Magus Supremacy-Chapter 783: The Next Wave
Chapter 783
"....."
There was a minute of silence in the arena as every single person stared at the Aetherian academy students who had just defeated a Divine ranked beast.
The rank wasn’t only absurd for a mere bunch of inexperienced students, but certainly deadly for them.
Some stage five warriors lose their lives to these ranks of beasts.
Yet they just saw as five students defeated one.
Yes. The Noxarian academy did the same too. But there was a vast difference between these two fights.
First off, the Noxarian academy had six students while the Aetherian had five.
Not a big difference, right? But in war, every single drop of strength mattered so when the crowd had seen that the Aetherian academy were down by one student, they were visibly worried.
Also, the second difference was the fighting style between the two academies.
Yes, the two had deployed teamwork; but the difference was glaring here.
Where the Noxarian academy struggled desperately against the beast, it looked like the Aetherian academy didn’t even have to struggle.
They fluidly took care of the beast like it was nothing of importance showing the vast difference between them.
Lastly; where the Noxarian academy decided to rest up before taking the next wave, the Aetherian faction boldly declared for the next wave to begin.
In the west booth; the strongest vice leader of the Behemoth clan sat. His teeth grinding back and forth in restrained fury as he cast a quick glance at Zach and his team who were now fully healed.
A doctor had been sent down there while the Aetherian student were combating the beast.
Administering some pills and herbs, their wounds were immediately healed and their broken weapons were instantly replaced.
"Can you see what you have done?! You have made our faction seem weak in the faces of these guys!" He roared in anger as he stared at the student of five.
They shuddered in his presence. And that was not actually because of his words; but the fact that he was emitting a dangerous aura that pressed down on them incredibly hard.
They even unconsciously fell to their knees in deep pain as they helplessly stared at the man.
That was when the leader of the watcher’s clan stepped forward with a scowl on his face which was hidden behind a scarf that wrapped around both his mouth and nose leaving only his eyes visible.
"That’s enough. Do you want to damage them so bad that they wouldn’t be able to participate in the next wave?"
Still, the aura didn’t receede and instead, it grew with intensity to the extent that the leader of the watcher’s clan felt his legs tremble a bit.
"Pluck! We still need them in peak condition. They were just healed a while ago." The man shouted again as he also unleashed his own aura to fight against Pluck’s aura.
Unfortunately, the students were on the receiving end of this backlash.
With trembling voice, Zach managed to croak out.
"I-I-I’M sorry for disappointing you vice leader, Pluck. I-I promise to do better in the next wave."
Hearing his words, Pluck shot him a glare and after a few seconds, he calmed back down and withdrew his aura.
"You better."

Back outside, the announcer could be seen stammering in confusion at Mada’s words.
"Sorry?"
Mada frowned as he stared straight at the North booth.
"Did I stutter? I said; we need the next wave now."
"Don’t you want to like, rest a bit?"
At that words, Liam came limping from wherever he had been whacked by the beast earlier.
Blood trailed down his lips as he stared at Mada.
"We don’t need rest." Mada replied calmly. "We are still in good condition."
’Speak for yourself bastard!’ Liam shouted inwardly knowing full well that he didn’t have the balls to speak aloud.
The announcer took a brief pause before he responded, possibly conversing with the hosts in the North booth with him.
While they conversed, the body of the beast already disappeared along with the blood stains and any sign of destruction on the ground.
Grey who was in the spectator stands smirked as he stared down below.
"Th-They have surely grown. All of them have actually grown in these past two months? It seems like Mada is now a stage five warrior capable of using his clan’s technique which was what he used to decapitate the beast earlier.’
He paused his thoughts a bit as he thought back to the fight.
’... So their ki technique is like a flowing wave? Like water? It’s almost similar to water magic just that it makes use of Ki and is more denser and would be more powerful in the hands of an extremely powerful warrior like... Orion!’
His eyes slanted in deep thought as he glared ahead trying to picture how the future would be for him.
’Oh? So is that where the name of the clan come from? Waterfall clan? Knowing as it was Thalos’ master who founded the clan, it means that the man used water magic in his time... maybe? Probably that’s what shaped the clan’s technique to be that of water. Hm! Interesting.’
Grey began nodding to himself as the theories were now beginning to move and piece themselves together in his head.
Finally, the announcer came back with a reply.
"Fine then. The next wave you shall have."
Hearing that, everybody tensed up.
And soon enough, the formation shifted.
The formation changed to that of a spear shape with Mada positioned just a little bit in front.
Noelle stood a few metres away from him by his left. While Ray stood on his right.
The remaining two stood directly behind them waiting.
That was because they knew that the next wave will not only be much harder, but more beasts might pop out.
Still; Thalos and Rivock didn’t even move or make an attempt to join the formation as they stood far back while keeping their eyes on the others in front with occasional glances towards the east booth.
Crackling sounds filled the air and with it; a portal appeared two metres away from the students.
A step. Another step.
A hoove. Then another. Then another. And another.
Finally, two divine ranked beasts of the previous type stepped forward with a loud roar as the portal snapped shut behind them.
This was it. The next wave for the Aetherian faction had begun.
