Magus Supremacy-Chapter 754: Melodrama
Chapter 754
"Well, that was fun. I wouldn’t have expected any less from the Crimson Lotus Clan." A voice cut through the slightly laboured breathing of Alba and her squad.
Turning around, a scowl suddenly appeared on her face.
"You again? What do you want, Gunlag?"
"I just came to say; good job. You managed to get yourself quite the strong members, I must say." Gunlag replied with a wide grin as he stared at Alba.
"Thanks." Alba coldly replied before turning away to stare into the distance.
She seemed to be calculating their next move.
"Oh come on. Why do you have to be like that? For old time’s sake, why don’t we be friends?" Gunlag asked as he held out his hand while staring at Alba.
"Hm?" Alba raised an eyebrow as she turned back around to look at the man.
"Being friends with my ex? Who the hell does that? You cheated on me. You left me. And now you’re coming back to act like nothing happened? Then what? We’ll be friends, talk for a while, and you’ll rope me into your bed again?
Ha~ not happening. I’m not such a naive woman, and I can’t be used."
"..."
Everybody stared in stunned silence as Alba spouted out words without pause.
Grey, as usual, had his hands in his pockets, watching the melodrama unfold.
’It’s like I’m in a series or something. I’m so bored.’ He groaned internally as his eyes settled on Judy, refusing to leave her.
Gunlag chuckled for a bit before letting out a sharp exhale.
"So you won’t give me a chance? I wanted to help your life. I can see that you were unable to move on.
You decided to bury yourself in alcohol and missions continuously. Even with how beautiful you are, you still can’t get yourself another man."
’Okay. I’m tired. I need to do something productive.’ Grey snarled inwardly before he began walking away.
He had been standing behind Gunlag and his men a while ago.
Now, he walked past them, wanting to head in another direction, far away from all this drama.
He passed by Gunlag, who stared at his back for a moment before lifting his gaze to Alba.
She let out a small smirk.
"And who said I was still single? I’ve got a man." She proudly announced.
Right in front of everybody, she moved blazingly fast and grabbed Grey by the hand, stopping him dead in his tracks.
"... He’s my man. My love, my heart, and my everything." She declared as she smooched Grey on the cheek.
’Wait! How the hell did I get dragged into this melodrama?!’
Grey blinked confusedly as he stared at Alba’s face, which was very close to his.
She winked at him and whispered:
"Just play along."
’The hell? I don’t want to. You stupid, perverted woman.’
"..."
Gunlag stared at the scene in stunned silence.
A dark glint flashed across his eyes for a moment as he glared deeply at the Supreme Magus.
Hands tightened around his sword.
"Oh? I see." He muttered with an exhale.
Then, with a shrug, he turned around.
"You couldn’t be with a strong man, hence you decided to settle for an ordinary one. What a downgrade." He said over his shoulder as he began walking away with his men.
After they were a considerable distance away, Grey sharply stepped back from Alba, a scowl forming on his face.
"Never do that again." He growled before turning and walking off.
"Wait. Where are you headed?!" Ash shouted after the mage.
"... Away from that perverted woman and this entire melodrama. I have already seen what I wanted to see." Grey replied as he continued walking, leaving the Crimson Lotus Clan behind.
Alba merely shrugged before turning toward her squad.
"Let’s harvest the beast cores. We don’t have all day."

Meanwhile, Grey could be seen strolling through the grassy terrain.
Small vines occasionally wrapped around his boots, halting his steps for a moment, but with a bit of strength, he pushed through them without slowing down.
For now, he had not encountered a single beast, and this was not what he wanted.
He wanted enemies.
He wanted them to attack.
He wanted to test his second stage of Ki repeatedly, without restraint.
Soon enough, he was just a metre away from crossing the grassy plains when the sound of rustling filled his ears.
A wide smirk crept onto his face.
Turning around, he could tell he was far from the other warriors who had entered the portal for the hunt.
No one could see what this... ordinary-looking fellow was capable of.
Without wasting time, he extended his hand.
With a faint glow, Clara materialized, settling firmly into his grip as though she belonged there.
Shifting smoothly into a stance, ten beasts suddenly lunged out from the grass.
Each creature stood roughly two metres tall, yet somehow managed to bury themselves within grass that barely reached a metre in height.
It made little sense to Grey, unless the beasts possessed some strange ability to sink into the ground itself.
But he did not dwell on it.
Clara hummed excitedly, eager for battle.
These were the same beasts Thalos had warned him about.
According to the gargoyle, a warrior needed to be at least stage five or higher to deal with them, otherwise it was certain death.
Thalos had also added that if Grey ever encountered one of these Saint-ranked beasts alone, he should flee without hesitation.
Yet now, he was facing ten of them at once.
Still, not a trace of fear appeared on his face.
He remained calm, eyes flashing with raw excitement as his grip tightened around the sword, a wide grin splitting his features.
"Come on. Let’s f*cking dance!" He smirked.
In response, ten long tongues lashed toward him, lightning fast.
