Sitting just two feet across from eachother, Yami calmed his breathing while watching Grey closely.

"You are a stage four warrior now. The eligible stage to learn the second stage of Ki. This stage is where a lot of warriors are always stuck.

Unable to evolve to the next stage because it will require a lot of willpower and force to allow them evolve."

Yami paused observing as Grey clung to his every word.

"To evolve to the next stage does take talent and immense strength. After evolving, a warrior can now learn the third stage of Ki.

But let’s talk about the second stage more."

Grey shifted slightly on the ground as he edged forward a bit.

"... The second stage of Ki. This stage allows the warrior to infuse their weapons with ki. An infused weapon can cut through more easily.

It can also make the weapon much more durable. Also, this stage will allow the user perform an invisible ki blast. A blast that’s only as strong as the user and nothing more, nothing less."

Grey lifted an eyebrow.

"I don’t understand."

"... What I meant by that is; if for example. A toddler punches you. Will it hurt that well?"

Grey shook his head.

"Good." Yami continued. "Taking in a toddler’s strength. If they were to perform a ki blast, it will just be as strong as their normal strength. The way their normal fist would not hurt, the same way the ki blast won’t hurt you."

"Oh." Grey muttered finally understanding the concept.

"Although. If they actually learnt the third stage of Ki and made the same ki blast but the visible counterpart, it will be much more stronger because a visible Ki blast is usually twice as strong as the performer." Yami added before shaking his head dispelling the thought.

He decided to focus on the main lesson at hand.

"... Also. Infusing your sword with the second stage of Ki can allow you perform an invisible ki slash. These attacks takes high perception to sense otherwise... well, you know the deal." Yami chuckled deeply while Grey stared with a neutral expression on his face.

’I forgot this old geezer loves to ramble on.’

"Anyway, anyway." Yami cut through his chuckle and decided to continue.

"The reason I’m saying all these is that I want to know which you want to learn as starters amongst the several usage of the second stage of Ki."

"Hmm?" Grey lifted an eyebrow at the man’s words.

"Isn’t there like a guidelines or something? I mean; when I learnt the first stage of Ki, you had given me a step by step method on the skills I should learn. So what changed?"

Yami nodded with his arms crossed.

"Indeed. I did that. But this is the second stage of ki. We will learn what interests you. Focus on that for a while and build a strong foundation for you so..."

"... Which do you want to learn first? Infusing your weapon with Ki? Or Performing ki blasts?"

Grey thought for a few moments before replying;

"How about the ki blast first?"

Yami then nodded as he stared closer at Grey.

"Then listen. I will only guide you verbally and watch you try it yourself without any intervention whatsoever."

’Hopefully, if I delay you long enough, you will not take part in the takeover. I do want to save Finral. But not by putting your life in danger.’

"Okay. I’m ready." Grey shifted with a wide smile on his face.

"...."

A brief pause and then Yami decided to continue:

"To perform a ki blast, you need to be in tune with the ki flowing in your body. You need to guide it through your body and towards your fist and then forcefully push it out."

"Hmm?" Grey lifted an eyebrow seemingly not understanding.

Seeing this, Yami reached for his bag and then pulled out something.

It was a plastic bottle filled with water and capped.

"Watch this." Yami said as he pulled the cap off and then gently squeezed the bottle.

Water spilled out from it. Just a few drops and then Yami quickly capped the bottle.

Grey watched confusedly at this scene happening.

Capping the bottle, Yami squeezed tightly on the bottle watching as the plastic scrunched hard with the water flowing to the cap— unable to spill out due to the lid.

This caused the water to be divided in two parts. Half trying to flow to the top, the second stuck down below.

"I don’t understand." Grey finally spoke.

"... This bottle represents your body and this water represents the ki flowing through it. Right now, they are flowing around your body without any purpose.

But if you were to force them to your fist, it will get stuck because the second stage of Ki deals with imagination. It deals with visualization. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

You visualize what you want to do with it like the ki blast. Now, that’s what this lid on the bottle is for." Yami paused pointing at the cover on the bottle.

"It represents the lack of imagination in humans. While pushing the ki to your fist to perform the blast, you need to visualise how you want the ki fist to look like and that’s it." Yami said while squeezing the bottle hard.

Then he gently turned the cover again and again. When it was almost off, he forcefully yanked it out and immediately, water sprayed in the air from the bottle.

"... The moment the seal on your imagination is off, the moment you are able to visualise it, your blast will shoot out without any hitch. Do you understand?" Yami asked wondering if he was even making sense at this moment.

The problem was that he didn’t learn this from anybody. He had ran away from his home before he could learn it.

So all these, he learnt on his own hence he was just rambling on wondering if he was even helping the mage.

"Imagination eh? Got it." Grey nodded as he quickly closed his eyelids.

Yami watched in calm silence at what the mage was attempting to do.

Taking a few deep breaths, Grey was internally channeling Ki towards his hands. Most especially, his fist.

He wasn’t coating them like he used to, he was pushing it towards his knuckles while maintaining deep breath.

’... Imagination.’

The shape of a ki fist suddenly materialized in his head as his knuckles began trembling with power.

Feeling the urge, he swiftly punched the air with his might and then—

Bang—!

An invisible fist tore through the air and smashed into a tree directly behind Yami tearing a small hole through it stunning the warrior himself.

"Wait. That was too quick! What kind of a monster are you?!" Yami exclaimed in pure, genuine shock at the feat the mage had just displayed.
