Magus Supremacy-Chapter 771
Chapter 771
"... Yes. And the leader of the clan is a nine star mage with immense power and he is also amongst the twelve zodiac. So plus Orion, that makes two zodiacs in this world in high enough positions."
***
Hearing that, Grey slumped back into his chair. His mind was currently spinning trying to piece everything Fenrir had just told him together.
The same clan that was supposed to keep the whole faction in check, were part of the Otherworlders? What the hell was even going on in this world?
Now, Grey’s paranoia was starting to kick in as he didn’t know who to trust anymore.
The Aetherian faction was already compromised, the Midnight Sun too was compromised.
Now he didn’t know about the Umbrafell faction but surely, the Noxarian faction were still good though.
Fenrir reached out and grabbed the glass of water in front of him downing in two a go as his throat was parched from speaking for so long.
The night sky had finally blanketed the world in its embrace with only the light from the lanterns filling the room.
"....."
Silence consumed the room as even the Crimson Lotus Clan were trying to grasp everything Fenrir had just divulged.
’So that’s why that Robed mage asked me if I knew what I signed up for by joining the Midnight Sun Clan eh? I wonder if that Duke guy knows about all these.’ Grey’s head ached causing him to massage his temples in deep thought.
’... On the good side, I have finally learnt who the second zodiac is so Yami sir doesn’t have to visit his family for help on that issue. The only problem is the location. I can trap Orion since I know his location, but the leader of the Midnight Sun Clan, I don’t even know the location of the bas...’
Grey trailed off inwardly for a moment before a small, invisible smile flashed past his face causing him to cover his face with his palm.
’That’s right. I’m already part of the Midnight Sun Clan right? All I just have to do is get Duke to call me to their base and I can finally do something. But can I handle a nine star mage?
Now that I have finally regained my memories, I remember the mage rankings.’
He paused as his gaze drifted back to the ceiling as memories from his world flooded his mind.
’... There are eleven mage rankings with a one star mage being the lowest rank there is and a eleven star mage being the highest. Just like a stage ten warrior in this world is on the level of godhood, so does an eleven star mage.
I’m just a six star mage and the leader of the Midnight Sun Clan is a nine star mage? This will actually prove to be troublesome to be honest.’
"Especially with the fact that he literally commands an army under the guise of a clan." Grey muttered beneath his breath as he stared at the table for a few moments.
Fenrir finally cleared his throat breaking the silence that had consumed the room.
"Now. Do you mind telling me why you always want to take down the Otherworlders and Orion?"
Grey looked up and blinked for a few seconds while staring at the mage in front of him.
Normally, he wouldn’t have trusted the man in front of him. But seeing as he had the same hatred for the organisation, he had to trust him... for now.
Because that kind of pain and hate was too real to fake.
With a heavy sigh, Grey edged closer.
"They took everything from me. My mum, my sisters, my friends, identity, calm life and everything I held dear. They are the reason I had to grow this strong just to protect the things and people I hold dear.
They didn’t let me enjoy my childhood and life dumping me straight into a battle I didn’t ask for. Same battle that made them kill my mum and the girls that consider me their brother. Nah! This is unacceptable. I need to eliminate them all. I will wipe them out of this universe no matter what."
Grey declared with a firm look on his face as his hands squeezed tightly while he stared at Fenrir for a few seconds before adding;
"... And about Orion, well my friends are stuck in his academy and I want to get them out while killing him. Killing two birds with one stone."
A brief pause later, Grey exhaled and leaned back into his seat.
"Now I don’t know what is going on back at Arondale, I don’t know if my friends are still safe or not, but judging by how they are spreading their roots in this world, I feel an attack is imminent.
They are ready to destroy and claim this world under their belt and I won’t let them. I have people here whom I care about and would do anything to protect so I won’t stand by and watch those blasted Otherworlders destroy their world."
The more Grey spoke, Fenrir smiled widely to the extent it felt like his face was about to touch his ears.
’The more he speaks, the more he reminds me of Sir Armin. The raw determination, hatred and genius is evident in this young lad. I guess it’s not a bad thing to put my hope in him.’
Clearing his throat, Fenrir decided to ask one last question.
"So...what do you plan on doing? And when do you want to strike?"
Grey heaved a gentle sigh as he rose out of his seat while scanning the room with a calm look on his face.
He stared at the Crimson Lotus Clan who had been reduced to mere listeners and spectators unable to butt in due to how intense and emotional the conversation was.
"I will strike Orion during the inter-faction tournament coming up in a month. I will make sure I take him down when he least expects and his decades of betrayal and evil will come to an end. Afterwards, the Midnight Sun Clan would be next then the main Otherworlders."
Fenrir just grinned from ear to ear as he stood up with a yawn.
"... Then you have my full support. I will assist you in this battle and make sure it is a success. It’s time for those damned Otherworlders to get a taste of their own medicine." Fenrir said as he held out his hand for a handshake.
Grey took it while a neutral expression on his face while the Crimson Lotus Clan stood up with shrugs.
