Magus Supremacy-Chapter 755: An Assailant!
Chapter 755
The moment the beasts set eyes on Grey, they wasted no time in sending an attack toward the mage.
Their tongues streaked through the air like whips, slicing the space between them.
For some reason, Grey did not know why they always attacked with their tongues.
Watching Alba and the others fight earlier, he had not noticed any special properties attached to the limbs.
So why?
But did he care about this? No.
Instead, he channeled Ki to his feet and exploded backward, dodging the ten whips streaking his way.
A loud crack echoed through the area as the organs snapped against the air where he had been standing a moment ago.
The instant his boots touched the ground, his muscles tightened and coiled as Ki condensed around the soles of his feet.
The earth fractured beneath him as he shot into the air, kicking up a mound of grass that scattered violently around him.
Clara flashed through the air with a dangerous glint as he swung toward one of the beasts, severing its head cleanly from its neck.
Being a divine ranked weapon, a tier above the beasts, Clara was far stronger than them.
Because of that, the mage was not worried in the slightest.
He landed almost simultaneously with the remaining nine beasts.
Without hesitation, the creatures lunged at him at astonishing speed, their massive bodies blurring as they moved.
One swung its tail toward Grey.
With a casual sidestep, he avoided the attack by a wide margin, the tail slicing harmlessly past him.
He was about to counterattack when a tongue launched at him from behind, forcing him to twirl around sharply.
He blocked coolly with the back of his sword.
The force of the collision sent him sliding an inch backward, his boots carving shallow lines into the ground.
Creeee—!
His ears perked up as he swiftly twisted his head, spotting one of the beasts airborne as it rocketed toward him at full speed.
With a frown, he swirled Ki around his foot and drove it into the beast in front of him, sending the creature tumbling backward in a violent roll.
This opened a narrow window.
The mage leapt to the side, dodging the second beast as it crashed into the spot he had occupied a heartbeat ago.
Dust billowed into the air when—
Wooosh—!
An invisible Ki slash tore through the cloud, smashing into the beast and sending it hurtling backward with a pained shriek as a shallow gash split across its body.
He was not using his magic at the moment.
Still, being deeply attuned to the wind element, his senses remained razor sharp.
That connection allowed him to spin around instantly, rotating his sword in one smooth motion.
The edge glinted in front of his face.
A tongue that had been racing toward him moments earlier slammed straight into the blade.
Grey continued pushing his hand forward, splitting the limb cleanly in two.
Kicking off the ground, he landed briefly on the severed tongue before springing away in a blur of motion.
Now airborne, a wide smile stretched across his face as he swung his sword downward, smashing it atop the beast’s head and tearing through its skull with little to no resistance.
Blood erupted from the creature’s head in violent waves, splattering the grass below.
Grey landed with a controlled huff, rolling his shoulder once as he steadied himself.
Now, eight beasts remained, and they wasted no time in encircling him.
Eyes flashing with rage.
With another loud roar, the beasts all bolted toward the mage, who quickly shifted into a calm stance as if the situation was not really a big deal to him.
One of the creatures lunged forward, breaking away from the rest and moving far faster than the others.
Grey wasted no time channeling Ki into his fist, which he swung through the air.
A mini bang was heard as an invisible Ki fist tore through the space ahead, smashing into the jaws of the beast and throwing its head violently to the side.
Kicking the ground lightly, the terrain shifted beneath his foot, propelling the mage forward.
In the next instant, he blitzed into the midst of the beasts with a mad grin stretched across his face.
The creatures quickly regained their footing, spinning around as tongues streaked through the air toward the mage in rapid succession.
"Too slow," he whispered as he kicked off the ground.
Twirling through the air like a fan, his sword flashed brightly, tearing through the tongues as if they were nothing more than thin parchment.
Blood sprayed toward his face, but he tilted his head slightly, narrowly dodging the liquid as it splattered past him.
He landed smoothly, still standing in the middle of the beasts, all of whom groaned in agony from having their tongues severed.
Swinging his sword sideways, he cleaved cleanly through one beast.
A brutal kick smashed into another, causing blood to spray from its abdomen.
Grey followed through without hesitation, driving his sword into the creature’s stomach, ripping it open and allowing even more blood to gush out.
Bending down sharply, he avoided the snapping jaws of another beast as they closed inches above his head.
Leaping into the air, he swung Clara several times, unleashing invisible Ki slashes that slammed into a beast again and again until its body finally gave out.
Kicking the air a few more times, Grey landed two metres away from the remaining beasts, his boots skidding slightly as he steadied himself and held one hand forward.
His fingers shaped like a gun, and without hesitation. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Bang, Bang, Bang—!
Pellets of invisible Ki shot out with thunderous blasts, crashing into the eyes of the beasts.
The force tore through their skulls and plunged straight into their brains, reducing them to pulp as the bodies slammed into the ground with heavy thuds.
"Haaa... Haaaa...."
Grey panted heavily, small beads of sweat trickling down his face as he hunched over for a brief moment, catching his breath.
Then he wiped the sweat away and stepped toward one of the fallen beasts.
Crouching down, he pulled a dagger from his pendant while sending Clara back inside.
Using the blade, he began meticulously carving through the beast when...
Wam—!
Grey’s hands shot up, crossing in front of his face just in time as a kick smashed into his guard, lifting his entire body and sending it skipping across the terrain for several moments.
He was only able to stop himself by stabbing his dagger into the ground, tearing up grass as his body was dragged to a halt.
Lifting his head to stare at his assailant, a scowl crossed the mage’s face.
That was because standing in front of him was Gunlag and his men.
