Chapter 758: The Might of the Vice Clan Leader (1)

Chapter 758

"Wait. It’s you?!" Gunlag shouted in recognition as he stared, mouth agape.

"What is the vice clan leader of the Waterfall Clan from the Aetherian faction doing here?!"

"....."

There were a few moments of tense silence in the area around them.

Except for the distant sounds of battle from the others who were still hunting.

"Wh-what?" Grey stuttered as he took a step back, staring at the man in front of him.

Lean, with a somewhat athletic build, standing around 5"9 with a chiseled, sharp jawline.

Piercing brown eyes that held faint streaks of lightning crackling within them.

His flowing gray hair, which looked like a statement of fashion or deliberate choice rather than old age, framed his face neatly.

The man radiated an air of confidence and complete mastery over his abilities.

Even after being recognised, he didn’t fret, not at all.

’What is the vice clan leader of the Waterfall Clan doing here? Wait... I never did hear of a vice leader though. But it isn’t far-fetched for a clan to have one. Still, what is he doing in the Noxarian faction?’

The mysterious man turned his head to stare at Gunlag, eyes twinkling briefly as a dark glint passed through them.

"You sure had to run your big, fat mouth eh?"

"Wh-what?" Gunlag muttered as he glared at the man. "What are you doing in the Noxarian faction?!"

The man blinked for a few seconds, as if weighing his patience. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"That is for me to know, and for you to seal your damned mouth."

"So... you are Orion Stormvale’s second in command eh?" Grey beamed as a dangerous glint flashed across his eyes.

’Isn’t this wonderful? I plan on attacking the Aetherian faction in a month’s time and here, the vice clan leader of one of the three clans has presented himself to me on a silver platter.

If I manage to take him down here, that is one less problem for me to worry about.’

The mysterious man turned to look at Grey for a second, as if noticing the lethal idea forming inside his mind.

Gunlag, on the other hand, refused to stay silent.

"This is trespassing! As a member of the Noxarian faction, I’m calling out your behaviour as an act of treason. You shouldn’t be on this la—"

"Shut up." The mysterious man ordered as he turned his palm toward him.

Lightning crackled violently around the surface of his pointed hand.

"Speak one more word and a beam will go straight through your head. Trust me, you won’t be able to recover."

"Gulp..."

"Now you," the mysterious man growled as he glared at Grey, a deep frown forming on his face.

"Who are you? What are you doing here? I mean... what is a mage like you doing in this world?"

"I could be asking you the same question."

Grey countered with a cocky grin plastered across his face.

"But one thing I’ve learned is this; no matter the question asked, I won’t get my answer. So how about I just deal with you here? That way, you won’t be a problem for me when it’s time to kill Orion!"

Snap!

"Wait, what?!" The mysterious man faltered for a brief moment upon hearing Grey’s words.

But before he could act, his gaze drifted upward.

Right in front of everyone’s eyes, a hundred lightning spears crackled in the air with lethal intensity.

Fifty fiery arrows blazed with scorching intent.

Two hundred wind swords filled the sky, covering the entire space like fingers of doom.

In short, there was nowhere to escape, as even Gunlag might get caught in the onslaught.

’A multi-elementalist? Who is he?’

"I want to see you avoid this."

Snap—!

Grey’s fingers smacked against each other and, in a single instant, all the attacks screamed down from the sky at neck-breaking speed.

"F*ck." That was all the mysterious man could utter and then...

KA-BOOOM—!

The sound barrier collapsed in a blinding flash as violent shockwaves tore through the surroundings.

Ferocious gusts blasted outward in every direction, ripping through the air like invisible blades.

Flames swallowed the grassy terrain, reducing it to nothing but drifting ash and scorched earth.

The half-fallen structure behind him crumbled completely, collapsing into rubble as the stench of burnt flesh and spilled blood filled the atmosphere.

Wind rustled through the newly formed clearing, carrying with it the remains of what had once been lush, green grass.

The mysterious man was nowhere to be seen.

And for once, Gunlag’s arrogance shattered as he stood frozen, eyes squeezed tightly shut, his body quivering beneath the overwhelming might of the attack.

Luckily for him, the warrior mage had deliberately avoided him and his men, sparing them from the full wrath of his elemental onslaught.

"Ackk..."

The mysterious man appeared the next moment, dropping heavily to his knees.

Blood poured from his mouth with every violent cough as he stared at Grey with blazing, unyielding eyes.

’I survived? Damn, I didn’t think that would work. I used one of the magic parchments on myself to teleport a few dozen metres away. It burnt through my mana.’

’But did the lad just say he wanted to eliminate Orion?’

"Oh. You survived?" Grey tilted his head with a maniacal frown stretching across his face.

The next moment, bright blue light abruptly engulfed his feet.

When it faded, a pair of lightning boots had materialized around his legs, crackling wildly with contained intensity.

"Don’t worry, I can fix that for us..."

KA-BANG—!

Grey exploded from his position, shooting forward like a loose arrow released from a bowstring.

His speed was overwhelming as he appeared in front of the mysterious man in less than a heartbeat.

A vicious grin split his face while his leg swung upward from below, aiming to shatter the man’s chin, but then—

"You are dangerous."

KA-POW—!

The mysterious man moved like a true lightning bolt, evading the kick by a wide margin.

He burst into the air, spinning sharply before his toes slammed into Grey’s neck, sending the Supreme Magus reeling backward through the air.

"Lightning magic: Rashringa."

Around the mysterious man’s hands, twin blazing orbs of lightning appeared, each one the size of a miniature sun.

Thunder roared violently as the spheres detonated forward, hurtling straight toward Grey with catastrophic force.
