Chapter 769

The creator of Aetherian faction according to the little Grey had gathered, he was also a mage from his world.

He had befriended Borfan who is the leader of the Noxarian faction. The man saved the gargoyle community from total annihilation when the otherworlders struck.

Therefore earning Thalos’ loyalty and getting him under his command. The same Thalos that’s now Grey’s ally was once serving under this same man.

According to Thalos, something had happened which he didn’t know what it was. He was suddenly teleported by the man to the castle Grey met the gargoyle that day.

And since then, he had been frozen for a decade with the only exception of his freedom if he found someone worthy of his loyalty, that’s when he would be free.

And now, no one knew what happened to the man as he suddenly vanished from the world. Whether he was dead or alive, no one knew including Borfan.

But now, Fenrir here just revealed that the current leader of the Aetherian faction who was in turn one of the man’s right hand man then was his murderer?

Grey was beyond confused at this point as he stared at Fenrir who began chuckling at the Supreme Magus’ expression.

"Do you mind explaining further? How do you know this? And how sure are you about this information?" Grey asked with a calm tone.

Now wasn’t the time to be rude or act like the Supreme Magus, he was a lost kid; a confused one at that. He needed information and if it required being humble, he was going to be one. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"How do I know this?" Fenrir suddenly burst into a chuckle while leaning forward with his eyes gleaming with restrained tears as he glared at the mage.

"... I was there when that blasted Orion attacked with high ranking and powerful members of the Otherworlders organisation therefore killing my mentor and then taking the reigns for himself."

Alba was now confused about this story as she shuffled in her seat while staring at the man deeply.

"If you were there at that time, how come Orion didn’t kill you too? And why will he now make you the vice leader of his clan? That doesn’t make sense."

Orion just smiled while rubbing his temples.

The next moment, he lifted his gaze to stare not at Grey or anybody in the room, but at the ceiling as if relieving some memories.

A few seconds passed in silence before he uttered;

"Once upon a time, I was just a ten years old boy in Arondale. An orphan who had no hope for life or if he would live the next day. A kid who had no hopes of being a mage like the many populace of the world.

And I would have died from a portal break if it wasn’t for Sir Armin who rescued the slum personally. I was injured in that incident, badly injured and might have not made it.

Personally, he took me in and took me to the kingdom’s capital where he tended to my injuries and made sure I recovered."

"...."

Fenrir paused for a moment while still staring at the ceiling.

"... After I recovered, I stayed by his side as a form of gratitude helping him do anything he wanted. He needed to get a newspaper across the room, I would get it for him. I stayed with him for many years and he even helped me awaken my affinity and practically groomed me into the man I am right now.

You can say he was a Messiah to me and wanted the best for me until—"

The tone suddenly went solemn as Fenrir gripped his hands tightly, his teeth gnashing back and forth for a moment.

"The Otherworlders attacked Arondale for the first time and it was a bloody chaos. Sir Armin was part of the first generation of mages then and in order to keep me safe, he sealed me in a chamber with his magic.

In the chamber, time was non-existent. I had no idea how many years had passed and I just remained there unchanging until he came back later on very injured.

Without any explanation, he drew a magic circle that teleported us to this world. A world filled not with mages but warriors."

"..."

Fenrir paused for a moment causing Grey to take that time to reflect a bit.

’Damn. He has been a lot. But what kind of magic did that man use to seal Fenrir though? If I hadn’t encountered the same with Thalos, I would have thought it was a lie.’

"In this world, he decided to start afresh. We created a shelter on an unknown land that went on to become the Aetherian faction of today. Sir Armin went to different clans and factions dueling with their most strongest while learning about the world and their clan techniques in the process.

Those he couldn’t beat, he would go back and return a few weeks later and would find a way to defeat them. He was such a genius that even in Arondale, he had invented so many magic skills and introduced a few magic circles that bettered the world."

"...."

"This were going well until an incident occurred and that was when we met that damned Orion that decided to become a menace for us."

__

"And that was how we met Orion. A portal break had happened in our land and it turned out to be such a devastating break that it affected all the other factions and clans.

Many people died, many were injured because the world were dealing with the first corrupted beast at the time. A corrupted Divine beast that had the power of a Primordial ranked beast.

It took everybody’s strength to defeat it and yet, they couldn’t kill it and only sent it away."

Fenrir paused for a moment as he felt his throat getting dry but he continued as every single person listened in attentively.

"... After sending the beast away, Sir Armin found a young Orion amongst the many injured people laying around the side and he took him in just like he did me.

From there, he helped Orion and made him his second, second in command because he showed immense potential in the arts of Ki. Infact, all the martial arts techniques and ki techniques Armin learnt from the different clans, he bestowed upon Orion making him a formidable foe in battle.

With the two of us, sir Armin never had to step into battle unless it was too bad. Orion and me became a force to be reckoned with. And then sir Armin on his several trips came across the gargoyle race. He brought their most powerful general who is also a menace of war and with the three of us,"

"..."

Fenrir paused for a moment as a small smile curved his lips causing his eyes to glint.

"We were called the three musketeers of war. And with that, the Aetherian faction was formed further cementing sir Armin’s popularity and prowess. Nobody could challenge our faction because of the three of us.

And if the situation got too bad for us to handle, Armin could step in and cause devastation. But what we didn’t know was that, the help we rendered came back to bite us hard several years later."
