden would charge like a bull and carry her to the bed the moment he saw her with her lingerie.

Thus, the only plausible explanation for his half-erection was another woman.

’He probably called one of his girlfriends in the room. There’s no other reason,’ Winter assumed.

Her heart cooled off after that, and the red hue on her cheeks quickly disappeared. She complained, "Can you wear something more appropriate? I can see your dick hanging under those sweatpants."

"Huh? Uh... isn’t that normal?" Sebastian asked back. "I mean, I’m in my house with my wife. I see no problem wearing this. I might as well wear nothing, and it wouldn’t be a problem, right? Or are you going to call it sexual harassment?"

Winter clicked her tongue. It wasn’t wrong because, legally, he was allowed to go naked in front of her without repercussions.

It’d be ridiculous for her to call the cops on him for being naked in front of his wife.

Thus, Winter ignored him and walked to the dining table. She put the fried rice and a glass of cold water on the table because Sebastian would definitely need it.

She sat at the table, staring at Sebastian, who stood between the living room and kitchen area. She said, "What are you waiting for? The food will get cold if you just stand there like an idiot."

"Oh, yes—" Sebastian sat facing Winter. He grabbed the utensils and stared at what looked like two portions of fried rice in one large plate. It was Asian-style fried rice, so it smelled spicy.

"Dig in," Winter ordered.

"Uh... how about you?" Sebastian asked. "I can’t possibly eat everything. These are two portions. Let me take a plate so we can eat together."

"No need. I can’t eat that," Winter refused.

"You can’t? It looks good, though..." Sebastian muttered. "Unless you put poison in it."

Winter scoffed, "Death is too easy on you. Why would I kill you and risk my entire wealth to get taken from me because of it? I don’t want to spend my life in jail."

"Besides, if I want to kill you. I’d put a colourless, odourless poison and put it in the water instead. So you won’t notice a thing while drinking it," Winter said, adding to the creepy factor. "So, don’t think of yourself too highly, Sebastian. I’m not going to jeopardize my life just for you."

Sebastian didn’t linger on this poison topic for too long. He quickly moved on by asking, "Then what are you going to eat for dinner? Don’t tell me that you’re on a diet. You’re already thin. You should fatten up a little."

Winter couldn’t hide her scowl when Sebastian said that.

In her previous life, Sebastian saw her going through a rigorous diet until she was as thin as a stick. She was probably ten pounds away from being declared anorexic.

Yet, each time she asked if he found her attractive after she got thinner and thinner, he simply said that she looked ugly this way.

So, Winter translated his vague words into him wanting her to get even thinner. After all, as a woman nearing her forty, she got so insecure with her body.

So she found it extremely jarring how this new Sebastian treated her because the Sebastian in her previous life would NEVER tell her to fatten up.

’I guess my suspicion is wrong. Winter concluded that he was definitely not the same Sebastian from my previous life. She dreaded the idea that the same Sebastian who pushed her to the edge had been reborn just like her.

She jumped from that balcony because she wanted to escape the harsh reality and also to escape Sebastian and Camilla.

If that bastard followed her even to his life, then she might as well jump from that same balcony in the hope that she’d return to the past or go to heaven to join Aiden.

’Fortunately, this is not the same Sebastian. I wouldn’t know how to face him if that nightmare turns out to be true.’

Thus, Winter was much more relaxed and said, "I’ll order a takeout or maybe cook something quick later. I’m not that hungry."

"Not that hungry, huh..." Sebastian paused for a moment. He actually had an idea in mind. He was just debating whether to utter it out loud or not. "How about I cook for you first? Hold on, I’ll make you a light dinner, okay?"

"Wait, you don’t need to—"

Sebastian ignored Winter and got up from his chair. He walked to the kitchen countertop, wore the apron that was too small for his chest, and then started preparing something for her.

"Your fried rice will get cold," Winter said.

"It’ll still be tasty since you’re the one who makes it for me," Sebastian insisted. "Besides, I don’t want to eat alone. I need to eat with my wife, even if we have a different taste."

Winter was annoyed by Sebastian’s insistence. She could’ve just got up and left him alone. But she intentionally cooked spicy fried rice to see his reaction. It would be a fun little revenge and serve as a warning for Sebastian not to ask her to do something stupid like playing a good homemaker for him.
